Is it just me or am I starting to see more and more r33 GTST's crusin around with GTR badges on them. On the way to work the past two days I have seen two different GTST's with them on. Im almost certain theyre not cause they dont have flared guards and one of them looked like they almost standard GTST width tyres on it and they both dont have the GTR body kit on them.

Whats with it, I cant understand why you would do it, the only people that will really appreciate the fact that its a GTR is a skyline enthusiast or for that matter a jap car enthusiast, who will also pic a fake a mile away.

Has anyone else spotted these fakes whilst out and about and what do you think about them, personally I just laugh my head off, I drive a GTST and proud of it and i wont lie I wish it was a GTR but its not so why pretend.

you really don't like em do you nex :P

haha I loved that thread, pity half the pics don't show up anymore.

It is also an example of how crap these people are, as it was complaints from the tossers and their fake GTR's that had the thread locked!

good times :P

Ahahaha I dont think i would be proud to have a GTST with a GTR badge on... obviously the person is trying to state a point. Isnt the whole idea to beat GTR's? If that was the case I would be putting my GTST badges on!

I actually debadge my GTR for some time and its true.... some cant tell the difference. Get more races, get more tools.... lol

GTR or GTST ... still skylines, better than your commodores.

Yay Arbess!!! A GTR owner who gets it!!! Doesn't discriminate and doesn't judge. A Skyline is a Skyline. I hate hearing that crap about how us 'poor' GTS-T owners need to earn more money to get a GTR!! I Chose the GTS-T for my own reasons, and judging by the amount GTR owners have to spend to make more power, it is a clear cut win to the GTS-T crowd. There are more of us and there always will be, so get along or don't, your elitism is unwarranted and sad.

Sorry to all those GTR owners who do socialise with us, but most don't want to.

personally i dont descriminate any GTST owners at all, i do have respect for most of them ( some of their cars are faster than GTRs any way).

but putting a badge on is just stupid..........i saw one the other day, but he ran away from me. lol

I am one of the lucky few who have a foot in each camp.

I have a R33 GTR V-Spec in pristine condition that I use for my weekend toy.

I also have a very nice R33 GTS-T Series II that I use as my daily driver.

I love both of my Skylines with a passion (just ask the wife) and I appreciate each of them for what they are. They are two very different cars and I would never put a GTR wing or badge on my GTS-T because I am proud to own it as a GTS-T.

And on the seventh day God created the Nissan Skyline and to own one is like nothing else.........

Reason I bought a GTST is that it was about $10K cheaper than a 32 GTR at the time.

As time goes by that same money could buy me a 32 GTR with $5K left over now

all good points ... still if you badge your car as something else other than it is, then be prepared to have fun made of you.

If you can handle being ridiculed and living a lie ... then all power to you.

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
