Hey Keir, you probably won't get a really positive response to that in this section of the forum. Personally, I don't think its some of your best work, we all get grief at some point driving imports, because of the "guilt by association" reputation they have. This is EXACTLY how it happens. I like a burnout as much as the next guy, but faark, in the street? Youtube? How original. Great piece of footage for Today Tonight's next "Import Driving Hoons" story. I'll be honest with you, if you did that in my street; I'd tell you to piss off and take it to a track. If I saw you do it again, I'd be giving your rego to the police. We all have a responsibility to think a little bit about this kind of thing, otherwise, the cars, and the lifestyle we love will be taken away by simpering, sooky, politicians looking for an easy vote. Then you'll be driving a bloody Camry wondering how it all went so wrong. That said, hope the rebuild goes well, looking forward to seeing some pics of it ON A TRACK!

What went wrong?

Ok, sounds like you've isolated it to the master cylinder. When you push in the clutch pedal, it levers a rod which then pushes the piston down the bore of the master cyl. This displaces the fluid in the bore, & forces it down the line toward the slave cyl. This extends the rod of the slave cyl, which in turn levers the clutch fork. What it seems is happening, is the seal in the master cyl is leaking, allowing fluid to pass back around the edge of the seal. (remember, the diaphragm spring in the clutch assy is pushing back against the force you apply to the pedal) This small amount of fluid will then return to the reservoir, thus you don't lose any fluid. What will happen as this issue gets worse, is the rod seal in the master cyl will end up with too much fluid behind it as you release the clutch and it cannot escape to the reservoir. It is then forced down the rod and this is the fluid that can run down the firewall. Hope this all makes sense. It sounds to me, like a new clutch master cyl, or a rekit is in order. Although, most of the time with nissans, it can cost more in labour & parts to overhaul your original, than to just buy a newie.

I wonder why that would happen, lol!

I'm with Andy. Dump pipe, high flow cat & aftermarket exhaust. Absolutely no issues, more power,, more torque, no downside. Someone is talking out their ear.

Moving in on your patch? Pop a cap in dat ass!

I'm with DVS32R, sounds like a Slave/ Master cylinder leak. Check reservoir for low fluid level, then check under the car on the clutch slave cyl for weeping or a leak. If you are losing fluid, but can't find the leak, you might be leaking out of the clutch master cyl & along the rod, running down the firewall behind the carpet/deadening. If you are not losing fluid, you have a piston seal in either slave or master cyl that is slowly bypassing, but generally this will still lead to leakage down the rod.

R32 Gtr Gearbox/engine Moved
Daleo replied to Skizza_32GTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'd say you've answered your own question there. Replace the Engine mounts, and check the gearbox mounts while you're there, if you've been driving around with a broken engine mount, you may have damaged the gearbox mounts also. Maybe check out the Nismo mounts; a harder duro rubber, up for a bit more punishment. -
Six pack holiday; classic!

I just found out what happens when you write t u r k e y without the spaces. I must admit it just adds awesome!

Nah, it's cool, I was the one who put the condition on its purchase, so it's my own silly fault. Now I've got something to use as an excuse to hide in the garage and drink beer, while the outlaws drive my missus mad. Then we'll see who's teasing who (or who's getting belted with a cooked the sphincter of the universe). It's a big job to look that far into the future...

Man, this is a cool piece of kit! Sadly mine is back in the box 'till Christmas day... I see what you mean about the owners manual; hardly any details in English. What functions are people displaying with these? I have a few things I want to see, but the options are endless...

Thanks man! Desire to strangle Scruby ebbing away, much better. Lol!

It is terribly sad. The last few, where miners have been rescued, are the absolute exception to the rule. This is the awful reality. Mining, and tunneling are incredibly dangerous occupations, done by very brave men & women. Spare a thought for EVERY miner, not just these 29 poor souls. Every day is a day their families could lose a father, mother, daughter, or son. Rest well brave men, your toil here is done.

Harold Scruby is an effing peanut. If it were up to him, he'd have it enshrined in law that anyone owning a motor vehicle must push their cars everywhere whilst being set on fire. Then he'd be on telly, frothing at the mouth about how drivers pushing cars whilst on fire were a threat to pedestrian safety, and should be banned. Or set on fire. Or both. Chairman of the pedestrian council my arse. What government department elected him? No one. When are the elections? Never. Who does he answer to? No one. He's the self appointed king of f##k all, and people listen to his mad ramblings, like he's some kind of expert. Yet people with sensible ideas are routinely ignored and undermined because it doesn't fit with the current misguided thinking. Sorry about that, don't know what came over me. I'm off to have a bex, and a lie down...

