I've made an executive decision. I'll push on with this thread. and any future japan trips photos I will just upload into here as it's a bit dumb to keep making a new thread every few months. This way they will all be in the one place. So please excuse the mix of pics from different Beer Baron adventures. :(

The aero bits at the sides of the front spoliers that generate some extra front downforce. They are usually left unpainted.

ahh, I'm with you. yeah, especially the saurus ones on the white 32... mmm hot. you will hate me then, but I confess my car had those on it when I got it, but I took them off as being sliced open when walking past the car didn't appeal. of even worse someone else doing it in a carpark, then deciding it was my fault and taking to my car with a bat. so they are sitting in my garage on the bench. maybe one day for track only I'd put them back on.

edit: I call them canards. but I think dive plane may be more accurate.

BAAASTAAAARRRRRRD.

Sorry, that was uncalled for.

I had thought that some with end fences (ie a right angled bit on the outside) would be slightly less lethal. Nonetheless I am quite sure plod wouldn't understand. No appreciation. :(

yeah, mine had the ends slightly turned up, but they were still lethal. they look cool though.

ok, here is a nice pic. The Golden Temple - Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto. Amazing place.

Temple gate (Torii) in Kyoto.

5 tier pagoda on the island at Miyajima. This island is considered (for centuries) one of the 5 most beatiful sights in Japan.

Approaching Miyajima from the mainland. This floating Torrii is one of the most famous landmarks.

img2318fw4.jpg

2 deer duking it out at Miyajima. There are heaps and heaps of deer all over the island. Most of them have had the horns removed, but some have not so you have to watch yourself.

Like this bad boy for instance. I wouldn't want to p1ss him off!

img2449jd4.jpg

Massive coi carp in Asakusa. No japanese temple or shrine is complete with out a coi pond stacked with massive coi carp. but this one was particularly impressive.

Employees of a Maid Cafe in Akihabara handing out flyers.

Contrast that with this interior of a JGTC car. See Japan does have something for everyone.

gorgous mate, noice wheels!@

i do have a degree but i dont speek / write, go figure the misses is the one who hasnt finnished her deg but she speaks and writes 'some'

gw! TOP stuff

landscaping is bloody elegant!

love it, if i could go to jp i would check the hole place out, car, music, architecture and some history... im gona cop the hole yellow feavor thing since hte misses is asian... but she aint jp's so it doesnt count ^^

go for hte cars, stay for the experience mate

well the degree is mainly for visa purposes (but doesn't hurt if you want a decent job). you wont need to speak or write any japanese to work for a foreign company, but of course it wont hurt either. and would certainly make life easier if you planned to live there.

Nice pic of the Calsonic R33

R33s don't get much love it seems. All 32s and 34s.

well there are a lot of 33s out there. there just doesn't seem to be the same number of modified ones on display at places. for sure though the 32s and 34s seem to get all the attention. just much more popular with the kind of japanese guys that are into modifying GTRs.

I call them Canards too... and so does the rest of the Automotive industry :D hehe

no thanks, I've heard sex stops once you're married so I'd rather keep our relationship as is.

rofl. fair enough. I can understand that a little beer baron now and then may be hard to give up. plus I don't think mark would ever allow me to marry another bloke. well, I'll just have to keep up the regular pilgrimage then. :ninja:

just looking at some of the kyoto pics and miyajima pics. the colours really are amazing. love the canon image processors. they give great colour.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
