  1. As per my other reply, go buy them from Nissan, they are the correct material grade, and are shouldered to the right length. Most engineers will require it. Either that or drill & tap the caliper legs to M14x 1.25mm (I think) and use the factory Stagea bolts.
  2. The thing most engineers will ask is if you used the factory bolts; I ve done 3 R32 brake upgrades, 2 r31's and a Cressida, all using dog bones that I machined myself. One lot from 4140 steel and 2 from 316 Stainless. This was the first question he asked every time. A visual inspection of the brackets was required (minimum material thickness of 12mm at any point and a 7mm minimum thickness adjacent to a hole or thread) and a calculation of the fluid area of the caliper pistons and the Master Cylinder and the fluid volume of the reservoir; to ensure you can't bottom the brake pedal or run out of fluid before the calipers bite/ as the pads wear. If all of those meet or exceed the specs on the donor car you're all good. Go and order an new set of caliper mounting bolts from your local dealer & keep the reciept.
  3. It's not so much the "upgrade' that an engineer looks at; it's the execution. For example, if you just fitted up your R32's without fitting the reducing bushes, or with some mild steel bolts from Bunnings instead of Grade 8 or Grade 10; would that be an upgarde? Definitely not. You'd be stretching those weak arse bolts from the first application, you'd damage the mounting lugs on the hub, possibly locking the caliper against the rotor and spearing out of control through a busload of blind, orphan, amputee, baby fur seals! Nobody wants to be THAT guy... It might never happen , but done right; it will never happen.
  4. They're not FACTORY fitted on our car, so technically it's an modification; regardless of the fact they bolt straight on. That just means it's a no brainer to engineer.
  5. It's interesting however, people were shitcanning the guy for asking loads of silly questions (myself included; I'll admit it) Then when he does EXACTLY what everyone suggested; (do some research) you've still got the boot in. He's dropped some serious cash on a mod that NO ONE else on the forum has tried; What's your pioneering new development? If I'd copped the hard time you guys are giving him when I first came to the forum; I wouldn't have come back. Just because we've been on here for a while, doesn't mean we can't learn something from a newcomer. This kind of attitude was what caused friction with the C34 guys who'd been on here for years before we got here. This is NOT the way we should be acting towards one another.
  6. Why would he lie Iain? Seems to be the most comprehensive solution, and the only plug in one too.
  7. Any decent consulting engineer would look at those CNC'ed, billet brackets; and approve them. Offset brackets are not illegal; just need them inspected. Any brake upgrade, more than a set of updated pads & rotors, needs to be engineered to be legal.
  8. +1; Used 95 for nearly a year when I first bought mine, no issues at all, just doesn't go as fast.
  9. R32 GTR, non brembo is 296mm x 32mm. R32 GTSt is 280mm x 28mm. The reducing sleeve for the mounting bolts is all you'll need. Edit; Alex beat me to it.
  10. I'd get on this bandwagon! 3" exhaust here.
  11. I understand what you're saying, I just think the logistics are a bit much. I doubt he'd be happy sharing a room with a 3 year old... Even with a belly full of Saké Although that would certainly quiet down my son. I guess we'll have to see what develops.
  12. There were certainly documented cases of R32 GTR cross drilled rotors cracking, and plenty of bodgy DBA Sport Gold crummydore discs cracking. I think it's a case of one bad apple spoiling the bunch; if correctly engineered and heat treated/ stress relieved, quality ones have no issues.
  13. Down from Japan? If they were Brisbane it might be an option, but an international return flight, hotel accomodation, meals and then an agreable dyno owner for however many days? I don't see that being more affordable than sending them over. And that's completely aside form the likelyhood of a Japanese tuner leaving his own business to fly halfway around the world.
  14. Lol, hey Craig! Spotted you pulling onto the M4 at Penrith, thought it was the same one as this morning, had to catch up to make sure. Up at the top lights at Blaxland, I enticed him into the Left lane, and then got him blocked in by a truck .What a bad guy... Thanks mate, it's filthy at the moment, thought I'd give you a listen to the Fujitsubo goodness... Yours looks good too mate, very clean, hope you've got some mods planned? I saw you do the double take as I drove through Faulconbridge, I was thinking "That's an nice Stagea, ooh, theres the owner!" as I nearly broke my elbow on the armrest, trying to wave out the window... I'll keep an eye out for you mate, I'm just up behind the Ugg Boot man. Cheers, Dale.
  15. Silver C34 twice today; local to me Will have to stop & have a chat sometime, don't know if the owner is on here...
  16. Don't show Iain those calipers, he likes a Nismo badge
  17. I reckon thats a good idea actually.
  18. I would say yes, I'd say your sports pack will likely be limited to springs and shocks. But if you'd like to measure the diameter of what you currently have fitted I can tell you whether or not it's different. Are you serious? $230 and $210 is too expensive for you? Have youy looked at the retail prices? Have you actually got quotes including delivery? If you can get your Cusco's for that price, landed in Australia; go ahead. Be aware, the Cusco's will likely be a hollow bar; and nowhere near as much an increase in stiffness as the solid Whitelines. Perhaps you should run a Group Buy; so everyone can benefit from the savings. I don't know if they do, I'll have to check some part numbers, and see what's available. Also, they wouldn't be the same price as the group buy prices due to the individual nature, I need a minimum of 5 to do a group buy. Cheers, Dale.
  19. Hurry up! Details are needed!
  20. I'm not complaining...
  21. Must've been delivered to the "too hard basket" at 125 "I hope those blokes forgot what we promised" Street I'm sure they're still "working on it"Don't call us; we'll call you...
  22. When you're not repeatedly winding those 1800kgs up from a standstill, they do quite well.
  23. Yep, the aperture in the caliper is 34mm wide, so a GTR rotors will fit fine, and dia is the same.
  24. R33 GTSt front calipers are the same as R32 GTR non-Brembo's, even though disc thickness is different; and are often cheaper.
  25. Send GSL Rallysport a PM, or check the trader section for them, they do great deals for forum users.
