come here with a f**k head topic, your gonna get these "f**k head" replies dude.

Chopping springs is for morons, there arent any around here, so its highly unlikely.

Find your local Commodore/Ford club and go ask them.

Why is it so important anyhow?

I've cut my rears. 3 out of 8 coils. Made it sit n look really good but the handling was crap. The only reason I cut it was coz i was ordering the new Whiteline kit and just wanted to see what it feels like before the kit arives.

My recomendation is DON'T do it as you'll regret it.

In my experience, absolutely no problem to cut a coil off a spring. As long as the coil is still captive in the suspension, at full droop, it will not fall out. In fact I bought some lowered springs (name-brand) that were not quite captive, and they never fell out. Only problem was they sat the car too close to the bumpstops.

As long as you are sensible about it, then it is not a problem.

The major problem is when tools cut half the spring away.

i did it once

I used to drive a VN as a first car and one day me & a mate took them out and chopped them just to see what it would be like. We cut the rears by 2 coils (we had spare springs).

Better handling - $0

Better looks - $0

The look on the mechanics face when the springs fall clean out when car is up on the hoist - $ Priceless

In short, don't do it. Its dangerous and will cause u to crash if u drive too fast with them in.
