  1. I think you'll get more out of a better tyre @ the same sizes as it doesn't seem the R888 is much chop compared to other choices around, which is probably more important for Time Attack in terms of grip rather than a club sprint type/general track day where you are cutting many laps/sessions
  2. Gotta hand it to Nintendo. After persisting for years with cartridges longer than anyone else. They then take a massive gamble with the Wii and have a look - IMO it's one of the best consoles of the last 8-10 years. Nothing, and i mean nothing, will been the N64 - king of the console behind the SNES or the PS1 But the Wii really has never had a problem. You can mod them cheaply and easily, there are some AWESOME aftermarket add-ons... Really good thinking by that mob.
  3. It might be bliss to the ears but it's excruciating pain to the wallet and IMO 10k isn't going to be enough anyway. I mean just between the clutch, oil pump, new crank & pistons you are already @ around 5.5k-6k - Shit gets expensive if you want more RPM, very expensive. I get the feeling you are going towards: 330-340rwkw As much response as possible And we can forget 8500+ For 10k, with the bits you want... 8000rpm limit, 2.6l bottom end done, head rebuild - i reckon you won't have a cent left outta 10k Plus its a race motor, going to have its balls rung each time it goes out. Makes sense to keep RPM lower if you don't really need it.
  4. Every other prick is doing it lol, might as well But we all know what it costs to get a GTR to the level those cars are at, and it'll cost a lot more even if they only get 20k for it. If you have a purpose, and an aim, makes sense to sell and swap if you wanna save some coins. Its a logical and fair choice.
  5. Wow jebus. I do a couple hours of work and this is the response... Brilliant, some really good stuff here already.
  6. 10k is pretty restrictive for that RPM range. I know you don't want to talk turbos etc, but that choice is quite critical in you decision. The reason i say this is because for 300-350rwkw, all turbos that fit that power range do not need more than 7500rpm or there abouts. Hence aiming for 8500+ is kinda pointless and will add excessive cost when you simply don't need it Also with regards to parts, any can be killed and there are is always a horror story. So that request in itself is hard to answer and it will more so come down to how well the motor is assembled and tuned over and above the specific brand.
  7. 14/04 ? huh? I R ONCE AGAIN CONFUSE
  8. Yeah was a good talk indeed. Very interesting. Raised more questions than it answered which is a good thing as there is quite a bit to think bout. I'll be out there no doubt as well lol cause fk me cleaning my wheels is a chore with DS3000, if it saves me 5-10mins each wash its worth it for sure.
  9. Fri I'malways working lol, so thats fine. I'll PM ya when i get home after work and have a think. Barelylifted a thing in 18-24 months so beginners gains love (and pain) for me
  10. Told you there was setup issues mate. Glad to hear you finally got around to sorting it out, rather simple in the end
  11. bump - prices adjusted. Open to reasonable offers as always.
  12. Well the information you gave: BN98093928 No business exists by that number... I know how to use the ASIC & other Gov't websites mate, you are giving invalid information.
  13. The two car pic is cool mate - I like it! Thats what i mean though, I'm sure people have some pretty sweet pics out there that don't have 1000 cars
  14. Oh and the above comparo is on the same motor too - built RB26, usual top and bottom end business. Was also driving on semi's too (makes for good mountain runs )
  15. Driven a GTR with -9s on it on those same roads? That's where the story tells itself i found. It was a noticeable increase in lag as id driven the same roads with -9s for 4 months before i put on -5s recently. I also found myself having to drop a gear more often with -5s and really get up it where -9s due to coming on sooner didnt need that geardown. The only thing in favour of -5 is they pull to 8000-8500 no problem where the -9 are finished by 7000-7500. but they come on later so it makes sense. In effect its probably a good thing for a stock motor to have the ones that don't have you keep burying the foot to higher rpm
  16. How often? I need to find a gym partner. only issue being im a shift worker so 2 weeks evening, 2 weeks late morning is all i have possible to get to a gym which is a ripe pain in the arse.
  17. Ye but thats only at the moment, before the quake it wasn't 25%
  18. Most T04E's wont make more than 270-280rwkw (20psi). Depends on what spec, but the vast majority don't have massively efficient comp wheels that flow air.
  19. S15s are terrible in the mechanical arena. Gearboxes are weak as piss, and they make mince meat out of diffs as well. Thats what happens when you try and fit another gear into the same size housing i guess, you have to compromise strength. Pity S13/S14 look like poop as they are mechanically much better choices. PCOTY/BFYB - stuff those motor mag reviews and shit. They mean sweet fk all when you are talking modification.
  20. Of course its possible. Anything is possible with enough money. I think it was Sarus that also did a 26 in a FD, was a widebody conversion as well, midnight purple etc. Looked brilliant.Wouldn't be particularly practical, and i doubt it'd ever be legal cause the 26 weighs so much.
  21. Website is just about done now... But one minor thing overlooked was pictures - We need your help! See here for more detail: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/364827-sau-nationals-we-need-your-pictures
  22. Hey photo buffs – SAU Nationals needs pics of skylines, skylines and more skylines! We are mainly after cruise/meeting/gathering with many cars to suit the "massive" gathering this event will have. If you have single car shots, and they suit what the website guy is after, they might be used on the site as well. If you have a cool pic that you can let us use on the website (due to launch in a week or two), then please post it up here. We don’t need “super” high resolution, and you can upload around 2mb file which will be enough for what is required. Obviously not all submissions will be used, and if possible no watermarks. Basically if its cool and has skylines, that’s what we need!
  23. Even with a built 26 -5s are lazy on the street Noticeably laggier in/out of gears, in the hills etc. You have to really wring the cars neck compared to having -9s (having had both) -5s come into their own above 150km/h, but for most people thats largely useless.
  24. IIRC you cannot just record either, you must make the officer aware of doing so first. You'll find doing such a thing will almost certainly see you with an EPA and a canary combo. Realistically driving a modified import (turbo or not) is illegal so picked on - not really, but video/record it and watch it escalate to a whole new level IMO. Better off taking your chances without it and not giving attitude in the first place.
