  1. They can be replaced. Try giving Fulcrum a call, or Wholesale Suspension in Sydney on 02 4721 2187. They have experience with NM35's. If you need something picked up & forwarded, they're near me, I'd be happy to help. What height are they saying the car is? You may have scored some coilovers . Cheers, Dale.
  2. What's a "machanic"? Silly statement, talk about painting with a broad brush... The workshop I use always keeps me informed of what is going on, especially if there is going to be some sort of cost or time blowout. Doesn't happen often but it's a nice touch. Has also passed on savings to me, when items he's ordered come in at a lower cost; could easily keep the extra and I'd be none the wiser. Integrity like that keeps customers coming back. The other thing that frustrates me is when people expect their workshop to "do a deal" for them, then shitcan them when they won't. My mechanic has one of the higher labour rates I've come across, and I'm happy to pay it, because his workmanship is second to none. Sometimes unrealistic expectations can destroy the relationship, I work as a fitter/machinist and some peoples' expectations are quite unbelievable! We're tradespeople, not magicians...
  3. Lol, I don't mind... Worked with a guy who looked at my old S3 r31 wagon, says "Oh cool, you've got one of those 6 cylinder Pintaras" yeah...
  4. It looks like it could be. The problem that I can see here is, pipe dia. off the dump is 2.5" so you're not getting the best possible flow, and you will also need to cut it and fit a cat about halfway along that pipe if you don't want to get a fine. Add to that, I would recommend a flex bellows off the flange before the bend. By the time you have this delivered to Aus, modify it to suit, you would've been able to have a custom pipe made EXACTLY how you want for the same dollars.
  5. Stock 17x7" is +45, ARX 18x8" is +40. In an 8" they need at least +30 offset, even +25 offset would go fine without clearance issues. Just need to allow for caliper clearance for further down the track if you're going to upgrade. My bad, I thought his were +35 .
  6. 19x12.5? Any offset you like, not going to fit under the guards anyway... The widest confirmed (non ridiculous) fitment in a 19" is around 9.5" wide, at +35 offset. No guard rolling or clearance issues. Brake discs are 350z touring (non brembo). RDA's are probably better value for money, approx $350 front slotted, $250 rear slotted, retail. You should be able to go ceaper than that if you look around.
  7. Right, that's it, you're out of the band! Bloody Pintaras R31 wagon FTW!
  8. Classic! Should be able to get out of paying speeding/parking tickets, due to your car not being real... Question is; if it isn't a car, WTF is it?
  9. A fella I worked with, had a weird issue with his car, when it had less than 1/4 of a tank, it would just stop after a while. Really random but always with low fuel. Turned out his fuel pump was knackered (500,000kms!) and when the tank was low, the heatsoak in the smaller volume of fuel being recirculated, would cause it to nip up, and stop. With a full tank, it would cool the pump ok, but eventually it died completely. Also had the low fuel pressure issue that you're describing, but when left for an hour or so, it would start, & run flawlessly. Drove me bloody mad! Check the pump.
  10. I was lucky, one of my mates had "noid lights" you just plug it in to the injector plug & it lights an led. Can you probe the connector with a test light or a continuity tester (my multimeter has a setting where you get an audible beep when you have current across the leads)?
  11. Well that's got to be a win! Even a little massaging of the cutout won't be a disaster, it's not like you're going to be cutting the rad support in half.
  12. Not being a smartarse, but I've been caught out by some really simple things, easy to do when you've done such a big job. Might be time to get out the multimeter & delve a bit deeper. Or get a mate to go through it with you, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is all it takes. Good luck.
  13. Is it true that the 350z or one of the v35/g35 rads is compatible, with some minor modding of the radiator support? If so I'd be going down that route, 50mm thick 350z rad's are going for $200- $400 US on Ebay motors, depends on what brand you choose. Bigger core, alloy construction, just the issue of A/T heat exchanger to deal with.
  14. Heyyy, that's mine! Lol
  15. I used 95 octane in mine for the first winter I owned it, then switched to 98 when summer arrived. They just run so much nicer on 98 I never went back. I don't even use E10 in my missus mazda 323, it's just horrible.
  16. Meguiars Plastx plastic polish. Didn't remove them but taped up surrounding paint on guards & bumper, as it's quite a coarse polish if you get it on your paint. The yellowing wasn't on the inside, so no need to pull them apart.
  17. Are you serious? I've been hearing a lot about ppl buying cars called Lamborghini Gallardo's, that are worth 500 grand. Why would anyone pay that much for car with only two seats and no boot? The answers you seek: 1:Quality costs money. 2:Each piece of equipment you buy, adds to the total cost; more equipment, more cost. 3:Installation cost of quality equipment is at least equal to the cost of aforementioned quality equipment, often more. 4:Quality equipment does not consist of a Roadsound tape deck, some 6x9's (no, not even 200 watt dual cones) and a 5 band graphic equaliser. 5:Quality installation does not consist of self tappers, scotch locks and a roll of insulating tape. 6:Aforementioned quality equipment is unlikely to be found at Supercheap. Tip: Just because a thought is occurring in your brain, does not mean you have to commit it to the forum. Instead, use the forum as a tool to learn, not to ask silly questions as often you will just get silly replies... Loving your work Brahh, Cheers, Dale.
  18. Polished my headlights today, all yellowing is gone! Shiny clear headlights again. Also finally did the tiptronic reversal, why didn't I do that the day after I bought the car?
  19. Are you aware this car is in New Zealand? I'm pretty sure they'd let you register a V8 powered skateboard, if it had seatbelts... *Note* The above post is not intended to enrage or insult NZ'ers who have quality, well engineered cars; you guys are awesome.
  20. Some guys are running QFM HPX pads (road oriented), and QFM AR1M's (track oriented), GSL Rallysport on the SAU forum stock these, and do deals for members. Give them a try.
  21. And I'm takin' it to the bank! See below...
  22. But "On my C34" it's easy . It might be different if ANY 4WD version of ours came from the factory with a manual, completely ignoring the ECU side of things . As for custom making a gearbox bellhousing, well; you up for it? Hmm.
  23. Love that video Craig, espesially the run out of turn 4. My 31 never sounded like that . If it did I'd sprobably still have it.
  24. How long is a piece of string? Expect to spend at least $1500 from turbo to exhaust tip. My current system (Group buy dump, custom mid pipe, hi flow cat, Fujitsubo Legalis rear exhaust) stands at around $2000. I did it in sections, to soften the blow, and my Legalis was an ebay bargain.
  25. +1 for the dump. Top of the list for mods, followed by a quality high flow cat.
