  4. Nobody uses RB74s from Race Brakes anymore. For spirited driving they are not bad things and are cheap. Dusty but they are quiet. If you get over half way through the pad and decide to drive like a lunatic on them they can deteriorate but takes track work really to get them that hot
  5. Legend01 (Pete) sold me on their merits years ago. He was doing his 2.3L when I was first doing my Greddy setup. I always preferred the HKS manifold for having a straighter exhaust flow / keeping heat away from the looms / easier to make good heat shields for / slightly more subtle / and the only cracks they seem to get is in the web of the split pulse flange. With a black Turbosmart gate there is every chance that 90% of people wouldn't spot what is going on and the make engine bays look so clean. Tone down the bling and it all looks pretty std
  6. Disco...stop stressing and just do it...
  7. Based on the above I would be running Pagid RS29s
  8. Have an R33 GTR rear end but need my new shocks back from revalving before it all goes in. Will likely be doing PIARC with std box. Its the only real original part still in the car
  9. A related question. Has anyone gone from std to something like Splitfires and backed off plug gaps? Technically speaking the smaller the gap the less power? Is it possible to get an improvement or just a pipe dream?
  10. Yeh, I only ask about strut brace as if the thing binds and you need to jack the car up to get the droop in the chassis right to bolt it up then you know the strut brace splays the chassis a little. If it aligns ok then it isnt doing anything unusual. I suppose the earlier questions do you feel there is more in the braking but you cant access it because this corner pinches or is it simply always the wheel that locks? A simple test could be to run the front right damper 3-4 clicks softer then the front left and see if it changes the tendency
  11. If you put the car on even ground and remove the strut brace does it bind or align when you free up the bolts? Other thing would be to jack the car and inspect all the joints for wear or flogged out bushes, bearings etc. Anything different side to side.
  12. Yeh, I have been looking for an R34 GT gearbox for years , mostly because of their 5th gear.
  13. I hope Kimi goes toe to toe with Vettel. He probably has the sort of natural feel and pace that can allow him to beat Vettel consistantly. One can only hope. But I hope we get the 2010 Webber back with bit between his teeth and we get a fight for this years WDC. He doesnt have to win it but FFS FIGHT OLD SON!
  14. It does appear that Mateschitz is Mark's biggest backer in the team. All negotiations are direct between Mark and him and for whatever reason they seem to havea good relationship. I recall reading Mark stayed at his holiday get away over summer, an offer not extended to anyone else in the RBR family http://www.foxsports.com.au/motor-sports/formula-one/red-bull-owner-backs-mark-webber-as-candidate-for-2014-seat/story-e6frf3zl-1226611371377#.UVtzNxxTB6k It was said recently that Hamiltons approach was blocked because Dietrish said Mark has first dibs if he wants to keep the seat. So shows the level of support/respect he has for Mark
  15. If you have combed over the brake calipers and done a rebuild on them and cleared/flushed the lines etc and you are still pinching brakes then 75% chance its nto brakes and its actually suspension. About the last brake related thing I would try is swapping the pads over from left to right and right to left. Doubt it will do anything but pad thickness and rotor thickness is about the last variable to consider What shocks are you running? Are they adjustable? Are the dampening settings the same on the front and rear? Are your ride heights correct? Lastly is your swaybar adjusted correctly, is it fouling on sump etc when the car pitches forward? Are your tyres actually round or does your front right have a bit of a flat spot? Ultimately its not overly unusual for one corner to lock up before others. The thing to ask is it prematurely locking when you feel there should be more in the stopping? Some pads are easier to modulate then others...will be interesting to see if you resolve it and what was causing it. Very hard thing to diagnose on the net
  16. Did you replace the Walbro due to outright flow or lack of stability in pressure...or other reason ?
  17. Take that back or I'll glass yah! I hve tracked a Rover Lotus Elise and it was underpowered. The thing was still keeping up with R33 GTRs on street tyres, mostly courtesy to the AO48s it was on. Whilst underpowered the driving was a load of fun. The main problem withthe Rover engines is head gaskets. There are som3 decent enough kits around for them that if you put a good quality head gasket in to replace the std then you are on your way to making a reasonable 180hp or so I have tracked a supercharged Exige at Spa Francorchamps and being a high speed track the s/c Exige did struggle against the GT3 Porsches and 430 Fezz's down the long straights but under brakes and cornering they were mobile road blocks The Exige is a fun and awesome looking car, great handling and stopping car just that they need at least 225hp. If you can get them up around 285-300hp then they are genuinely QUICK cars. Compared to some of the other big banger exotics they are shopping trolley change for servicing and spares/parts. I am a huge fan and on a montly basis have to tell myself that sinking 50k into a 3rd car is poor form I just looked around NZ classifieds and looks like since I will be unemployed in the next 3-4 weeks I should take my next assignment in NZ, just long enough to get a personal import. Any more pics of the chassis and cage etc? This one is silver which makes me WANT IT EVEN MORE
  18. Ordered a 12cm housing for my Td06 last Wednesday and it arrived today. That's twice now Kando gave been great with delivery. The 12cm doesn't look too big. Whilst the 10cm seems to work on everyones T67s setups the lack of availability for my turbo, combined with the fact that the hyper 2 & 2.2L Evos run 10.5cm housings. Well I am hoping a 12cm wont be too bad Will be interesting to compare the 20g with 8cm vs 12 cm and the 10cm T67 vs the billet 12cm TD06. Goes in for tuning on Monday. Going to keep the same dump for the time being but think I will need a 4" dump for T67 and the billet. First the 12cm TD06-20G vs 12cm TD06-73HTA. Hope to pop 320rwkws with the 20G and 350 with the 73HTA
  19. Bump...anybody? Money is burning a hole in my pocket
  20. Seems to be. I read an article not that long back that suggested RBR are well ahead of the other teams (other than Ferrari) and its mostly in part due to Horner who it seems is quite the wheeler dealer. He was the only team manager F1 fella to attend Bernie's wedding and talk is he was the mole in FOTA who used to sing to Bernie. All of which has helped RBR win favorable terms with FOM
  21. So are you going to sell the HKS one

  23. What power does the car have, the weight of the car. And what tyres and times at what tracks do you run. DS2500s are not too bad and with 365mm rotors they would perform reasonably well...up to a point of course. Also , with a brake setup like that depending on what your answers are to the above questions there is no reason why you cant havea pad that works well on the street and track
