  1. All mats had arrived a few days before Xmas except yours jabes, and one VSpec II mat [which now looks like SCRMER's] - these were coming in the very next container to leave japan. I believe that they have left japan now, but haven't yet arrived in Oz. But I am 'a bit in the dark' about it as well because I really haven't heard any more from IM other than what I've copied and posted here. I'll ask them for an ETA on the two remaining mats [again] and see if they respond.
  2. I asked IM to email those missing out Friday before last [22nd] with an apology and an ETA.........poor form that they haven't done it IMO. I am sorry for the delay and their sometimes average service, we always knew [well for the last 6 weeks anyway] that somebody would miss out and have to wait. Jabes volunteered to wait for his mat, nobody with the VSpec II mats did the same so I guess IM made the choice. That side of things was completely out of my hands, not a thing I could do. The only thing I do know is that everybody will get their mats - its not a supply issue just timing - so just be a little patient and it will work itself out.
  3. Just remember that two mats missed the first shipment...........jabes you volunteered to get yours later, and there was one VSpec II mat. I have asked IM to send those that may be waiting an update and ETA for the two extra mats. Last I heard they were in a container and on a ship, so should only be a week or two away.
  4. I wouldn't use it like that, its not worth the hassle - you know you will always doubt it!!! Every stutter, lurch, or engine stall will have your heart jumping. Plus the crack is only going to grow over time.
  5. No replies.........prob cos those noises are really hard to chase + we'd need a lot more info before hazarding a guess. Just so many things in that area it could be, alternator, water pump, idler or tensioner pulley, belts, belt pulleys etc etc etc. You just have to try seeing [disconnecting the belts one at a time, checking the tension etc] or take it to a shop.
  6. Worked for me, only difference is I didn't have MS Gothic so used Courier font and so far it looks fine. [it took me a while to leave XP....lol but eventually I had to bend to the winds of change so skipped straight to 10] And if you have issues try downloading early in the morning, only took me 1 1/2 hours [and I'm on a really slow connection]. I did try at night but it kept stopping and was really slow [+8 hrs], so I gave up on that.
  7. Just to close out this thread, made up a piston stop using an old spark plug tapped out to 3/8 and a 3" bolt through it. I also rounded the bolt end off to remove any sharp edges Took out my sparkplugs, screwed the stop into No.1, removed the rad fan [for top access] and wound the motor backwards and forwards marking the balancer with a paint pen. I then put the vernier caliper across the pen marks back to the '0' mark on the balancer and it was exactly the same both ways. So my balancer hasn't slipped at all. Thanks all for the help.
  8. Everyone that doesn't yet have their mats should be getting an email with delivery requests and/or details.
  9. Its the cat......everybody hates cats!!! get a dog!!!
  10. When you disconnected the battery I meant - was it completely drained when you disconnected. Anyway the spark from connecting jumper leads can be damaging to ECU's. You may have to source another one if its standard, if its aftermarket [apexi, haltech, link etc] then they may be able to repair it, not sure.
  11. ECU issue is my guess. When you disconnected the battery did you hit the brakes and/or turn the headlights on? Just to absolutely drain the system.
  12. Can you confirm the rods used then please?
  13. Reply from IM: Hi, I'm going to be quoting everyone up in the next day or so. I've been on holidays until Monday, so just catching up on the backlog of stuff, didn't realize that these haven't been quoted while I was away. Regards, Roman Import Monster

  20. Found this [after much trawling], but there are challenges cos my motor is in one piece. So i can't set up piston stops. I might be able to use a TDC dial and maybe it will be accurate enough to check for slippage - not accurate enough to set the timing, but if there is no slip then my original timing marks are good enough for checking purposes? http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=29605
