6Boost Rb26Dettt Manifold Install
R31Nismoid replied to BoostdR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Indeed, will be good to see. 1.7x longer is interesting. Dyno might not show difference when loaded up in terms of response, you'll have to get some seat of pants action going Pics of old manifold by chance? -
That's Victoria for you. The place to get a finger up the arse - courtesty of Steve Bracks & the media.

6Boost Rb26Dettt Manifold Install
R31Nismoid replied to BoostdR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Diameter wise - whats the internal of the pipe? Just thinking if it's actually larger, will it hinder perhaps due to lower velocity etc? The runners are certainly longer ye? Be interesting to see results. Certainly a pain RE: OEM piping/lines, but given the length of the runners that would be unavoidable regardless -
Indeed I know it will mostly fall on deaf ears as the community has been so perplexed by the media sensationalism that is "HOONS" over the past 18 months. The "longer" version which is apparently making it to print is a bit better and more detailed. I had to chop around 300 words out. The site said it had a "1200" character limit, but it wasn't 1200 LOL. MS Word said i was down to around 800 IIRC. Although that said, i do read a bit of "letters to editor" in some papers in response to articles written. Even if you do not agree neccesarily, a well worded reply at leasts get people thinking. No doubt the paper will also make the Officer aware of the reply. Even if he reads it, that is enough for me. It would appear he might not be as open minded as other officers that we all know, but you cannot do much about that. I don't expect him to change his view or suddenly step back and go "Well hey, perhaps I did go a step too far". I mean given the media, his management, the Gov't etc etc - he is forced to be over zealous from the start almost as if it were a brainwashing. I know at the end of the day SAU-Vic is doing the right thing most of the time in the Import world when you compare to a lot of other groups/individuals around the place that really are giving us a bad name.

Weigh up how much to fix it all. I bet parting it out might be an option

Could just be blowing a bit of build up out. Or just a bit rich on the tune, which isn't necessarily a problem. I leave a bit of a cloud when on a full throttle tramp. if you worried, go stick it on a dynoto get things looked at. or just stop looking in the rear view mirror!

Lithium - link up where this is going on? Ye well there is hardly anyone other than Full Race that have done any testing thus far. Ok so in effect it's more. Guess thats not all bad $3000 for a BW, $2000 for a Garrett Have they released anything other than the .83 or .85 IW housing in T3? If they have not - you need to change manifold or get adaptor plates made if you want to go bigger OR smaller in the rear housing size far as i understand it. At least if you don't like the Garrett (or other turbo options, parts etc), you can just sell em and there are plenty of people ready to buy, hence what i mean by commital which sorta has more than just an obvious cost if you cant then go and resell if it doesnt work out
-
would the issue not be them actually catching up to em? lol.

That is the trimmed version. Pity they approved it AFTER approving 6 others, so you cannot see it on the main page now I've made a larger one directly to them that I've been told is going to be published.

Import Monster Sauvic Deca Motorkhana - 2011 Round 1

Well rumour has it, no power increase Turbos are def bigger. Will have to sus out whats going on. At least i have my first excuse primed and ready -
Not sure if it'll be in "letters to the editor" or whatever... They didn't say. Someone that gets it locally will perhaps need to scan it
-
Well the officer told them if they were to leave - nobody would be defected or EPA'd. Turns out that was a lie and people are now getting EPA's in the mail - which is a no-proof based defect. Bit pathetic. I've been informed however that my response will be published on 8th March. Should be good
-
I believe E85 was used. No doubt he will see this and confirm as I'm certain but not 100% confident. But what you do NOT see on a dyno sheet, is how a turbo transitions up onto boost and so on. I once had a 500-550hp T04E/T3 hybrid thing. I put on a GT30 - both at that point running 12psi and making around 220rwkw. The power delivery didn't look "overtly" different on a dyno sheet however on the street it was very noticeable in between gears and so on. Ah indeed, it is such a tough decision at times as there is much for and much against.

Rb25Det Engine Loom And Ecu Options
R31Nismoid replied to MODNIZD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Failing that you could have just grabbed a brand new one from Nissan. They are actually rather cheap - around $600$-$700 if you can get someone to order trade. Considering you've already brought 2 or 3 2nd hand ones so far, and all the fk assing around, would have been easier. But as Femno said - just use as much of the loom as you can. It'll be much easier than using some of it and then wiring in another ECU entirely. That'll give you more headaches than you have already. -
I'm not going to be tricked into telling you whats going on noob
-
No mate of mine easy to aggravate tho
-
Mate of mines blown LS1 sounds like that. The sound it makes coming up behind you is just downright scary Thing runs 10s and he drives it daily LOL, rather ridiculous, but amusing.

The Grill Room, i posted early in the thread etc - It used to be a Squires Loft, and then went out on their own years ago. So it's certainly "up there". Been to the CBF Squires Loft a few times myself, very good venue also. LOL @ Pub, everytime i've had a steak @ a pub - asked for Med Rare, it's come out with only a slight tinge of pink in the middle. You get over trying to have an argument with the staff about how it's not Med Rare and some 17yo comes outta the kitchen to try and tell me I'm wrong

Links to this info & direct comparison? I've seen nothing that tells me the other turbo's have better performance at all. They come on top boost/power too sharply and later than the Garrett equiv (sometimes there is no equiv rated item, so granted its a bit hard). The EFR series from BW also has good results too compared directly to Garrett and are the same pricing near enough. Only issue being a totally different flange pattern which makes choosing a BW turbo very expensive and committal as if you don't like it - its not just changing turbo, its the entire hot-side. Yes the Kando etc items do make the power, I'm not arguing that at all and Simon did get some pretty good results when you consider the price - cant argue with the value. However if you want to argue about the performance, thats a different bucket of fish. So it's as i said earlier. If you can afford - do so. If not, then don't. There is a difference, and i feel it's a important one for *most* setups people.

Import Monster Sauvic Deca Motorkhana - 2011 Round 1

True, as long as you can steer - which i clearly cannot - even 4WD isnt going to save you. I'm a testament to that This time though, I'll go balls deep with another 40rwkw!
