1. Dont expect the 36s to be magically brilliant either on a circuit
2. Comes down to what amount of logging etc you need. If you really don't need much then a PFC isn't going to be any better/worse than anything else. But if you need 40 things logged then clearly it's not the best choice.
3. Fk he is still going? Movie time.
4. Ye no idea man, it was somehow screwed up - works now though
5. Hurry up and type that essay birdman, i wanna go watch a movie R31Nismoid*, xALmoN, Birds, UNR33L, (OO)SKYLINE(OO)
6. Well we are in the geek section of the forums, so stands to reason there is such a debate! This!
7. Don't ever give tech support again
8. It's cause your link was wrong It'll work with that... The youtube address you had somehow was wrong, so hence it wont register when being embedded.
9. Any events listed as "members only" can only be attended by Financial members of SAU-Vic To become a member, check the website http://www.sauvic.com.au/memberinfo Whilst the club has a separate website, it exists "here" on the forums in terms of events, chat and so on.
10. Check the events section - come to heathcote on the 29th May
11. Oh it's an older one, not the 286kw one or whatever? (not 100% upto date with LS1 outputs in whatever forms) You basically get scrutinised for everything from Emission controls, brake/drivetrain upgrades, engine mounting, frames, exhaust noise etc etc. IIRC as soon as its non-factory, non-family option - you go through the ringer. I think more than a 20% or 25% power increase it gets tough and the other issue is the torque figures will be what will really hurt you. EG. You can't engineer a LS1 into a torana or anything these days here. The VASS Engineer who did my car (26 into a HR) was telling me it happens often as people do the conversion BEFORE checking with a VASS signatory. They haven't signed off once since some changes were made a few years ago. Not sure what they were though, i didn't go into more detail on that topic at the time. Cost/Effort wise it's a certainty you'll get a RB in, and cheaply simple due to the fact it's Nissan and it's bolt-in effectively with just a brake upgrade to the same or similar spec the motor came from. Fken Victoria is seriously 15 years behind. The EPA laws are from 1992
12. lol totally agree. People spend what - 4-6k on TV, stereo systems etc. But then complain and only spend $400 on a console for gaming? PLEASE... And you don't need $2,000 for a PC to play games Nick. My $1500 PC from 4 yrs ago still runs most games a treat, and i updated GPU twice (cost of $300). And you can get a controller for them too
13. You aren't from Vic - So unfortunately what you can do in your state has no bearing on this topic at all. So as i said earlier, I'm very confident you'll never get a ~300kw LS1 registered into a R31 (factory of what, 140kw) in Vic which was the conversation being had.
14. You would have to be the king of mad-hatter analogies Marko. What on earth does a race bike capacity & lap time have to do with what are mostly street cars, 26 vs 30 debate? There are so many other factors like weight, aero, tyres, brakes etc
15. Interesting indeed. On dyno/loaded/4th i take it?
16. SIF stay where there is no action. You should stay where we plan too - at least there will be a pub that is open after 10pm!
17. Comp surge is a massive issue though. It hurts the entire power output, boost build up between gears and so on if it's doing it consistently and it can do it even @ full throttle depending on where you are in the RPM range. That 0.3 of a second delay is pretty critical when you think about how many times you are on/off the throttle over a lap. It's not always super audible either depending on the setup.
18. Whats the setup again? I can't remember... Perhaps I'm getting old?
19. You are getting boost creep due to poor boost control. Nothing more, nothing less. The “tuner” claiming the wastegate ‘doesn’t flow enough’ is simply a case of he has no idea what he is talking about. Every single other GTS-t out there doesn’t spike to 15psi – so why should yours? I place my bets on your dump pipe. You said it was a turbo back exhaust, I bet it's a cheap/copy dump and the wastegate flap is getting stuck and only opening 50% or so, causing these issues. The stock wastegate flows plenty - It sounds like it's being hindered.
20. All - If you want to chat, use the wasteland etc. Constantly seeing 3-5 pages of chat/dribble which is not the point of this. A post here/there is ok, but don't whore it up
21. Ye thats a Vic thing. Its funny as our work has a "team". You never see the "team" come in for 2 days after it LOL. They are all busted up to the shizen as they ride 10-15km and think they can bust 150+ Cracks me up every year and they are still broken for a good 2-3 days after getting back to work Events like Le tour have always attracted my attention. Such a tough tough test of mental and physical. I think its more about the mental for long distance stuff.
22. hehe yes AASA can sometimes be just a little bit slow with just about everything...
23. Ye its from date of issue - not date of payment.
