Timmy's R34 Gtt
timmy_89 replied to timmy_89's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Anyway, on to Sunday. Supersprint at Mount Panorama. I didn't really take any pictures, but did have the GoPro in the car. I was still getting used the new power delivery and I had also asked Jez to remove the HICAS and TCS computers from under the parcel shelf. Unknowingly, this also 'disables' the ABS. If you didn't know this, now you do lol. Anyway, I guess I'm pretty happy with the results, I claimed 1st in class and 2nd outright for the day Here is a video of my fastest run for the day (could easily be improved upon). The last I did the supersprint my best time was a 52.47. They shortened the course this time by about 100m, which we estimated to be about 2 seconds less in time. Today my best time was a 44.85. Suffice to say, I think the car goes a little quicker -

I kinda missed making some of the latest updates so now for a big (shortened) post. Jez did an amazing job at mounting the Aftermarket Industries SP1200 surge tank up under the parcel shelf. The battery has now been moved to the side of the boot. The plan was to pick the car up this Saturday ready to race at a supersprint event on Mount Panorama the following Sunday. The car had pretty much been pieced back together and this left only one thing being tuning, fit up the Nistune flex harness. As it turned out, I hadn't been sent the voltage adaptor with my harness so Jez was quick to get on to Matt at Nistune to get one sent out. This was Wednesday night. Matt had the adaptor in an overnight parcel first thing Thursday. Jez decided to get the 98pulp tune out of the way, so this was done Friday morning. (Obligatory Dvs Tuning dyno photo) The car responded relatively well to the new setup and Jez was able to tune a reliable 270rwkw. No less then 5 minutes after I was told the results, I had notification of the parcel being delivered. Jez found it at his door and got to fitting the voltage adaptor for the flex harness a little bit later. Then the sad news. Jez informed me that the Nistune software wasn't reading the flex sensor. At around 9PM he called it quits and I was not feeling hopeful as Matt from Nistune had now gone on leave for the next week. Jez had sent me this. 8AM Saturday morning I get a message from Jez "I got it reading". I was rather ecstatic to say the least. Dyno results below - suffice to say I was happy ^_^ Whilst the car was there I also had a new pod cover/enclosure made up. -

