  1. Please use the search function. This is a rather common topic...
  2. Ikeya you cant get as much adjustment out of IIRC. Nothing wrong with Cusco items, many using them.
  3. +1 Ensure sump is overfilled by 1 litre is the most important part over a oil pump, which aint going to make much difference in changing when you have a short drive crank and a block without restrictors/enlarged returns etc (ie, built). Also don't rev the arse out of it, keep it to a sane 7000rpm, maybe 7,500 - no more than that.
  4. Define worth? Making a $7,000 bad choice is something i don't like seeing any user do - and that's exactly what it is. Stock ratios i can get 650-700km to a tank on the freeway - cruising @ 130km/h too mind you which is around 3300rpm IIRC. Sounds like it might be an economy choice or something. A Supra Getrag is still just as expensive as a GTR Getrag simply because anyone wanting to convert their Auto to a 6-speed needs the box - So they are potentially more expensive. It'll be around 6-7k adventure just for the extgra gear, that offers no performance benefit either. Lot of cost just for a want. If going 6-speed was a good idea, everyone would have done it. I mean full credit to him for persisting with an idea. It's just hard to fathom as to the reason you'd spend that money when the gearbox is worth more than the car.
  5. Enkelman in Braeside. Many people i know have used them. Around $650 which includes the brake test.
  6. See you guys in 4 weeks
  7. Well i guess that only took 7 years
  8. Ye but you weigh half as much as Bris dude lol, that's a fair factory in itself How i miss screamer pipe, im gonna be dreaming of external gate tonight for sure!
  9. Please use the For Sale section, and follow the clear rules of that section.
  10. I think your colleague needs to lay off the drugs
  11. GB's need to follow the GB rules. Use the proper section, adhere too all rules. locked.
  12. Of course not, going by your posts in this thread you don't even know how Nistune really worked and thought it was a piggy-back They both have their place, you get some "value add" with the PFC, but for most applications Nistune is well proven and totally fine - given they are pretty much the same thing when it boils down too it. It's just not applicable to 'every' model/ECU etc etc. So sometimes a PFC wins out simply by default.
  13. Different is one thing, a gross waste of money is another But ye, not the first "i wanna put a 6-speed" thread, there have been many in the past, and thankfully people realise there is little point and stick with the normal 5 speed. Also the same for getting a N/A upto a turbo-spec type thing. Easier and cheaper to start from a turbo base.
  14. Could still be AFM. Sounds intermittent, so when the car does due - check the sensor read out on the hand controller. That'll clear or confirm the AFM.
  15. At least its not as long of a drive for you lot
  16. That's like telling HPI to recall all the issues of their mag!
  17. I think I'm becoming immune to silly statements like that these days
  18. That's all good and well - but considering there are no forms available - It's a bit of a gamble for people coming interstate to book accomm and so on now when we don't even know if we've gained entry to the event...
  19. Sell the car - but a turbo model. Then you get the brakes, gearbox and everything else. It'll cost more to upgrade your bits than it would to actually buy a car and just use what comes standard. What are you trying to achieve with a 6-speed gearbox anyway? It'll cost you 5-6x as much, and really offer nothing.
  20. Each motor has varying characteristics. Do research and pick the one that suits.
  21. Or use the "compose new" button on the right hand side when you are in "messenger", which you also access from the top right hand side - drop down menu.
  22. Sorry dude but you will never beat the low/mid range of the VCT, it's simply impossible. RB26's didn't come with VCT simply because it was not an option - not for good reason. Think about why people are using RB25NEO heads on 26 bottom ends, HKS V-Cam, jaycar style VCT controllers setups etc etc VCT is king. End of story. If it's not working for you then you have underlying issues causing these gains not to be realised.
  23. My old man was friends with the owner of the first top fuel bike into the 6-sec bracket in Aus, i think it was done in 1996 or 1995 So I was @ the Nationals every year in the centre pit areas toying with the gear and in the trailers etc... Still remember those days. But ye, i remember the stones jumping almost 30-40cm in the air @ about 1/2 track as the Dragsters were coming past @ full song. Utterly ridiculous. I'm going to WSID near the end of the year to see some action once again as a mate was up there few weeks ago and said it was just like he remembered - only you can't get as close lol... damn safety to hell.
  24. Thread closed. Believe it or not, but since SAU started more than 7 years ago, this topic has been discussed before. Please use the search function in future. It may be found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums While we understand that it can be frustrating to have your thread closed - Please consider that other members may feel it to be disrespectful and selfish of you to post a simple question, without using the search feature to review the wealth of information provided by said members over the years. If you still feel that this action is unjust, then please PM me and we can discuss it further.
  25. Bob Jane killed that - not the thunderdome. Was i think 1997 when the last top fueller event was on there *sigh*
