  1. That's why I abandoned my original plans & went looking for R34 GT-t brakes. For a daily driver; I couldn't see the benefit of spending a shiteload of cash to buy rotors that I then had to modify anyway, just for a few extra mm of dia. I'm sure the Brembo's are pretty special; but for the dollars, they'd want to be.
  2. Brembo rotors are 324mm x 30mm, not 32mm. The only Skyline rotor that is 32mm wide is the R32 GTR with Sumitomo calipers (296mm x 32mm). You need to go to the Akebono 355mm rotor to get a 32mm wide rotor.
  3. Yeah, I understand what you're saying Cowboy; but it doesn't make their shitty arse covering attitude any easier to swallow. Also I'm pretty sure the OP said that it had already been marked with paint; so they WERE aware that it posed a potential danger. It also contradicts their quoted policy, with regard to them not having previous knowledge of the defect. And given it still hasn't been touched except to slap some paint on, surely 2 months is ample time to arrange repairs (even temporary patching) to a road that has damaged a vehicle? If they have a policy, and they are in contravention of that policy; then they are liable. It cannot possibly hurt to get some advice on the matter; if the advice suggests that it isn't worthwhile to proceed, or will cost more than it's worth, at least he knows. What's the worst that could happen? They've already said no; it's not there's much to lose. A while back, I had a serious road defect outside my house after the local council dug up the gutter; this allowed rain to erode the substrate beneath the road surface until a hole almost a foot and a half wide, and nearly 2 feet deep appeared. The thin crust of asphalt was the only thing covering it. I reported it numerous times, and got the run around every time; until I reported it (In email form) with supporting photographs. They finally sent an inspector who promptly near shit himself when he saw the scale of the damage. The inspector intimated that the RMS would definitely have been liable for any damage due to the scale of the degradation. But I don't imagine that they would happily admit that without a convoluted process of misdirection and delaying tactics; much like the one presented to me when I tried to find the best person to deal with my initial reporting of the defect. This is how government departments work. Just because admitting fault would set a dangerous precedent; doesn't mean they are not actually at fault. If nothing else; it's certainly a cautionary tale, but why not fight a little to see if the squeaky wheel gets some grease?
  4. The thing is, it's a road defect. It doesn't matter if it's a hole, a hump or a Space Shuttle sticking out of the ground. If a hump in the road is high enough to tear a piece off the undercarriage of your car ; it's big enough to to be unsafe.
  5. How convenient; they investigate themselves and are miraculously blameless! So they weren't aware of the pothole prior to its existence; amazing! "No one told us about a defect in a roadway we are supposed to inspect and maintain; so it's not our fault" Sorry, am I missing something? So if you have plausible deniability in a situation that no-one else (except you) can investigate; you're off the hook! I call bullshit. Go see a traffic lawyer and find out what you can do.
  6. If you want to go OX with those, I can sort the others.
  7. Spotted Rosella driving in the pissing rain in Faulconbridge, flashed you, hey mate!
  8. Nice one Cam; looking forward to some pics. Ahem, and +1 for turbo.
  9. Mine is making friends with a QLD plated silver, Aero kitted M35 in the Lappo Pub carpark. If you're on here, G'day!
  10. Ok Ryan, you might have to wait a couple of weeks, as I've sold all eight that I have completed. The demand is more than I was expecting. Yeah, the issue is putting quite tight bends in such thin wall tubing without collapsing the wall. To keep them light, I'm using 1.6mm wall CrMo tube; it's fearsomely stiff, so I have to lay a decent bit of heat into it to bend it without kinking. I've made a couple of dies for the bender, but I'm just not very happy with the result.
  11. Try the steering rack ends. If worn, they will knock over bumps. What is with the "guys could not find anything"? You took them for a drive to show them the noise right? If not, you need to. It doesn't sound like it's very hard to "find"; just drive the car... If there is a knock, they need to fix it, they don't knock from the factory. Sounds like they might be giving you the run around, so you fix it yourself. These guys are qualified mechanics right? You shouldn't need to make the suggestions; they get paid by their employer to do that. Best of luck.
  12. Whew! Spent the whole day in the garage, giving my Ebay TIG welder a hiding! All PM's replied, and people who requested PM's; check your inbox. Thanks for your support everyone; I don't think you'll be disappointed. Cheers, Dale.
  13. Volkswagen Goes Crap?
  14. Beautiful car mate.
  15. It was just a picture from the net ; didn't notice until I'd posted it that the knob is polished not satin finish. Mine was the real thing. Anyway, back to Nismo...
  16. Cheers, Haydn; yours is first to go.
  17. Sorry about the delay in getting these completed after the little tempter on Scotty's car. As some of you may know; this is a copy of the OX Motortsport Chassis brace. Mine are TIG welded in Chromoly tube (as opposed to the alloy construction of the OX Motorsport version) and painted black. The weight of these is almost identical to the Alloy version. It really stiffens up the front end of the M35, allowing your suspension & swaybars to work their best. It is a great value little mod, that is basically invisible once fitted. It comes with all mounting hardware and can be fitted at home with basic hand tools in around 20 mins. I have some completed, and waiting paint right now, and I'm asking $150 each; delivered anywhere in Australia. They'll be ready to go early next week. Pics straight off the jig; There is another brace for the centre of the rear subframe, but it is extremely labour intensive to manufacture, and I'm not comfortable with the price what I'd need to charge to make it worthwhile. If there is enough interest, I will also be manufacturing a brace for the rear mounting points of the rear crossmember, but this will be a little further down the track. Let me know in this thread, or by PM if you would like one of these. Also; A big thanks to both Iain for his generosity in loaning me the braces, and Craig for his assistance.
  18. This is the puppy I had; But I like the other style too! So much awesome in this thread.
  19. The only thing near Oran was some cows & grass... Screw Harrington Park; it's a stupid suburb anyway. They deserve to have to live there now.
  20. Duracon gearknob in my old 31; loved that thing. Nismo sticker on my toolbox gives it an aura of awesome.
  21. Give it to a machinist to stick in a lathe and turn the dia. down; cut new thread, you're done. Either that, or buy an aftermarket knob that attaches with 3 grub screws around the base, fit the appropriate sleeve to the I.D. and away you go.
  22. Did you check the end tanks of the cooler for a blockage; rag, plastic bag, etc?
  23. Lol, I love that Amazon. I believe that's a 760 twin cam motor, so there can't be too much wrong there. In the article I read about it; the builder actually works for Koeniggsegg; which certainly explains the origin of some of the components, and also the build quality.
  24. Many a day spent on the hill with a cheap bbq and an esky of cans; vividly remember being part of the standing ovation as Brocky did his farewell lap. Done a few cheap bike track days & advanced riding courses out there; hell, one of my mates plowed his XB GT coupe into the wall, (if that's not the definition of Australian; I don't know what is!). Great memories. I don't understand the developers whole "Own a piece of motorsport history" bullshit; what kind of motorsport enthusiast would be proud to have contributed to the destruction of an iconic racetrack? If I met someone who proudly announced that the lived in Brock Street, at Oran Park town; I'd probably stab them with my car keys. I remember when the development was announced; the track owner promised he was going to build an exact copy of Oran at a nearby site, couldn't help thinking that place might've been a better spot for houses...
  25. Leon, the amount of toe & camber from your alignment will be applicable, regardless of differing ride heights. Throw the specs on if you can, if you're not scrubbing the soft Invo's; it must be on the money.
