  1. great looking set-up mate. it will be some serious fun to drive and no doubt pretty quick on track too.
  2. don't lie, you love jockey's knob... you gonna slap those 34 rims on ya ford or what?
  3. you dug out a 3 week old thread to post that? good one..... i'm sure the un-funny racist jokes will go down just as well on the forum as they do in real life.
  4. you know more about turbos than is healthy.... but I love you anyway discopotato.
  5. good comparison. the CA makes a fair bit more power but the SR would definitely be punchier on the street. at 3500rpm the SR has 110kw vs 60 for the CA. and at 4000rpm it's 165kw vs 100kw. but at 5,000rpm you've got the SR with 220kw vs 260kw for the CA. so the CA would be a fairly exciting ride from 4,000 to 5,000 since it more than doubles it's power in 1,000rpm! fair bit of wheelspin in 1st and 2nd i'm guessing. it's still a kick ass budget set-up. now trent, try the same turbo, on an SR with built bottom end and some cams. should make the same if not more power and a bit more response too.
  6. it's a nice kit. bummer about the cost. should have paid when you bought it.
  7. very important point. no point getting a port shrouded/anti-surge cover just for the sound. they are only necessary on set-ups that suffer from surge. otherwise you are losing efficiency for nothing. well for the sake of a noise. it may sound cool, but not as cool your competitors only get to hear it as their car goes blowing past you...
  8. get the water out, then put your cover back on. there is no need to run without it. look at most serious circuit cars. they run WITH the cover. there is no need to take it off.
  9. interesting that on the carandimage forum a new user joined in november and posted this: 02-11-2008, 09:02 PM #14 Andy New Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Rep Power: 0 Andy is on a distinguished road Hi All, Just noticed this on your forum while surfing the net. Myself and 5 mates flew to Sydney last week to meet with the organiser (Jason) as we wanted to enter but thought we would meet the guys first as we too were a bit "suss" as you put it. We have ALL entered as, as far as we could tell its all above board and looks like being an awesome experience! The guy at the head of it has massive car industry and motor sport experience too - Lamborghini Australia general manager till 2005, driven East Coast Targa in a Gallardo, production cars in South Africa with BMW, Porsche challenge South Africa champ 1995 and recently runner up in Mazdaspeed USA MX5 Championship 2006, all on Google. I reckon though that the WRX"s will be CACTUS at the end though!! Any tips on driving at Wakefield guys, as Ive never even been there. Cheers, Andy" sounds almost identical to what new user "andrea" posted when they joined up on SAU (with the same IP as Jason). Andrea joined up and her first post was: "hi everyone, just wanted to let you all know that i like most of you have been more than a little skeptical of this million dollar driver challenge. i have been interested in the event and have spoken to the organisers a few times over the phone but when i saw the offer above i decided to jump on it and try to enter in the 10 special deals being offered. as i am melbourne based i decided to fly to sydney today to see exactly who i was dealing with, as even $3500 is a substantial amount for me to part with. i met with jason sinai who is the organiser and i must say my mind was immediatly at ease - he has massive backing for the event and it looks like being a winner, cars have been ordered, deposits for track time paid and i was even privy to the design of the website which is due to be launched soon, it all looks great. as there is alot of negativity towards th event i thought i would try and set the record straight for the organisers and say that i am delighted to be involved and have my entry in. biggrin.gif" very strange. also quite similar user names. andrea...andy... then after Jase announced the track day win a wrx day "Andy" posted: " Andy New Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Rep Power: 0 Andy is on a distinguished road Like the 1 day track day idea Jason..... Put myself and the boys down for 6 places on the monday please, have emailed you too." and on our forum, Andrea posted: "post 10 Nov 2008, 09:04 PM great to see the 1 day track days going ahead jason. about to email you re our two entries for each day."
  10. happy birthday mate. i have a cold beer awaiting your collection any time you need it.
  11. no worries mate. hopefully for you i've still got it, but hopefully for me I don't!

    Wreckers

very little chance of finding anything like that at a wrecker. i'd say almost zero chance. the only place you'll get something like that is yahoo auctions. it's the only viable way to go.
