  1. Took car into Hyperdrive today for them to install the EMS Stinger and tuned. Wish me luck! Car's back next Friday/Saturday
  2. Its on my X-trail, getting tuned as i speak. running 7psi hoping for about 260awhp. QR25DE+T (2.5L 4cyl) And yeh that's the manifold im using. I took those photos myself, when i was helping my mate make that manifold. Just trying to find some more specs on it, cos all i was told is its off a Z31 300zx single turbo... Its bin rebuilt since then, and i didnt get around to asking the guys at turbo tech if they knew.
  3. race spec would attract HEAPS of attention. unless your car is 100% legal itd be nothing but harassment by the boys in blue. that said i love the race spec look, it'd be good on a car that does occasional track work, but for a street car however, it'd be a little over the top. clean look it is... i rekon ditch the spoiler, leave the stock body kit alone, nice low ride height and some simple rims like Te37s in the bottom pic, or Dirfteks. meshies/busy rims look horrid on R33s IMO...
  4. Ok cool thanks! Can you give me some info on the turbo though? 45V what? was size housings etc? thanks.
  5. Do you do highflowings for VG30et turbos too? Ive got one, but struggling to find the specs of it. Can't tell if its 16v, 45v2/3 etc... All i was told is that it was from a single turbo 300zx (Z31) its got: 14420v0300-01 410581-2 JL5950 written on it... plus: .48 AR on the hot side. can anyone help me out? cos id be interested in a highflow in a few months time...
  6. put a seat cover loosely over the top of the driver's seat, and underneath, place a few thumb tacks. and obviously remember to take off the seat cover and tacks but seriously, take a part off your car thats crucial for it's running every night if your stressed (the switch in the ignition wires is a great one, ive got that myself!), and if your worry is the contents, take everything with you! man there are some pricks out there, trust me, my car's been broken into 4 times...
  7. just car insurance. $1480 p/a 2002 x-trail, manual, Ti-L (luxury model) insured for 18.6k llisted mods: full turbo kit intercooler clutch kit 2k worth of stereo coilovers electronics (gauges, boost controller, gps etc..) that in MY name (18 y/o male, with 1 license suspension.), garaged every night, in a decent suburb etc... good service from them too, very helpful.
  8. plenum polishing is a prick of a thing... i just gave up and painted the dam thing black, since matte black and matte silver is sorta a theme of my engine bay. as for your RB, polished plenums look hot! i rekon blue couplers and blue cam covers with a few red bits (cam gears?) will look the part. then when you need to get speedflow fittings (the red and blue braided ones) they will look the part! sorta like this:
  9. i find it funny all those cop hate threads, when 90% of the time, the drivers/defectees who were publishing them, gave the cops a hard time. DER!, of course if you give lip to cops there more likely to f**k you over. This is prime example of how to deal with cops. Honest, up front, respect, yes sir, no sir etc... gets you far! got pulled over for speeding, (90 in 50 zone, but only got caught doing 62 :| ) and the usual question "Any reason why you were speeding?" i replied: "No, i was just being a dickhead sir, i was being stupid." Cop was staring my 'cooler right in the face when taking down my rego, and even commented on my loud exhaust, nothing more than $150 and 2 demerits... Again, ive never had a bad experience with a cop, and ive had a few dealings i.e. >10 in 18 months.
  10. you need to reset your ECU, or perform and Idle air re-learn. cos the ECU has 'forgotten' the signal that determines how much air and how much the throttle needs to open, for a solid idle. Problem is, ive got no idea how to do that on a skyline... should be just pull out the fuse for the engine computer, then leave it for about 10 minutes, then pop the fuse(s) back in and that should do it. But then again, ive never done it on a skyline. Take it to a nissan dealer, they can do it all for cheap as chips, or someone in here will know how to do it... try this thread for more info: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Hi...Rb-t297518.html and these two DIYs should solve your problem (i hope!) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...tml&hl=idle http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...tml&hl=idle
  11. actually i stand corrected, this would have good appeal to P platers...
  12. i love R33s without wings but that's just personal. that front end is sex tho, i love it! good work with the stealth work too. not a huuge fan of those wheels, maybe something with a little more surface area like drifteks or TE37s i dont really think meshies look good on skylines, but again, that's just me! impressive list of mods there too! good choice in hypergear snail! (maybe lower it a tad more?) good luck bro!
  13. when its tuned, yes... but atm, i cant drive it in boost so itd be a pretty gay/boring video! ill do a video of a big pull, itll be tuned this time next week so ill post one up... i cant get one of the dyno tuning cos i wont be there with it but ill prob get another dyno run, just so ive got a video of it
  14. thats VERY optimistic for a 32 auto, non turbo dude... maybe 6-7 but not 9k...
  15. ok time to talk power.... i know its a bit ambiguous, cos not many of you know much about the QR motor, but how much do you rekon ill make? from the Sentra owners in the US (same motor) they usually make 300whp from 10psi, only tuned with an SAFC. info: 2.5L 4cyl QR25DE 6800 rev limit stock cams, stock motor 325hp T3 turbo 7psi 3" exhaust EMS stinger standalone engine management 98 octane I'm gonna call 260whp.
  16. what has the world come to... lol might be a pretty ok idea for a f**k around. but what about ignition control? dunno how the stock computer would react to just ripping out the injector harness...
  17. any news bro? done the test yet?
  18. who me? try 18
  19. Thanks for the replies... cleaned everything just then, degreaser and a high pressure water hose (when the motor was cold of course) and it's smoking alot less now... Took it for a spin around the block after it was all dry, and a bit of a boost when it was warm to get the heat into the manifold and turbo. I'll keep an eye on it...
  20. Hey all, I've got my turbo manifold wrapped in fibreglass heat wrap, its bin on for about a month now, it smoked a bit when I first started it up but was fine until yesterday. I was reaching over my motor and knocked the oil line at the top of the turbo and oil came pissing out, all over the manifold (oh joy). Now its smoking like f**k cos the heat's burning the oil off. My question: Will this last long? I can see it taking a while to burn off, but do you guys think it'll stop smoking eventually? Also, is it VERY dangerous? I can't see much risk of starting a fire, cos it's just smoking u know but wanna make sure... Thanks.
  21. thanks Nick, that's EXACTLY what i was after.
  22. not a skyline but ehh... and this is me...
  23. if youve got the know how and access to decent fabrication (engine/box mounts etc...) fkn go for LS motor... be cheaper in the long run cos you wont have to thrash it as much as a turbo motor (26, 25/30 etc...) good luck!
  24. BUMP come on! someone please!
