Wrong!! In a number of ways. Twin pods are popular but on my RB25DETT in the track car I ran single AFM and single pod, however the stock GTR setup is single airbox and is good enough for my 260rwkw/0-100 in 4.02s.

I did realise that twin setups can be run off a single filter, but AnjoO was aksing about having multiple pods for a single setup - which IMO is pointless, the only real time when having multiple intakes would have a potential benefit is in a twin system.

If you want the loudest pod, the HKS one is the go.

I have one and the induction noise is huge - pity it's one of the worst filters! :D

But then again my pod is shielded so I'm not worried about that. Get a pod and you should always pair it with a box or shield.

i have a apexi pod on my r33 and to be honest after 8 months of driving the car im sick of the induction noise.i have brought a standed airbox and will be putting that on to see if that shuts it up some . the car came with the pod and i have brought the standed box since with a good pannel filter i dont expect to drop power just lose some of the noise i hope

cheers

Heres an idea,....

Get a microphone and mount it under your hood near the STANDARD EFFICIENT and LEGAL filter box

and amplify it through your stereo system so you can deafen yourself and impress all the 14 yo schoolboys waiting for the bus in your area.

SK I think your right!

Yeh well the pod selection is easy the next problem would be heatshielding. All good too put on a pod filter but if its sucking in hot air then can anyone say detonation!! especially on those lovely 40 degree plus australian summers.

man, get the apexi kit from greenline or nengun (check to see which is cheaper)

I got the twin pods on my gtr and they are loud enuff, and as you saw on the website test, the filter the best too.

steve

the noise on a twin setup on a rb26 is much quiter than a single pod on an rb25

PS, I put this thread up there in my Top 20 worst ever questions

LOL sk!

Anyway - I have a LOUD K&N pod filter. I hate it, its too loud.

Anyway I have a custom heatshield, it fits R33. If you want it offer me $50plus $10 postage

Reason for sale - I now have a proper CAI box, from Maxx.

I also have a standard R33 airbox (no snorkel) with brand new B&N panel filter for $100 plus post if anyone is intrested.

to make a pod legal (in qld anyway) all you need is a fixed mount for it, for example a bar than comes from the adapter plate to one of the stock airbox mounts.

i have a front mount and can't run the stock airbox as i can't use the snorkel, so the airbox just sucks hot air, but i have a cold ait feed to the pod from the front bar, up through the empty intercooler hole.

having the pod partioned is only good if you have a feed to it. if you just have it partitioned off with no air feed to it then you will lose power.

i plugged the recirulation hole in the stock bov and that cut down a slight bit of induction noise. if you want a pod with minimal noise go for a k&n with the power intake top (the flat top one). i have had one before on my 180sx and it made no induction noise, and i'm veen in a skyline that had one with no noise, but it did have a slight partition. i will have to ask him if he has nosie now that he has put a hks filter on to see if is just the partition.

Well it turns out it WASNT a direct bolt on and i neee some bs adapter now...mmmmmmmmmmm....maybe i bought the wrong pod?

heres the one i got can someone tell me if i got the right one.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