Hi all, You may already be aware, Alpha Omega Racing have been developing adaptor kits to fit front Evo Brembo’s to S/R/Z chassis for some time now. As some of you are aware, they have recently finished development and testing of their rear kits, creating a cost effective way to get some bigger brakes on the rears of our cars. Alpha Omega Racing recently ran a group buy for the front kits and is now offering a group buy on the new rear kits, as well as a second round group buy on the front kits (now Version 3). The new version for the front kit means that now both front and rear are completely bolt-on (except for the dust shields being trimmed). The front kit previously required you to cut a tab off the hub. They are also stronger with the new design. Company: Alpha Omega Racing www.alphaomegaracing.com Products: Evo 350mm Brembo Front Brake Adaptor Kit and/or Evo 350mm Brembo Rear Brake Adaptor Kit. These adaptors are 100% CNC machined billet alloy, grade 7075, which is super lightweight and high strength. Fitment with 18x10 +15 What's included (front kit): - Left and right adapters made out of one piece of 7075-T6 billet aerospace alloy - Various high tensile 12.9 bolts and high tensile washers - Full installation instructions with pictures Front fitment with 17x9 +15 What's included (rear kit): - Left and right adapters made out of one piece of 7075-T6 billet aerospace alloy - Hub spacers - Various high tensile bolts and high tensile washers - Full installation instructions with pictures Rear fitment with 18x10 +35 What you need to get (front kit) - B.Y.O. or supplied by Alpha Omega Racing: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo frontcalipers(including pads/pins/shims/clip) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 front 350x32mm rotors - Custom brake lines Alpha Omega Racing can supply all of the above parts, but you also have the options of sourcing them yourself. I personally sourced parts for my front kit elsewhere as I had my own lines made and picked up a cheap set of calipers. Alpha Omega Racing has these parts listed at: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo frontcalipers (used) - $850 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10front350x32mm DBA T3 rotors (new) - $470; or - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10front350x32mm DBA5000 2pc (new) - $1200 - HEL custom braided brake lines (new) - $130 What you need to get (rear kit) - B.Y.O. or supplied by Alpha Omega Racing: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo rear calipers (including pads/pins/shims/clip) - Nissan 370Z rear 350x20mm rotors - Custom brake lines Again, Alpha Omega Racing can supply all of the above parts if desired. I personally sourced all parts from Alpha Omega Racing for convenience with the rear kit. Alpha Omega Racing has these parts listed at: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo rear calipers (used) - $450 - Nissan 370Z rear 350x32mm DBA T2 rotors (new) - $450 - HEL custom braided brake lines (new) - $110 Silvia (180SX/S13/S14/S15) drivers who want a functioning hanbrake will need to use the R32/R33/R34/Z32 rear drum setup, a very common upgrade. It is also worth noting that the rear kit requires a 6mm hub spacer to be installed for caliper clearance, this will also push your wheel/tyre out a further 6mm so may affect guard clearances. Alpha Omega Racing can also offer services to rebuild your used calipers, powder coat them, or even install the whole kit. Using both the front and rear big brake kits developed by Alpha Omega will result in a 69:31 brake bias. Wheel clearance: Minimum of 17" race style wheels with good clearance are required. Brake Master Cylinder: You are able to retain your factory brake master cylinder, however it is recommended to upgrade to a brake master cylinder with a piston size of 17/16" (such as a BM57). Genuine OEM BM57 BMC’s are available from Alpha Omega Racing at a price of $500 (new), or you could also try to source from your usual Japanese parts suppliers or Nissan dealership if you desired. Price: The RRP for the front adaptor kit is $370 plus shipping, while the rear adaptor kit is $450 plus shipping. The group buy discount will be based on total number of kits being purchased, not the number of buyers, and will apply as such: - <5 kits = no discount - 5-11 kits = Front kit for $340ea, rear kit for $420ea, ($30 discount + free shipping) - 12-19 people = Front kit for $310ea, rear kit for $390ea, ($60 discount + free shipping) - 20+ people = Front kit for $280ea, rear kit for $360ea, (90 discount + free shipping) Alpha Omega Racing also offer packages with the adaptor kits and other required parts. They provide discounts on normal pricing, but will also be offered with the $30/60/90 discounted pricing of this group buy based on numbers, meaning a further saving. These packages are: - Half kit – includes the adaptor kit and custom brake lines Front – $449 (reduced from $500) less group buy discount Rear – $499 (reduced from $560) less group buy discount - Full kit – half kit, plus calipers (used) and DBA rotors Front – $1649 (reduced from $1820) less group buy discount Rear – $1299 (reduced from $1460) less group buy discount - Boss kit – full kit, plus full rebuild kit/service and powder coating of calipers Front – $2179 (reduced from $2400) less group buy discount Rear – $1709 (reduced from $1930) less group buy discount Fitment with 18x9 +30 Group Buy Condition: The group buy will run for a two (2) week period, finishing at close of business on 11th November 2015. Anybody interested in purchasing either of the kits/packages as part of the group buy should notify me by the cut-off date and I will add them to the 'buyer list'. At the conclusion of the group buy period I will tally the number of buyers and advise Alpha Omega with the total numbers. A discount ‘coupon code’ will be provided to each buyer allowing them to get the appropriate discount in the shopping cart on the Alpha Omega Racing website. NOTE: Group buy is a PRE-ORDER and will have an approximate four (4) week wait between payment from all parties and delivery. Prior to the cut-off date all communication will be with me either via this thread or via PM. At the conclusion of the group buy, once you have been provided with the discount code, all communication will be between the buyer and Alpha Omega Racing. All shipping and payment details will be between the buyer and Alpha Omega Racing only. Any warranty on the product(s) will be provided by Alpha Omega Racing. Extra Pictures: Front fitment with 18x10 +35 Fitment with 18x8.5 +36 Front fitment with 18x9.5 +12 Rear fitment with 18x9.5 +12 Yellow S15 fitment with 18x10 +11, silver S15 fitment with 18x9.5 +22 If you have any questions, regarding the kit or the pricing, please don't hesitate to ask either by posting in this thread or sending me a PM. This morning Jez notified me he had noticed a crack in my manifold, before I even finished typing a message to some fellow SAU buddies he had sent me another message saying he had one sourced lol. He finished bolting up the new turbo today and is part way through fittings the new fuel setup. Will post some pictures of the surge tank, etc, after it is all finished -

