Gktech Hub Centric Spacers
sweefu replied to TM7GTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I use their 25mm on the front of my S14, great quality spacer, high tensile/long studs. Better quality than the no name spacers I had previously. -
Those guys do some amazing work, can't wait to see the wheels back together.

Gears 3,4 And 5 Grinding In R32 Gtr
sweefu replied to boobeedoobee's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
A word of caution - LWSP oil is a GL5 specification oil, which apparently contains some additives which aren't good for the brass synchro which RB/SR/VG boxes run. Not sure how much truth there is to it, but I have a gearbox which was run on LWSP for a long time and the synchros wore out before any other components did. I've since changed to a GL4 specification oil (new gearbox), although too early to tell if it will make any difference. Redline make a GL4 called MT-90, Amsoil apparently make a good GL4 also, but I haven't tried it. -
Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
sweefu replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
To follow up on this a little while later They seem to have lost grip quicker than other tyres I've used, RS-R seem to stay stickier for longer than my NS2-R have. Still good grip when hot but it takes a while to get enough heat into them. If anyone has used Federal EVO they might know what I mean, good grip new but lose grip after being outside for a few months. I'm going back to the track next month still using these so will see how they hold up. -

Have you used these yet mate? -
You must be happy with those wheels man I thought the brake caliper clearance looked good from the pictures. You'll have to measure them up and see what the specs are, they look very tasty! For the wheel nuts, I bought a set of the internal hex type from Ozzy Tyres for $50 with the tool, Jax, Bob Jane etc all seem to sell these for a similar price I used them on my last skyline (mainly track) for 18 months without any issues, I'd recommend trying them. Awesome build too, glad to see it progressing and getting some track time too. What sort of tyre will you run? and size?

Excedy Full Face Organic Power Rating
sweefu replied to CEF33Y's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This guy knows what's up. I have the Exedy Sports Organic HD (full face, silver pressure plate made in Japan, not pink centre from China) I wore it pretty badly in 3 track days with a stock SR20DET. Friends of mine have used this clutch with 220kw+ and had no troubles for 12 - 18 months worth of track days. A lot depends on driving style too, and as above, suspension, tyres, diff etc. -

Looks similar to an AGI cage No washers on the bolts? -
Correct Tail Shaft Looks Short..
sweefu replied to Willis's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I can measure for you properly tomorrow but 99.99% sure CA/SR/RB20/RB30/RB25DE etc are all the same. Only GTR, RB25DET, Z32 etc would be different. -

As above, that's fine. It's a slip yolk. Try Taark, or just anyone wrecking a car. Wreckers should have a bunch hanging around too, if you're talking about the dust cover which sits at the end of the gearbox and covers the front uni joint, SR20, CA18, RB20 etc are all the same. -
Help With Stiff Clutch Needed
sweefu replied to Skyride's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
No other differences! I used one with my RB25DET gearbox and it bolted straight up after I drilled out the holes to suit. Cost $19 from Bursons vs. $200 from Nismo, great upgrade. I'll check the part number tomorrow (in the garage) and post it up. -
Is this car still getting around?
-
Only the late model Z32 boxes were upgraded, 1998+ from memory.
-
What are you bracing? My bet is that you would not notice ANY difference whatsoever between square or round tube.
-
All looks great man! How did you go at QR? Also, are you happy with the AGI cage? Fitment wise? I have an AGI half cage in my car and the quality is great, but looks like I'll be going to the National spec cage soon. Cheers.

Help With Stiff Clutch Needed
sweefu replied to Skyride's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Which R32 GTR had push type clutch? For push type, you can use a Toyota Hilux 7/8" slave cylinder, all you need to do is drill out the mounting holes from 8mm to 10mm. They cost $19 at Bursons, not $200 from Nismo. -
Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
sweefu replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Like I said above, my car was poorly setup. Worn OEM suspension, average alignment etc. In a better car (my previous car, R31) I have tried Federal RS (Pre RS-R) and Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 (again, pre AD08) The AD07 had more grip wet or dry, more driving feedback, stiffer sidewall, more progressive grip than anything else I've used. The NS2-R might be similar to an RS-R, but I really haven't tested the limit of the NS2-R so it's not fair for me to say yet. I'll be sure to do some more in depth testing soon though -

I was surprised too. A few years ago I tried Nankang NS2 (normal) and they are the worst tyre I have ever used, I've probably tried 20-30 different tyres in the last 6 years, but I can't knock something until I try it! I was happy with the NS2-R. I got them from Inverse Tyres in Bayswater, Inverse is a great shop, best prices I could find (not that many people even have NS2-R yet) and great service, I left it very late to fit up tyres for Winton Matsuri and they still fitted up my tyres, then found one of my wheels were buckled and stripped all my tyres again and re-fitted them to different wheels, at about 8.30pm on the Thursday night before Winton. How is that for service! I'm keen to test the tyre in a more balanced setup. I didn't go anywhere near the limit of grip it has. Seemed stable with pressure too, my China rears (although rears do get hotter) often fluctuate between 10psi and 20psi from hot to cold, but the NS2-R only moved around 6psi - 8psi at most. After I adjusted the hot pressure they stayed stable which is nice. -

Are R32 GTR slave cylinders the same as RB25DET? -
Help With Stiff Clutch Needed
sweefu replied to Skyride's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yep, as above. I changed from a 3/4" to 7/8" slave cylinder this week and it made a huge difference, clutch felt substantially lighter and it's much easier to use, especially in traffic. -

Haha, no worries man! Lot of companies seem to be coming up with this style of tyre now, the Westlake Sport RS is another one, but Australia seems to be delayed in terms of sizes we get. These come in a street (180 treadwear) and track (120 treadwear) versions, I should say I used the street 180 treadwear version. -

Do they R32 GTR run a 3/4" slave cylinder the same as RB25DET gearboxes? You could try a bigger bore slave cylinder, Nismo make a 7/8" from memory. -
Also interested in this Have heard of this happening to people with Z32 as well, same gearset.