  13. i thought the worst part of this whole thing is how the media uses it. i was unlucky enough to catch their interview with the kid's mum and that was just horrible. they should leave the poor woman alone. she was completely beside herself and irrational. the whole thing was gross. no one needs to see her private grief.
  14. fking hell, b-manned it already! you're an animal. sorry to hear about your loss B-man. still give it another 14 months it'll be good as new.... well at least you can slap on a smaller turbo and enjoy some powa when it's back on the road. what did it end up making with the lag machine on there though?
  15. i have the same as you andrew. cusco castor rods and noltec uppers. and about the same geometry as well, just a tough less neg camber and a touch more castor. but I'll be going to the ikeya lowers when the car is up and running again. and may change the uppers. not sure yet, i'll see how I go.
  16. sweet. drum of the good oil is looking promising. I did a UOA on chrono 300V in my RB26 some time back and the results were excellent. the oil was good enough to use for a long, long time. it truly is worth the money.
  17. besactly! that was what I was saying (albeit poorly!). what I meant was you get to that point where you need the camber so just have to live without the castor. hmm, maybe I will have to buy the nismo gear and flog all the bits I don't want.
  18. the ikeya ones are adjustable at the inner mounts. a fair bit there too. and they have the roll centre correction adjustment too. and they come with castor rods which are the beefiest thing you've ever seen. like double or tripple the thickness of standard and instead of the stupid 2 stud fixing they have a rose joint where they mount to the LCA and mount in the middle of the LCA with a huge bolt running through. very nice.
  19. yeah the nismo innner mount is a good idea. it's just a shame you can't buy it seperately only with the full kit. and that's no good for most of us who already have castor rods (and want adjustable ones) and upper arms. you're right though, it's a battle in 32s between how much caster you want vs how much camber you can have. I think for ammature circuit type stuff you can probably use a bit more castor and mild-ish neg (2degres-2.5degrees) but once you get serious you really need decent camber and may have to live with a bit less castor. that's been my experience anyway (though i'm by no means serious about anything!).
  20. yeah the UAS ones are money. very good design. they've been coming for a while though, should hopefully be available soon. lol, you and johnny should be friends again, he's not a grudge holding type. either that or for circuit 32 I reckon the gun set-up is: cusco shorter fixed length upper arms ikeya formula adjustable lower arms best way to go.
  21. it is a bit un-nerving to see that dennis350z and andrea who both signed up then posted about how great MDC is and how legit they are both posted from the same IP address which was also used by Jason Sinai. Now there is no point jumping to conclusions, it doesn't 100% mean they are dummy accounts or that it's a scam. it just gives it a little bit of an odour that's all. it's possible (albeit highly coincidental) that they use the same ISP and they share a range of IP addresses or one of a couple of possible explanations. having said that I can't help but notice his website has disappeared. http://www.milliondollardriverchallenge.com.au/ although you can still access pages there if you know the direct link. such as http://www.milliondollardriverchallenge.co...mp-sponsors.php did anyone get the november issue of unique cars? did it have the promised advertisement? http://www.milliondollardriverchallenge.co...ow-to-enter.php http://www.milliondollardriverchallenge.co...es/contacts.php http://www.milliondollardriverchallenge.co...ages/prizes.php perhaps it may be worth sending and email to see what response you get? 22. they might have a booking, but have they been paid? if I was running such a thing, I would of course do exactly what I said I would do. I'd book the track, even pay a small deposit if need be to add some credibility. I'd also ring the suppliers and talk about my order with them too. god I hope it is legitimate. quite a few people I know have ponied up some money. I was super keen to do one of the win a wrx days but had my doubts and decided to stay out. anyway, i'm sure we'll all know one way or another soon enough.
  23. thanks for straightening that out. that was what I suspected. unless maybe there is another one blown but not CRDs? long live the VR38!!
  24. well I can understand that. a GT2 or GT3 is a hell of a lot of car. The R35 is super impressive but it's an 8mil yen car VS the two Porsche's at 4 times that. If money is no object I'd probably take a 911 turbo over an R35 and same goes for the GT2 and GT3 too. In fact of the three I do have a soft spot for the GT3. BUT in the real world I live in, and with a budget to consider the R35 is a damn good deal. it's nearly porsche good for nissan money.