Just waiting on confirmation of group buy pricing and it will be up. They were waiting to see if I had any issues with my install and I took a little bit longer then expected so I may have caused the delay there I am hoping to have the group buy up next week, shoot me a PM and I'll make sure to message you once it has been posted . I already have a number of people I need to message as soon as the group buy is posted -

So as you guys figured out, the package from Hypergear was a brand new ATR45SAT. I opted to go internally gated for matter of ease and am very hopeful of what power Jez will be able to pull from it when he works his magic. Here is a pic comparing size to the stock OP6 highflow. -

Well I have just finished cleaning up the car after the drive to/from World Time Attack Challenge. I was asked to put it in the show n shine by Alpha Omega Racing after finishing the install of the rear kit. Unfortunately I seem to have suffered from either heat stroke, or was mesmerised by all of the awesome cars (maybe both) and didn't take a single photo of the car there. Will post any up that I find but feel free to chuck some up if you find them or took some yourself, would like to see them. I have also packed the car up ready to be dropped off at DVS Tuning tomorrow for Jez to work his magic. I'll be leaving it with him for at least a couple of weeks whilst he does a few things with the car. Teaser #2 -

There is actually a reasonable amount of clearance between the spokes and the caliper if that's what you're referring to? -
Front swaybar, and front and rear braided HEL brake lines all sold pending payment/pickup. Stock front rotors also possibly sold pending.

Finally finished rebuilding my calipers and got the brakes all fitted up to the car. They are a perfect fit, very snug though. I haven't been able to really take the car for a drive after bleeding up the brakes, being Bathurst 1000 weekend there are far too many highway patrol around for any nice daily driving. The Skyline cooincidentally got defected this exact day last year so I wasn't going to let that happen again lol. Will get the pads bedded in during the week before heading to WTAC in it -
Is it black and gold or blue and brown? Btw, not sure if I missed it or not but what power are you making with the SS2? Pic of dyno reading?

Been a bit slow in doing the rear brake conversion but it should be all back together next week. I have disassembled the calipers to repaint and rebuild and have been quite busy as well so progress has been a tad slow. I also had a delivery today. More news to come soon. -
Should be happening soon, I believe they are just finalising a few things with the kit, it will be on display at WTAC though, so if not before it should be very close. I have made a list of people who have expressed an interest and will message everyone once the group buy is up

timmy_89 replied to owen1r's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Haha fair enough. How come you're wanting to change to an Evo? My GTT with stock cooling was reaching oil temps of 110+ after ~3 hot laps and water temps were 110 minimum rising to 130 with a few hot laps. I fitted a 52mm Fenix radiator and some China oil cooler with a Greddy block and now I don't think I have seen either go over 80 degrees and I give it hell so both definitely make a huge difference. -

^^ Agreed, looks great! Sliding around is always fun, looks like you're getting the hang of it, nothing helps more then practice . Then you can work on transitioning between the corners How did you end up going with the radiator and oil cooler? -
Bunnings are the #1 splitter part suppliers, closely followed by Clark Rubber

No it finished some time ago. There will be an upcoming group buy for the rear kit however, I will chat with the guys and see if the front kit can be incorporated in to the same group buy
