  1. yes, skaife and seto together in 2010. call it mark skaife racing (like all the other heavy thinkers in motorsport do) and keep tommy well out of it. they can paint their commodores poo brown and sht on the rest of the field. then team up for bathurst and do us all proud!
  2. yeah, bye bye to the Dude. funny, in the program they called him "the dirty, dangerous dude". i've never seen anyone call him that to his face! afaik it has always just been 'the dude' many would agree that he liked to ride a bit on the dirty and dangerous side though... and yes, you did say thanks, you're one of the better of my fans. like I said before, I'm sure all the bullshit with TW and loosing his grip on HRT has been a bit part of skaife's poor race finishes this year. it's a miracle he was able to get in the car at all with all that shit hanging over his head. no wonder he wasn't having any fun, and didn't have any focus. uncle tom should really be called uncle cnt. he never does tire of fking people over does he. he's really screwed skaife over very nicely just like he's done many times before to folk in aus motorsport. I'm surprised he can even get a visa to come here with his form.
  3. I went out there yesterday. It was a really good day, and pretty sad too. any facility that can be enjoyed by over 30,000 people on one day needs to be kept. wakefield is miles away and is like a large go-kart track. eastern creek is a motorbike track and not exactly excitement city. oran park is great fun to drive, and great fun to watch. you can walk pretty much the whole way around the track and get right up close to the action. at some spots you are about 2 meters from the track and can still see multiple corners. and it's close-ish to sydney. i'm sure 8 years ago when they made this oran park town deal they thought we needed more housing as we were in the middle of a boom. but now the housing market is flat, no one has any money and the last thing we need is artificial suburb an hour out of sydney with no infrastructure there to support it. It's fkign bullshit. we need that race-track. the government should have stepped in and bought it. they could have sold most of the land surrounding it as farmland or industrial and used that money to fund the needed track and facility upgrades to make it a truly great facility. Anyway, I rocked in and straight away bumped into skaifey. We had a little chat and he signed some stuff for me. he was a trooper. I saw him a few times throughout the day and every chance he got he was out of the garage talking and signing stuff for fans. and what really pissed me off is I didn't hear a single one of them say 'thanks' it was all "sign this, and take a picture that" not "thanks mark, much appreciated". no wonder people get the shits and don't bother coming out to sign stuff. Anyway, his last race was a top effort. he made 14 places in 40 odd laps which is not easy at oran park. he really did put on the show he promised us. He's been such a great driver and in my eyes a great guy too. good bye skaifey, the sport will be worse off without you mate. as it will be without oran park. sad day all round.
  4. nice progress guys. the cradle looks great. the rear end stability under brakes seems to be one of the big things everyone has trouble with in 32s. they can be pretty nervous under hard braking and trail braking? forget it unless you want to 360 the thing into every corner! but I reckon with the cradle mods it should be a hell of a lot nicer and more stable.
  5. umm, don't walk into nissan for a warranty claim if you blow the motor like haltech did. do you really think haltech would have been given a new motor under warranty? on a car that had aftermarket ecu and exhaust, a car that had increased rev limit, boost increase, more timing and blew up on a race tracK? I honestly can't see how they would have been any better off with an aus car. and it's beside the point anyway, because at the moment you cannot buy an aus car. there are exactly 0 of them here.
  6. one pice of advice consider booking the saturday for practice day if possible. lots of interstate guys and even locals will want to make a weekend of it and get some practice in on the saturday to familiarise themselves with the GP layout. oh, and it will be another big success i'm sure.
  7. your holes are always fked fatz. i've know this for years.
  8. mate, to be honest I think the prodrives you have on there are nice. it's good to have something a bit different. don't get me wrong, TE37s are one of my all time favourite wheels but probably 1 in 4 GTRs runs on them now. they are like the default GTR wheel! nice car though
  9. 255 is suitable for a 9 or even better a 9.5. 7.5 is far too narrow for a 255. you are looking at a 215 or 225 on that rim.
  10. bump. keen to get rid of this over the weekend. I have so much stuff lying around it's not funny.
