  1. Last time I asked Nissan about the availablity of Matic S; the service manager denied it's existence, I actually had to show him a picture on my phone. He had no idea, so how many other service depts don't know? I'd be using it if they'd stock it; but who knows when that will be...
  2. As Cam says, the Nulon is fine, but I found 2 x 5lt bottles of Nissan Matic J was actually cheaper than 3 x 4lt bottles of Nulon, or even 2 x 4lt + 2 x 1lt. You need around 9lt for a full flush so you'll also have a little left for top ups later. I'd do the sums first, but frankly a small difference in price wouldn't be enough for me to go away from the OEM..
  3. Spotted silver C34 in Springwood town centre tonight. Hey mate!
  4. I believe the late Z33 (350Z) base model used a twin piston sliding caliper on a 320mm x 30mm rotor that will fit; and also go under the AR-X rim. I have no idea how much they would be, or how hard they are to find.
  5. Exactly, the price (and spec level) would've placed it above their "Halo" (V8 SS/SSV sedan & sportwagon variants) product; thus moving to the top of the heap. They would've effectively short circuited their core product, which as you say; is doing it fairly tough now. I wonder if it's starting to look better to the beancounters now?
  6. If Holden sold these; who would even break stride to look at a Commodore?
  7. Nismo Coppermix twin plate?
  8. I normally just use Kerosene on a soft cloth to clean up chain lube & tar spots; then wash straight after. Might give this stuff a go.
  9. Pushing the caliper pistons back is part of the pad replacement process, and shouldn't affect the actuator. When brake pressure is applied, it operates at over 500psi; pushing back the pistons won't do anything untoward.
  10. Frankly, if the head bolts stretch; even a million dollar gasket won't save you. At least the Nissan gasket is a known quantity; sort the clamping issue and the problem will likely be gone.
  11. Lol, only joking... It'll be interesting to have a proper look with the heads off, to see how bores, piston crowns & heads look after the number of km's you've done at your elevared power level.
  12. This is your new target; kgo.
  13. So I guess the $300 I paid for R34 GT-t calipers, pads, clips, shims and an untouched set of rotors is pretty good then...
  14. Definitely with you on this; one of my favourite bits of the track gone. Coming over the top, cranked hard over on the knee slider, on the gas was the highlight of most track days...
  15. Nice work guys! Well done Alex on a 13 first time out! Time for that LSD and the front shaft; there's obviously a fair bit more in it with some stall and more traction. I'd really like to get out next Wed if anyone is keen; would've loved to go last night, but work gets in the way...
  16. Good luck lads; the cold air would've been great tonight!
  17. Same here, but after all the AFM failures I've gone to a dry cotton filter. Checked my AFM, and it was perfectly clean, but I don't go bezerk with the oil either.
  18. You'd have to be an idiot not to go for the NUR brakes if you can get them for a sensible price. They will be a Brembo caliper with 325mm x 30mm rotors v's Sumitomo calipers with 310mm x 30mm rotors.

You could also drill through the head with a 6.5 or 7mm drill (larger than thread diameter) and the head will just break away from the thread. Then just grab the thread & wind it out. Might save belting away or scratching hell out of hinges?
  20. Now that's a pod filter... You know your dump pipe is industrial when it has a built in lifting eye...
  21. Spotted a Black Gallardo on the M4 today; damn I wish I was rich...
  22. Yeah, yeah; what would you know about fast R32's anyway... Never got the whole pod filter thing...
  23. Will there be opportunities to hand out random insults to Trabant owners? If so; I'm in!
