  1. Nice build thread mate love the car. Apart from actual engine specs you're heading towards the same type of setup I have just put on my 32. Shame it's not running yet so I can't give you any helpful advice on what I could've done better lol. Anyway will be looking forward to more progress reports and hopefully I'll get mine up and running by the time your finished lol.
  2. Nice work man. This is exactly what I wanted to do 3 years ago but after looking for a decent 32 with a 25 or 26 already fitted I ended up buying a GTR. Still would've loved to do this widebody conversion. Good luck I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
  3. Hey man how much for the bootlid freighted to Kingston Tas 7050? Any pics?
  4. Hey man dont have an R32 boot by any chance?
  5. I'd be keen if my cars going by then but March onwards would suit me better.
  6. Yeah I shouldnt say it CAN'T be baked just not the best idea if the quality of the fiberglass isn't too good. Nothing is as dissapointing as leaving a freshly painted bumper in an oven and finding that airpockets have blown out cause you've baked it. Depending on how bad it is you can trim extra material or add some if it's too low in area's or in some cases (like my little brothers front bumper) where it simply just doesn't fit I had to cut both sides just below the indicators almost all the way down and fit the bar to the car where it needed to go then glass it back together while it was on the car. Also removed two raised sections below the intercooler to give it a better look.
  7. It takes time because like you've said in your estimations each part of the process has to be done step by step. Having said that they wont have one person working on your car all day every day for 10 days they'll get someone to remove your original kit, test fit the new kit, make any alterations if they need to, send it to the painters to prep ready for priming, they'll have to sand it all down, fill in any pinholes if it's a fiberglass kit, wait for that to dry, sand them off, prime it, leave that for a day or two to dry, sand the peel out of the primer, give it a second sand (wet or dry rub depending on how they do things) to get it smooth enough for paint, match the colour, set it up in an oven, prepsol each part, tackrag then paint, each coat of basecoat takes 5-10 minutes to dry, if they're fussy they'll denib the basecoat before the last coat, then apply 2 coats of clearcoat (with flash off time in between), then they will need to leave it 2-3 days to set because you cant bake fiberglass and if you've ever handled freshly painted parts that haven't been baked they're soft as shit and scratch really easily, then the panelbeater will fit the car up once they're dry enough, then the painters will check the job over and denib any imperfections in the clearcoat and polish them, then the detailer will give the whole car a clean for you. They're also gonna allow themselves a day or two for any problems that may come up so they don't have to call you and say actually it's gonna take another few days. As you can see there is a fair bit involved in the whole process and while yes there are some body shops that could get it done quicker/ cheaper if I had an R34 GTR id let them take all the time they need to get the job done right.
  8. Hey man good to see this is still getting some attention. Just a quick question that lower splitter thats above your plywood and attaches to your stock lip on the GTR bumper any chance you could send me a few photos of how it attaches to the lip? It's just that I'm half way through making something very similar out of fibreglass for my car but am kind of stuck for how to attach it. Thanks in advance and cant wait to see that splitter once it's finished!
  9. Hey Gary thanks for the praise. It's still a long way from where i want it to end up but it'll get there. And no I havent had it on the dyno still waiting to get my engine back from the engine builders (for the second time) once they put in the new oil pump. Dont worry I'll have more pics than you can poke a stick at when it's running! And good luck with your future build.
  10. Well done man good to see another GTR getting the love it deserves. My engine took me 3 days to remove the first time although 8 hours of that was trying to split the gearbox from the motor (had no idea about the pull type clutch fork lol) But dont worry it gets better everytime you do it. Only took me 5 hours last time although i did cheat a bit and cut out the radiator support and leave the gearbox on.......
  11. Also you'll find it'll mostly lineup with the spot welds along the seam of that lip that was folded back up. Therefore when rolling them it'll push out more where the spot welds are.