  11. they are all much of a muchness. i've used nismo and tomei and hks. if I had to buy one now, I think i like nismo the best. dunno why, I just have an image of them being slightly nicer quality. but in reality there is bugger all between them.
  12. glad to be of inspiration! it's great fun doing a build in japan. that car was a great result and the japanese workshops i've dealt with have been excellent service wise. like all workshops they don't always deliver on time, but they do always deliver what they say they will. and they have great attention to detail too. I've done a similar thing, but on a smaller scale with the RX7 RZ. for that one just a full rebuild (new housings etc the whole hog) and a mild 'street port' that the owner of pre-stage is best for great low down torque and good power. that build when great too, and I still have the car. it runs so nicely and the low down torque it makes is astounding. it makes more power and torque down low than a stock GTR. it feels so responsive on the street. anyway, your car will be great when it's done. you'll have to take me for a spin either on hokkaido or when you send it down under!
  13. you may not need either. there is factory rear camber adjustment. just not much of it. try that first. if you still need more adjustment buy upper control arms and traction rods. that will enable you to adjust camber. no you don't need to also get the lower control arms.
  14. do not get the ones that simultaneously expannd 12 and 20. they are crap and are probably why you get bad reception. you want one that only shifts 18mhz. that is the best solution. trust me. having owned dozens of cars with jap stereos and tried heaps of different band expanders, the only one worth having is the 18mhz one (well in nsw at least could be different in other states).
  15. oh, I know the answer to this one. yes the 33 was run, but I'll leave it up to russ to give his thoughts on it. all I'll say is that a T51R is a tad different to the nice twin set-ups they are used to.
  16. yeah 4.3 will be nice. the commodore ones are just stupid.
  17. haha, Jack wins. now fk off out of here smartarse!
  18. well plenty of people shelled out over $100K for R34 GTRs when they were freshly imported and they had no warranty. and 10 years ago I would say $100K is easily equivalent to $170K today. Plus any new ferrari we are talking more than double that. I mean what's a base F430 these days? $400K? I don't think anyone would deliberately do something to void warranty but plenty of people will need to turn off VDC which according to nissan does void warranty. and plenty of people will want small mods like a chip, or exhaust etc which again probably voids warranty. plus from the number of R35s out there, reported problems have been so very tiny. and the cars with breakages were all heavily abused, heavily modified or both. so there was no chance for those guys to claim faulty car. it was faulty ownership! munkyboy is right though. most of the guys I know seriously looking at, or already purchased R35s warranty is not top of their list of concerns. they want it delivered in a timely fashion (one thing nissan has failed to do) and they want all the performance etc that is promised. and many of them do want to mod it, track it etc.
  19. yes condensation can cause white smoke. though it could be oil burning too. which is not good...
  20. mighty tempting. I do like $39.05 and there's no telling when I'll need another kidney. I mean, you can't predict when hanibal lecter will pop in for dinner and the bugger is always hungry for kidney and a bottle of chianti. buuutt I think I'll hold out a bit longer yet.
  21. best option, just buy a local CD tuner. you can get a decent CD player with MP3, aux in etc for under $150 these days. or band expander, $20. get the 18 mhz one if you are in sydney.
  22. they already are available cheaper... I have one available for about $170odd K on the road. so anywhere from $20K-$30K cheaper than this one. with about the same options too.
  23. what diff ratio you running mate? and what are the 6 speed ratios? I know the commodores have silly gears in the 3s so pretty much any skyline ratio from the 3.9:1s to the 4.4:1s will be a big difference and should work well.
  24. mine is a POS AND rusted. you should buy it. i'll even do you a deal. $36K. but you get all my parts too (brand new nur crate motor, w cams, headwork, trust sump, GTS4 gears, nismo 2 way, brand new ARC cooler, brand new HKS turbos, brand new tomei mani's, tomei dumps, HKS front pipes, trust 94mm Vband exhaust, BBS LMs, enkei NT-03s, Weds TC05s and on and on..). do it.
