  1. People need to realise that mph is worked out as a average aswell from start to finish. you can run down the track cross the line at 108 and be doing 108, and next run miss one gear, go across line and be doing 106 or something, but on sheet it will say 100mph. So if you shift the extra gear, it does same sort thing from memory.. cheers darren
  2. haha, shifting to 5th costs big mph and at least 2-3 tenths( and thats only taking into account shift time)....been through this before, and not long ago last time, car went from low 13's straight into the 12.8 's cheers darren
  3. Correct..unless the car is auto..., but you still have to have both..a car with a big area under and no top end will lay over from half track Hanaldo problems sound more like gear response..that will kill mph in a manual car, i lost 6 mph in one of my cars just because it woudn't regain boost after gears immediatly..108mph vs 114mph..lol, that was just 3rd to 4th..before that it was worse in lower gears and was down near 105 or something. That was just caused by a few small boost leaks, but big turbo on fairly small motor, so amplified the problem cheers darren
  4. power looks solid copycutter, what does Shaun think of it? cheers darren
  5. It does but if you made 300rwkw youd be around 118-120mph ish and if you made 370-380rwkw you'd be at 128 mph ish so high mount/low mount/mounted on a donkey, it doesn't matter. Area under the curve power wise changes mph, as does response after gear change ...only on manuals though really , autos "slip" through it Small turbos sometime run similiar/same mph traps to mid track, then fall over from the next half compared to the bigger one
  6. Of to heafgoat Stao..lol cheers darren
  7. thats what i thought, till i read this thread cheers darren
  8. They tried that last time the track was open..as in 8 yrs ago..no one turned up, bet my house same thing would happen again... cheers darren
  9. no such thing as a best dyno..a dyno is a tool for tuning, you want to show hp...its black and 400m long..end of story
  10. Id be fitting water injection, even if you already ran meth/e85/roo16/C16 ...whatever as a primary fuel cheers darren
  11. Cool, let us know how the new tune goes anyway, and if you have any back to idle problems with cams/nistune cheers darren
  12. would depend on trans a lot, autos are a lot smoother,so its less likely to happen, manuals have a harder transition between gears and upset tyres more, its the sudden shock that gets thems spinning in the first place, and once a tyres unloaded its easier to keep it there cheers darren
  13. I've sworn at it a lot lately ..lol cheers darren
  14. what about JW automotive? cheers darren
  15. blow though the exhaust housing and weld on to that.. cheers darren
  16. Just use ACl heatshield...it will cover the lot, theres nothing in a standard heatshield to butcher anyway unfortunately cheers darren
  17. ^^^auto isn't it...260 pon cams ?, boostworx tuning it? If so, be interesting to see how it drives with nistune and cams, mine are sitting here, i am hesistant to use them and Shaun hadn't tuned auto/poncam/34 nistune yet to see what they are like cheers darren
  18. you just want to see black stuff? the engine bay won't be fully put back together till after tune...f**ked if i can be arsed taking of Neo cover , crossover pipe and coil cover to regap plugs during tune (i have them at 1.1 atm and a spark amplifier so want to see how it goes..) cheers darren
  19. Did you ever dyno the HKS mani Stao? cheers darren
  20. Ok, i have only experience with the 2530, last one i did one million yrs ago did 228rwkw on a sr on 98, maxed out, picked up 2rwkw per psi so stopped at 18psi from memory, so on E85 would they do 250 ish?. What peak numbers do the Td05 16G do on a Sr20 on 98 and E85? I ask as my mate has a Datsun L18 in a fairlady , has custom efi mani, a diesel L series cast iron exhaust mani(they come with t25 flange to), um ported head, camtech [email protected], 480 thou lift 116 LSA cam, and a AEM water/methanol injection setup ..we have these 2 turbo to choose from, (2530, and just looked, its a T517z) now if i can recall, doesn't the 2530 spool a little bit quicker, and make just a little bit less top end? cheers darren
  21. whats the Td05-18G like compared to hks2530 scott? cheers darren
  22. for me..no, for you maybe. None of that stuff get really that hot, beside the top cooler pipe..mine doesn't at all as i have water injection. I just wanted something harder wearing than spray cans and cheaper than a spray painter doing 2 pac for a stockish look depends what your aim is, Ceramic coating is a lot more money cheers darren
  23. yep...good to enter, f**k going to watch..lol cheers darren
  24. Just took it to local powdercoaters, they usually do a run of one colour a day , the one i went to does satin black every monday, so if you take there monday morning its back monday arvo. Im really, really happy with it,as it hides everything so well , looks stock , compared to when i first trial fitted it , it all stood out so much... cheers darren
  25. Nice... i powercoated my comp cover satin black and the cooler pipes and scottys intake pipe ..looks stock if thats the look your after.. well worth doing, and only $40-50 cheers darren