  12. They're a nice looking skirt aren't they. I'm not sure what brand they are but I have TRUST GRACER skirts on my 32 GTR and they're a similar style but a hell of a lot more pumped out than femnos. I didnt like them at all when I first bought the car with the original rims but with big wheels I think they look great. Unfortunately I haven't got any decent pics with the new wheels on though as the car hasn't been in a photo worthy state for 3 years lol.
  13. Not sure man I'm gonna go have a look at it this arvo. Matt talked about modifying it up but I'm not sure whether I want to take that risk. I'll see what he reckons. Cheers man yeah I'm gonna stick with the twins and I'll definately see this through to the end just may take me a while longer than I had hoped lol.
  14. Well had a phone call from the engine builders today and it turns out my $1200 TRUST oil pump is a $50 chinese piece of shit! At least it's good to know the cause of all my problems but now I need to buy another oil pump with limited funds lol.
  15. Well like always I ignored the car for twice as long as I intended but I finally got around to pulling out the engine and taking it back to the engine builders for them to have a look at the oil pump issue. Turns out the TRUST oil pump I bought off a member on here looks like a chinese ripoff! The pressure relief valve needs to open 16mm to fully open up but can only travel 9mm before it hits the bung. Also only has an RB25 pressure spring in it. Turns out you get f**ked over when you TRUST some people lol. $1200 down the drain! Oh well got to laugh I guess. So now I'm just trying to decide what pump to use without breaking the bank. Builder says N1 should be fine I'm thinking either N1 with reimax gears or NITTO but either option has me looking either side of a grand. Car may turn out to be slightly less track and slightly more street depending on which pump I choose lol. Decisions decisions.
  16. Not too sure about the trust one but I had a Hi-Octane one welded onto my 26 sump and it doesnt have any clearance issues at all. I'm fairly sure the trust one would be the same but you should get someone who knows what their doing to fit it just to make sure it's in the right place.
  17. Yeah just like you don't marry the town bike "for obvious reasons" I wouldn't buy that car lol.
  18. I was very lazy and only just pulled it out last thursday. It may stay twin yet if no one buys this kit.
  19. Didn't you end up with the other set? They're the thing thats going to be hardest to part with thats for sure. It is a great kit I've just got my sook on because I've already taken turbo's on and off this car 4 times and now I have to do it again I really cant be f**ked. Plus I said that if I ever took them off again I'd go single and I'm worried my car will keep presenting me with problems till I do as a form of punishment lol.
  20. Hi Guys I have just spent the last 2 years building up my R32 GTR and bought everything to run twin Garrett 2860-5's. This setup has NEVER been used other than 10-15 minutes of running at idle. The car hasnt been driven so it is as new. I had to remove my engine again yesterday and have decided I want to go single instead of sticking with the twins. So I want to sell/swap this setup. Everything is made for a 32 but would probably fit 33 as well. Kit includes: -Brand new Garrett 2860-5's only run for 20 minutes MAX at idle x2 -Custom stainless low mount stock position manifolds x2 -Xforce split stainless dump pipes bought second hand but in excellent condition also heat wrapped x2 -Stainless y-pipe I think it's 2.75 into 3.25 but i'll check -Complete custom 3 inch stainless piping turbo's to airflow metres to stock blowoff valve hard pipe -Custom 3 inch alloy pipe from twin turbo pipe to cooler -Factory 2 into 1 twin turbo pipe -All oil lines, water lines, oil drains, metal gaskets, silicone joiners, clamps etc. full bolt on package. The manifolds we're made By Ryan Capel from Capel motorsports and are of the best quality stock position low mount manifolds around. The only other car with these manifolds is the car that used to be known as "TWOOGLE" My mate did all the piping and it looks really good in the engine bay I have only shitty just jap mushroom filters on at the moment but the piping was made with the 150mm hks mushroom filters in mind. I'm looking to put on a high mount GT35/40 on it so if anyone out there is thinking of swapping back to twins then hit me up and we could work something out. I know I'm obviously not gonna get all my money back but I'd like to offset most of the cost so I'm looking for around $3400.
