R32 Gtr Build In Usa

So wait, you're putting the stuff into the GTS4 shell and turning that into the track car, or turning the GTR into a track car and turning the gts4 into the every day fun car? Also, sorry to hear about the inccident -
Which should I go with GTX2863, 2530, or 2860-5
sneakey pete replied to Trailmix's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
To answer your question, it will slightly change the efficiency of it. Depends on the design. What it won't do is make it a multiple times better, eg 11 blades isn't 10% more flow than 10. Remember the more blades you have the more volume inside the compressor is blade. Doesn't help. Flow is still a function of area and a number of other factors so number of blades is only going to have an smalll change in the characteristics of the compressor. Realistically an optimum design is going to take account of the operation parameters, the housing size and shape as well as the blade design. because garrett or whoever uses x blades in y new design, doesn't mean that x blades will be better in an older, different, compressor. -
EV14 Injectors evolving .

Where do ID injectors sit in the relative quality to these developments? -
More likely to be coolant leaking out the intake manifold gasket i'd have said, eg lower left of photo?

VCT is awesome, but on an auto making 600kw would want more lift than 9mm, and for actual driving under the pump bigger duration with a lot more lift would be the go. Best is best of both worlds, similar specs with VCT! Got a ati... 1000 or 800 or whatever the higher spec one is. AC works which is a benefit however its overdriven 33% so need to be careful about it being on or off. Do wonder if i could have gone for the smaller one, on the other hand i'd like to be able to rev it to 9000 for when i'm feeling stupid, and doing launches etc sometimes and I expect that is where it would be a more critical difference. cams wise, no VCT on the 26 head unfortunately, but I have unigroup 260x11mm cams which seem to be pretty amazing.

Power ratings on balancers is one of the most stupid things ever in my opinion. Also, is 268x9 really the biggest VCT cam you can get?

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
sneakey pete replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm happy with mine also but coming from Tomei ARMS that wouldn't be a glowing endorsement did take it for a bit of a moutain squirt last week and its great, no 'to large to be fun' issues... and (once i get e85/boost) will have a shitload of power for whenever else i want it -

might plot that tomorrow arvo if i get a chance. Note the one i already plotted was -5's with vcam. -

For what its worth, going on boost curves etc, i'd expect my 2.8/9.5:1 8374 to be to the left of the -5 curve. But its hard to say if street feel would line up on a dyno etc. But yes if i had another spare 5000 i'd get vcam. -

Given r32-25t has posted a dyno of his -5's with vcam on the same dyno presumably as this i thought i'd put them together for interests stake. Of course if ramp rate was different etc might cause comparison issues but i figure this is better than most considering its same dyno and a short period of time apart. -

This would be practically no different to the IWG housings, and i'd be pretty confident that it would be as good as twin gates. What stumps me is when people do have a split pulse manifold and the single gate isn't divided.. -
R33 GTR - upgrade advice needed
sneakey pete replied to MrSquigle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its still fair to say if you were looking at both brand new you'd just get the 9s -

R33 GTR - upgrade advice needed

In before everyone says do single turbo. Because seriously, do single turbo if you want to get that sort of power and maintain street driveability. If you really, truly must maintain twins: -9s HPI dumps plazmaman cooler good injectors good aftermarket ECU headstuds/gaskets This might just make your desired power on 98, might also not but they're smaller turbos so shouldn't hurt your driveability much. Would suggest you go for a ride in a car with -5's on 98 and determine if that meets your driveability criteria before considering that size turbo -
Personally, I hate how they sound and would plumb mine back in regardless of the law.... i'll go now.

Upgraded Fuel System Questions
sneakey pete replied to WantGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I guess with raceworks you'd be up around 900 bucks instead of 1250 or so wouldn't you, so a little cheaper I suppose?- 59 replies

Upgraded Fuel System Questions
sneakey pete replied to WantGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Twin intank pumps using the Frenchy's kit are the way to go for any kind of street car Not cheap but by the time you do a proper surge tank setup you'd be coming off with a similar cost... and a setup in your boot.- 59 replies

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
sneakey pete replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
300rwkw on 10 PSI seems odd to me.. given i was only making ~270 on 9 psi on a 8374... Maybe there's something i've missed? if it comes down to a comparison of a 7670 1.05 and 8374 .92 being very similar turbos on 2.7-2.9L RBs... I'm still happy with the IWG one just from a ease of install point of view. 4 bolts, 4 lines, 2 hose clamps and a vband, 3 vac hoses and a plug and she's completely in/out; all of it nice and easy to get to. -

very interested to see what i'll be getting with boost control setup on mine. Just using the WG (turbosmart) only getting 14psi at 4000ish RPM, i wonder if there's something else in my setup bringing it back a little compared to yours, or something that i'll pick up in the tune... Need to get the engine back in and get cracking I think -
New Garrett Gtx2860R / 2863R / 2867R

Still maintain i would like to see tomei ARMS with a GTX3071 grafted in somehow. But then again just get a bigger single -
Yes but i'm not convinced it would be worth it in terms of effort to make it fit and power compromises that would probably be involved.

GCG has you covered. https://gcg.com.au/petrol-performance/performance-4/turbochargers-kits/nissan-rb26dett-bolt-on-turbo-set-gtx28r-series-detail Still not to take away from any of the other issues but if you absolutely must have 500awkw with stock housings you're probably not going to get better than that. -
I actually had in my mind the sizes of the larger one (660) as the size of the smaller. Still, the 550 is the same size compressor/turbine as the -5, so barring the slight reduction in inertia from the webbing of the turbine disc being removed lag would be similar. Airflow would be greater but this could prove a challange to manage with restricted pipework etc. Now, if the release a G20-440 or something like that.. that has -5 flow in a smaller size... that'll be a good candidate.
-
Gut feeling is that these would be a bit big for twins... At least for a direct comparison to -5's. More like enhanced -10s
