  1. Just my 2 cents, put on a Nitto or Tomei headgasket along with ARP head studs since the motor is apart.
  2. More house renos please 😂 Man will be sick once that zf goes in.
  3. Time for an update on the Intima RS compound I think, so in a hasty rush to get my car ready for All Jap Day in Sydney (some what a great kick up the backside to finish the car off) I decided to give the brake department a quick check and the pads that I was using before have been superseded by the current 2022 compound. I thought why not replace them since the last set was at about 50% pad life. Say hello to the new and improved Intima RS compound! Note: I am using the DC5R version of the IN1520 pad as they're currently on backorder. The DC5R version is about 2mm thinner. Initial impressions, wow... just wow, they hook up even though I didn't even give them a chance to bed in properly. After bedding them in, that's where they really perform on the street. For a track oriented pad, the performance from cold they're providing can somewhat described similar to the Project Mu HC+ (not the HC800 version). Nice predictable initial bite, and as you feed in the brakes you can really experience the braking capacity. The braking effort (on the street) when compared to the test Intima RS pads was much less. Comparing these to the old Type-D v2 compound is just day and night. The older Type-D v2 pads were progressive, they worked but always need a fair amount of pedal effort. These are completely different, I would say you would really need to change your braking habits if you're used to the Type-D 2 pads. I haven't had a chance to try them on a race track just yet (was supposed to be last Sunday, however All Jap Day was cancelled due to adverse weather). I suspect I'll be going to Wakefield Park in the coming months and will report back on how they perform! Tech Details: 0°c to ~ 850°c degrees operating temperature 0.35 – 0.60µ friction coefficient 100% Non-Asbestos Carbon Kevlar Formula https://intimabrakes.com.au/home-corporate/intima-rs/ Disclosure: Previous test Intima RS pads were provided to me for free and the current set in my car has been provided for review at a heavily discounted price. Car is running DBA T3 4000 all round (I hate slotted rotors, but yes the rears are slotted as DBA ran out of plain rotors when I needed them back then). Front caliper is from a 350Z, rear is factory.
  4. LOL... I think we are all mentally unstable to some degree (talking about us, the old timers on SAU and yes I would like to use the word autistic or retarded, etc. but it's 2022 and we can't use those words anymore). @Kinkstaah really Gregged up, he could have just bought a SS or HSV but he wanted to Greg shit up with his R34. @mlr really Gregged up too, he could have just bought a four door Skyline, but wanted to obtain Skyline performance out of his bogandore
  5. It's the Nissan / GM curse, it comes out once in a while to Greg you!
  6. When you think it couldn't get more Gregging ridiculous.
  7. I also found these new bottom injectors insulators/o-rings(?) that might be of use, will throw in for free with the set.
  8. lol... man you like to Greg the shit out of things.
  9. Don't think so, but there are nice manifolds out there on the market that can achieve this very easily. I would most likely not even go external gate to keep packaging simple.
  10. Are you sure you want to do this? all the pain, none of the gains. Money better spent on a nice intake manifold/plenum & drive by wire.
  11. "it's very Type A, it's very technical, it's very engineering focused ....... and now you add in the fact it's now more reliable it appeals to a specific demographic" "everything about this car is objectively is near perfect, it rides well, the engine is extremely powerful, it's alarming fast, the steering is great, there is nothing I can technically fault this car for" Sounds like me inside/out, I'll convert it to a single turbo and it will dose and I will be happy.
  12. Sounds like me then LOL... The BMW sounds like a perfect match.
  13. And All Jap Day today is cancelled. All that rushing for no reason lolololol.
  14. No, I would throw out the twin turbo junk from day 1 and pop on a twin scroll modern single turbo.
  15. Waste of time, to really do it right you need to split it all the way to the throttle bodies. 1x IC per turbo per 3x cylinders. Easier to just go to a single turbo.
  16. @Kinkstaah if someone offered to swap for their M3 F80 LCI I would not say no lol...
  17. Time for an update, same turbo but refreshed motor now with 437.9kW at 1.7bar boost dropping down to 1.5bar towards the redline. Looks like I've maxed out the compressor at this stage. I believe there are some improvements to be had such as venting the gate to atmosphere and deleting the cat. Will be back to get the closed loop boost control dialled in when I have time. Was a pretty surreal experiencing for me as I've never tuned anything this powerful nor anything that revs this high! Alex said I could safely bring the rev limiter to 8600rpm if I wanted to (which I did lol). Ignore the oil pressure, it's reading wrong. I suspect the sensor has the right part number printed on it but it's actually a 5 bar sensor (not 10 bar). Here's a video my mate recorded of me tuning, you can see I'm constantly looking at Alex to see if I need to abort the run. Previously there was a misfire event that sounded like engine knock from where he was standing. I took out the plugs then gapped them down to 0.4mm and it sure did the trick!
  18. Now with a fresh alignment, a lot less toe in at the rear now as it's no longer needed (subframe offset by 10mm upwards). Front toe touched up and I think I'm some what ready for All Jap Day, which might end up being cancelled due to the rain.
  19. 4D table allows you to say have the slider at 0%, 25%, 60%, 80% ethanol as an example, giving you multiple maps if you will. Also removes the need to do arithmetic when you're tuning, no need to go ahh I need to add 11 to my base table cell of 8 to give me 19. I "think" it makes tuning a bit easier, however still yields exactly the same results as using the conventional compensation tables as you and I are both well versed on.
  20. Hey @Murray_Calavera the car has always been on full flex I stopped using compensation tables and have moved to a more 4D table approach, where the slider dictates which map I am on (anything in between is interpolated).
