  1. -9 rears with -5 fronts are hks2510s pretty much, some people think theyre ok. i really dont think the billet wheels are different enough to be worth the hassle to change into gtr specific housings though
  2. Another test drive today. Don't have the balls to give it full throttle apparently, however. (4 year old RS3's and no awd doesn't help) Did a pull onto an onramp in second gear. Going back through the logs, i've rolled onto the throttle and only really got to 50%, at which point its reached full boost (9psi) at around 4000rpm and held it all the way to 6500. Gear changes do impress me though, after changing up into third and getting about 25% TPS, took less than 0.2 seconds to recover boost. Still tracking down a few leaks/smells/strange noises however before I'm confident to venture too far and get some better data. End of the day though the boost pretty much matches the throttle line on the logs, its not lagging behind it.
  3. Oh of course, tuner didn't want to leave the 14psi springs in there for the run in. Have a 7 and 5 psi spring that can go into the can and a 4 port controller all wired up there. Just got to sort the intake, exhaust, and a few other little bits and peices out first and verify the controller is working and then it'll be getting the turn it up treatment. Might take a few months however
  4. yes, still just on 98, 7psi spring in the gate; no boost control, and only 9 degrees of timing if i remeber correctly. In the coming days i'll sort out a few gremlins and get the courage up to actually venture a bit further and out into the countryside and get a better idea of how it performs, so i'll have some more detailed thoughts then.
  5. I have the car back. First test drive around the street was positive. Way, way, better tham the old tomei ARMS (that being said that's not a huge compliment) Things making boost easily, can comfortably drive it around the streets with no dramas. It does still feel like a big turbo though, part of me does think that maybe i should have got a 7670. That being said i'm sure that will change with E85 and timing and making more than 400kw with more boost.
  6. no idea, but i wasn't saying if it would or wouldn't be a problem..just that its next to the merge.
  7. Cheers. Finally have some progress too Due to a some personal life issues with the previous workshop, the car is now at different workshop. Its been tuned, and with the turbosmart WG with a 7psi spring and no boost controller, so creeping to 9psi, made 370hp at rears. Apparently on the ramp up on the dyno at least, it already has a couple of psi by 2000rpm. Tuner seemed pretty surprised with it in general. Downside.... lot of valve train noise. Workshop took the cam covers off and had a look, valve clearences are all over the shop (12thou-22thou IIRC). Brand new head... very dissapointed. So waiting on that to be fixed, and my next 2 weeks away at work, to actually get the car back.
  8. pft, that's nothing compared to what the 6boob twin gate manifolds put them Anyway, due to a series of events car is now at different workshop, with the turbosmart WG with a 7psi spring and no boost controller, so creeping to 9psi, made 370hp at rears. 9. Gt2510's are a completely different wheel diameter that gtss from memory? Anyway, this is the sort of question that you do a PHD to answer. so many variables, as a pure thought experiment sure, more blades means more flow, but as blades aren't infinitesimally small that comes into it
  10. Yeah, not as much to do to it as yours, but still the same it sitting at a shop and really over it either way has set in...
  11. Melted the loom, my fault, should have moved it. went and got that fixed at a wiring place as tuner was busy. also had problems with the CAN egt's and O2 sensor, so got those working to. Got some Yaris coils wired in for good measure aswell. Tuner still busy only just dropped it off today.
  12. I know dem feels... mines been something like 16 weeks now
  13. how the heck does a 3076 make 450kw if a 3582 struggles to make that much?
  14. Unrelated, but these look nice, if expensive https://www.turbosource.com/BorgWarner-EFR-IWG-turbine-housing-shield-p/ts-inconel-efr.htm
  15. The 'twins' comparison you see around here is alawys done in the context of rb26 stock location/piping GT28 twins, vs singles. That somewhat skews things. Doing a full custom twins vs full custom single with no constraints (read AC/PS pump in the way) and using EFRs for both you'd probably find the comparison quite different to an 8374 vs -5's for example
  16. are they actually the supplier for the Supercars even? I thought it was just shell vpower branding on the penske cars even though they're actually using united E85 in them?
  17. the lowest power application for the EFR twins is still apretty high power application, so keep that in mind
  18. Personally I'd try leaving the existing turbine and just using a bigger front.
  19. Pretty sure that and all others would be to tall to fit there. Astra one is not light. Would be more than pump+bracket+belt+lines+res A class one looks a tad lighter
  20. They're all about fuel economy at this stage. Adapting them.mght be hard
  21. Quite possibly true however i'm not going for 1200 hp and i'm sure they're still good for the 800odd engine hp i want for mine
  22. Have not yet installed one but from everything i've read the ETS pro should be better than the Ruzic controller, if you can set it up right for your use. Not sure how much better though.
  23. Is it done yet? Also, re coils, interesting. I've seen people say that yaris don't even need the low point cut, just where it curves down behind. Will find out soon.
