I called the seller and told him I'll pay via bank cheque, he wanted cash but i explained to him its the same thing? He may have thought i said Personal Cheque? although I have no idea between the both of them. Commerce isnt my strong point >_<

He told me the name to put the bank cheque under anyways so yeah..

Mate either way.

If you're not comfortable with heaps of cash, bank cheque is the best option.

A bank cheque, you pay the money in advance, so the seller is guaranteed that the funds are there.

i.e The cheque cannot bounce.

Whereas a personal cheque, can bounce, if there are insufficient funds.

However it takes 3 days for them to clear (like a personal cheque) quicker if he's willing to pay for special clearance.

Explain that to him and I think he'll be happy, can't blame him for being hesitant in regards to a standard personal cheque lol.

Bank Cheques can sometimes bounce aswell....just though i'd let every-one know.

Make sure you have insurance covered before you pick up your car.

Good luck :)

Yup.

I just didn't want to mention 'how' over the net :), for obvious reasons, because it involves shiftyness on the drawers behalf (person buying the bank cheque, in this case, buyer.)

Bank cheque created. Told Comm bank was buying a car and asked me if I want commbank car insurance. They said they will check up the quote for me and said I was declined haha. No suprise there

Picking up car on Tuesday and taking to vicroads at 11am for rego. Should be legally on the road by 1pm.

I could come to the sau vic meeting on the same day (15th) but i have to learn how to drive/park the huge thing :) (comparing to the auto Getz ive been driving)

lmao they drive like a small car imo.

or maybe im just use to it

^^, car rego'd and sitting on my driveway.

VicRoads were a c**t, they didnt give me rego because i had 17's instead of 16's and due to the spoiler. I removed the spoiler and left the brackets on, and he still said no. So i had to unbolt the friggen brackets which was hard enough as not all screws could have been accessed from the underbody of the boot lid.

All good now, although my oil is low haha.

Will get more pics later

Im off to drive :D

Why no rego for 17"s? Its not illegal. In vic you can go as big as you want in diameter for wheels, as long as the rolling diameter doesnt increase by much.

Good to see you got it in the end though. This is why i always go to Dromana Vicroads - they dont deal with imports very often as you could expect...

on the consumer information notice it stated, 225/50 R16 Nexen, but it didnt match up with the set of 17's i had on. So had to go back and swap them over. Removing the brackets off spoiler really pissed me off as it wasnt even an obstruction.

Racepace said oil pressure is lowish.

Car was sitting above E with 95ron and i quickly put in some 98ron from 7-11 as I couldnt wander off too far from the direct route to vicroads. (or get a fine if pulled over)

Rare ocasions car idles like crap and isnt stable. Assuming its the 95+crappy 98.

Might drop by to sau meeting today. Although ive never driven in the city and getting used to manual again. (have driven for 2months~)

:D

Another quick pic i took;

Hey i found your car!

http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...hp?StockID=3960

But where's your big Pivot tacho.....hopefully your seller told you it has an "Accident repair history -- supplier reports the repair to be straight and clean."

looks like your dealer just gets cars from prestige and puts his markup on them...:(

but still, if your happy with the car then thats the main thing :)

haha wtf.

Pivot wasnt included but it had the sticky stuff which needs to be cleaned.

Accident repair history? Im guessing it was the back. As my boot lid is missing stickers on both sides and probably had a respray. If it was serious racepace would have picked it up right? haha

Dropped by at the meeting today for a short time. Showed Paulr33 the car, seemed to be all good.

How'd you manage to find that link?

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