Excessive Slowing Down Without Using Brakes
Daleo replied to Marteh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Putting your auto in neutral whilst doing 110km/h is one of the best ways to destroy it. Oil pressure is what keeps the transmission alive, the faster you go the higher the pressure. So what you're doing is effectively running you auto at idle oil pressure, (the pump is on the converter side), but you're spinning the internals at 110km/h, because it is locked to the tailshaft. Low pressure equals failure. Get it to an auto specialist before you damage it any further. -
Help me jeebus! I'm not, not licking toads...

I'm pretty sure bbenny has the kaki on his wagon, maybe try him for some info?

Ok guys, a bit of an update. I have just been on the phone to Todd, from Signature Swaybars, we have a go for a sway bar group buy! I'm hoping to get down & see him late this week, or early next week with some sample bars for him to look at (thanks bbenny) and we should have a solid price and also an idea of his lead times to manufacture. Once that's done, I'll be posting in the Group Buy section of the forum, and linking to our discussion. Huge thanks to all you guys who've PM'ed me with your interest; you've gotten this off the ground! Now we can all benefit. And to anyone else who might be interested, you know what to do. Cheers, Dale.

This Is The New Recipe Chat Thread...
Daleo replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Lol dude, most hilarious analogy EVER! I used to have a VR commodore ute when they were new, and it was the most collosal pain in the arse ever. Sold it, bought an R31 wagon thant I owned for 9 years, 3 writeoffs, 4 sets of rims and a full respray. And I bought a motorbike. Best decision I ever made; Met my Missus because of the bike, and kept her 'cos I had my povvo wagon (doesn't like showoffs), it possibly even was the inception of my little son, Evan. And of course, now own awesome black Stagea (which my missus thinks is cool) Moral of the story: Wagons get the chicks , utes get you going through a carwash at 2:00 in the morning after 5 pissed dickheads get in the tray at closing time at your local pub and refuse to get out unless you "take us home dude". Don't be that guy (or get a hard tonneau cover, like I did, the very next day) -
Some C#nt Backed Into My Car
Daleo replied to Touge Kyousou's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Probably a little different, in that I believe his car was parked, and he was nowhere near it. Did you have a witness to this/ admission from the driver? I'd imagine that without a witness, this is going to be VERY hard to prove, especially if the other party claims you drove into the back of them... Hope it works out ok for both of you. -
I read this with interest in the paper this morning; "Extra points, that might be good" I thought ."ONE point, whoopee doo, don't do us any favours ok?" The bit that concerned me was when I looked at the "demerit points for 22 offences will be reduced or deleted" Did anyone else aside from me notice that one of the demerit point offences having points deleted was for "Not using indicators"? So while you're enjoying your ONE extra point, watch out for all the pinheads who no longer have to use their indicators as they change lanes in their clapped out Hyundai's & Corolla's and smash into your nice shiny car. Fair dinkum, they should be tripling the demerit points on that one, not eliminating them altogether! Maybe they should remove the requirement to have tread on your tyres while they're at it; because 70% of drivers under 30, have no idea how to ascertain safe tread depth... I bloody give up. Our government doesn't give a toss about us, and all the general public see is "Yay, I got an extra f##king point, so now I can drive like even more of a nonce than I did before!" As an aside, I have a clean license, but I do speed occasionally (as does everyone) and have been caught; but not as many times as I've sped, so I'll cop a fine on the chin if I get one. End Rant...

Some C#nt Backed Into My Car
Daleo replied to Touge Kyousou's topic in General Automotive Discussion
What everyone's saying is correct You should be able to give your insurer the rego of the car, the details of your witness, so they can contact her, get them to do it quickly, so the details are fresh in her mind. She doesn't need to be an expert, the rego & colour of the car should be sufficient. It won't be considered an "at fault" claim, because clearly, you weren't at fault... And for gawd's sake, if you see someone plowing into other cars, dob the arseholes in! I've waited around to give details to people whose cars have been hit in the past, and when my car was reversed into by a 4WD, causing $4000 in damage, I had a solicitor & 2 doctors as witnesses! Karma FTW! -
Yep Dunc, got to unbox it in the morning and give it a quick test, but she made a point of teasing me about it this morning.
