Bastards! Yeah some do have a stock immobiliser, my silver one did as well, we found out when they were installing the Aussie standard alarm. I actually think the Horn on the 34's is louder than the alarm I've got now. Way more annoying as well.

fingerprinters just came and got prints and dna, i've reassembled the lock and it starts fine, but if the assembly isn't together, it doesn't get ignition

thats neat

the starter motor doesn't smell very nice after starting, but at least the car is drivable until i can get the locks and column replaced, then look at replacing the starter if it starts giving me grief in the future

i think i'm gonna go see the boys at mt gravatt car wash for an in and out to get rid of all this fingerprint dust =P

oh hell

i thought i was gonna get out of this cheaply, but i noticed the little warning light on my dash telling me the airbag is nonfunctional

aren't they like 3-4 grand to replace? =/

hey now thats a good idea I may come up and meet you for a drink what time u going up?

sorry mushy, you just missed me as i went out the door i think, is all good

tuesday dinner <3

could be just a side effect from the wires being messed with, there is also a airbag light reset procedure,

Get in the car and close the door, turn the key to ignition, open the door and press the door ajar sensor button 7 times.....All within 10 secs the light should go away.

dont think you will need to replace the bag

Also you might want to have a look to see if there is any damage to the wiring(it is the yellow loom) Give us a yell if you want to get an alarm on.

also, thanks for the offer but noone even pays attention to car alarms these days

i think blinky light and fkoffheavyclublock will fix any future defiling of my car =(

Sorry to hear Ein :D

All of my car friends went to sizzler last night and while we were eating two of the cars got keyed on every panel bar the roofs....its so so shallow, damn it annoys me >.<

Sorry to hear (read) this news Mel

Hope everything gets fixed up soon.

Ummm, which sizzler was this?

And sorry to hear about this too...makes me :D :D

Sizzler in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.

After we saw found out what had happened we went back there and spoke to the Manager and guess what we found?

The two cars that got keyed were directly under a brand new 8megapixel live security camera =)

the cops dont do jack bout it sam, my lude got done in subway mdore and i got a clear shot of the clowns doin it got the footage takin down to the cop shop and they basiclly shrug it off, typical cops!!

good luck getting the scum bags MEL

Who said anything about cops?

We know the guys who did it =) Turns out its one of the girls in our groups ex-bf's keying her new bf's car and his mates...So there will be something coming to them thats for sure. They Just dont know it yet.

Geez Mel,

I am glad your car didn't get nicked!

Time to get an alarm I think. Our club sponsor Audio Express does them for a great price I hear. If nothing else an alarm will let you know if someone is out front tampering with it.

the thought of anyone damaging any car thats not theirs (particularly an import) pisses me off. If i ever saw anyone hurting an import id go f**king rage. and thats regardless of whether i know the owner or not.

    • That R31 was so cool. Only did Orange Park once. Scared the hell out of me.

    • The alloy coolant reservoir has a sight glass, so as long as I can see coolant in the sight glass it's GTG, as for PS, it isn't anything catastrophic if it gets low, and as it hasn't lost a drop since I have owned the car I cannot see it being an issue, even after putting the "big block" 2.5 in....LOL The only time it gets slightly messy is at oil changes, as the oil filter sits above the frame, and I need to use a plastic bottle with its bottom cut off to catch the flow when loosening the filter
    • Good on you for taking on the job, but it is a big one. Even if you have bolt on manifold and turbo, you will need: Post throttle pressure source to boost controller to wastegate (and FPR, and ECU/MAP sensor) Pre throttle pressure source to top of BOV(s) Oil feed - you can take that from the standard port in the middle of the block Oil return to block under the turbo - this is much trickier than it seems to route a decent/wide pipe past the manifold. You really can't use rubber hose because it is way too hot there, and also the oil out of the turbo core is a bit frothy so it needs to have a decent diameter Water feed - you can take that from the standard port in the rear of the block. Water return - mine runs to a T into the heater box return, just make sure you don't create a high point making bleeding hard. All of those lines should use 200 series style teflon braided hose with heat shielding because everything needs to be routed past the manifold. Also a turbo beanie is a really good idea to minimise the chance of the car catching fire (under bonnet lining in particular) You also need to decide a cam cover breathing solution as well, will you vent externally via a catch can (probably illegal) or return to the intake (plumbing required and can oil up everything over time) Keep in mind the intake and exhaust piping in the engine bay will be custom so you either need to be able to fab ally and steel or have someone you can get a car that isn't running to. Get the wideband fitting welded into the dump pipe at the same time. Also, just my opinion, a screamer pipe attracts attention and doesn't add power, I'd plumb it back if you want to be allowed to keep the car on the road. BTW do you know anything about how healthy the motor is, and what power you are targeting? Doubling or tripling the factory power on an unknown motor is a little risky. Also fuel system will need some attention (pumps, high current hanger, direct power and earth feed, injectors etc)
