  1. Yeah I had that location in mind at first but unfortunately it's where the fuel tank sits on the r33/34, the floor pan in front of the tank is also lower than the front, so the lowest point of the cooler will be sitting lower than the bottom of the chassis rail and be as low as the bottom of the exhaust Here's a photo of it when I first trial fitted it
  2. Hrm it sits slightly above the bottom of the chassis rail and the side sill. Plus the car isn't that low, so im not so worried about the height. You can see from the photo that the dump pipe and gearbox both sits lower than that and Ive never had clearance issues Most Volkswagen diesels have their fuel cooler sitting at the bottom like this, albeit different style and positioned in between two rails which is probably more ideal
  3. Thanks GTSboy, thought about making an aluminum duct for it and slightly angle the rear side down so air will have somewhere to go But do you see any potential hazard? Like rocks hitting it or do you think it's unlikely?
  4. And here's a photo of the cooler test fitted Haven't finished making the bracket yet, will make a bracket to hold the fuel cooler to the sill once I'm sure that's where I'd place it. Any feedback on potential hazard or suggestions of other better location is welcomed Placement of cooler was inspired by vw golf diesel models
  5. Fuel cooler placement, R34 GTT Hi all, Having rewired the fuel pump, the 040 buzzes pretty hard when the fuel is warm, usually only takes less than 30 min drive in summer and maybe under around 1 hr in winter before it starts screaming, so I thought I'd add a fuel cooler on the return line. Trying to find somewhere to put the fuel cooler wasn't easy though, basically a few things I had in mind: not drilling any holes on the chassis not keen to put it in front of the car- explosions on collision The best I could find was under the floor pan below the drivers seat along the chassis rail- what do people think of this location? this is where I found:
  6. Interestingly there is a mechanical valve that comes off the PS pump on the banjo that controls the idle. I've taken that off and blocked it when I changed my pressure line, just raised the idle a little My guess is the one on the rack is could be for variable steering assist? Could be a HICAS model vs non HICAS model difference? These r34s are a bit more complex than r33 I found...
  7. Sorry my bad Had a look at my car last night and there IS a brown plug on the rack Can't really see the plug but you can see the harness coming out of the rack There is another plug on the high pressure line tho, might be that?
  8. The plug should go on the hard line before it enters the rack, not on the rack itself, trace from the high pressure line and you should be able to find it, I think it's near the oil filter area My r34 steering rack definitely didn't have any sensor or valve and it's a manual
  9. Price drop on boost controller- $300 Dump pipe free to a good home
  10. Early 30s clean record for the last 10 years since 2005 and lives in north Sydney - just paid 880 for 12mths for the r34 GTT with GIO a week ago What am I doing wrong here lol
  11. Evo caliper is 4 pot no? So 4 pot front and 6 pot rear? Same rotor diameter? Wouldn't this affect brake force distribution?

  13. Ordered mine from Dosey, good service too! had it sent back to me within a couple of days plus got a map uploaded and settings preset so I could pretty much fire my car up straight after install!
  14. Yup please, keen to see how it turns out and btw ditch that 2.5 inch decat and get a 3 inch to match the diameter of the rest of the system lol Does it drive like standard turbo on low rpm? Good response?

  16. sorry to hear Exact same thing happened to my mate's super clean r33 gtst too in 2005 when the r33s were going for around 20k still, except it was hit by a kingswood and the kingswood fled the scene. Police wasn't much help back then. It's a shit thing to go through and I definitely know how you feel
