I dont know what the penalties in NSW are mate for this kinda thing.

Mine was in conjunction with other stuff though (careless, reckless etc etc). I beat some charges, but not all of them ... ended up being a 6 months walking for me.

This was going back... 4 years, maybe 5 now. So laws have changed i would imagine, although they might not.

You'll have to talk to a professional either way :)

All i can tell you is that if you dont have a credible witness, your stuffed. Regardless of what actually happened... the Officers word will hold more weight than yours regardless of his "bending" of the story, as i've had happen 2-3 times now. Lucky i had witnesses the other times, silly officers :(

Ok, well, according to him, i was exceeding the speed limit by 45kph, so i was charged with that. on top of that, he chardged me with driving in a manor dangerous, and he worded in as follows:

"you are also being charged for driving in a manor dangerous as it is raing (which it wasn't) and that the road was a poor surface"

Any help?

Well basically, your lucky your not being charged with careless/reckless aswell.

Thats the thing, if you are 45 over, even 30 or 20... they can slap on extra charges if they want/see fit depending on the circumstances of the case.

Either way, sounds like you werent being a little angel.

You really need to talk to a lawyer, could cost you upto $600-800 all up maybe.

Either that or dont spend the money, as the fine will be rather hefty too possibly. If its your first offence it wont be too severe, maybe around $500.

But then its all speculation... you really need to talk to someone about it

i got done for negligent driving around 5 years ago, ive got no idea if its the same thing. i only lost 3 points. im not sure if theyve added a suspension to it now. check the rta website and see what the penalty is.

arnt these on the spot fines? at 45km'h over the limit its instant loss of licence... whats a couple more points ontop for dangerous driving?

Seriously, talk to a lawyer WHO DEALS IN TRAFFIC OFFENCES and get some advice. Dont just go and see any money hungry suit for advice because some of them are much better than others

Always thought a "manor" was a grand estate with a magnificient house, servants etc.

Did he really spell the word "manner" incorrectly? Time for a sharp lawyer.

I think in vic its now 12months walking and a possiable conviction (unless you show remorse :P) + $700 ish in fines

Either way as people have said, his word counts in that situation even if you weren not in a "manner dangerous" get some nice runners :) and a good legal rep.

recently some stupid chick copper pulled me over as I am about to pull onto highway as I was leisurely stopping up at the lights, (to turn left onto said highway). I had seen them with lights like in the distance behind me as I was simply doing 80 in a new 70 zone outside my workplace just prior (twin lanes separated by 3 meter's of raised island with tree in it essentially the same speed as everyone else around me at the same pace i thought to myself they must be on a call to get somewhere so i get myself into the left lane as everyone else around me also does, no problem. the light goes green just as they are getting to us so naturally none of us move waiting, they literally pull up behind me with lights going etc but no siren so I think it was wierd an cars infront move of so I do to just after the corner they buz me... im like wtf? the misses an I are in the car she's in her pj's an i chucked on some rough jeans an a t to go pick up dinner from chilli's. *yea yea big night out* meh anyway so this bird copper walks up to the door and first thing out of her mouth is SO... you dont like your licence much... i was kind of shocked and asked... excuse me... .what are you talking about madam ? literally madam... polite etc... she goes we clocked you @ over 100kph etc bla bla back there only just cought you, didnt even know you were a p plater so you cant complain we are picking on you for being a p plater etc (im 24 and green p's, sue me). I litteraly said, no, sorry your wrong, I would like to see your speed camera reading etc, she breaks in we were following you and you just disapeared in front of us. I said hold on, someone ran from you ? she said yes you *pointing at me* just hammered it turning right onto the round about, I said first of all you werent following me this is the first time i saw you and second I turned left on the round about after delivering movies to blockbuster back at the shops. I was most certainly not doing anything like that, I was following traffic and not going faster than the cars infront of me, at no time did we exceed 80 kph and she said, you realise it's a 70 zone. I said yes ok, thinking i was a dumb shit. then she goes back to her car with my licence comes back and starts ranting at me that with all her years as a copper im not pulling this over her and that she was no junior constable bla bla bla. I said no I wont accept that. she said I was lucky she didnt have a book of some sort so she couldnt write out the fine but to expect one in the mail, I asked what for? she said im giving you a 15 and over bla bla I said I will not accept that and she said expect it in the mail good bye... walked back to her car leaving me staring at her back... low and behold I recieved the damm 15 and over fine and even though I am going to fight it I expect to thoroughly loose and have to pay $234. as opposed to the less than 15kph fine which is $50, points wont affect me as I've got full points but that is entirely besides the bloody point.

IM FUgNG PISSED OFF f**kNG kent copa

I always respected coppers before, but I just have none for any traffic patrol f**kwit. Im going to abuse the shit out of any one i can from now on.

yes I realise thats not a good idea and a particularly childish one. one i wont be doing IN my car but anywhere outside driving is fair game.

I mean she didnt even know who she was chaseing prolly called it over the radio an had to find someone or maybe there was another phantom white line somewhere i dunno either way im getting screwed for some BS!

Geeeez.... talk about being pointed out (literally)

I've never had that happen, but i could definetely admit that if that happened to myself and i had someone in the car with me then I'll ask for proof of speed, if they argue or rant on i'll ask for badge number, take down police car number etc etc. If you knew a lawyer i reckon that'd make an interesting case.

But i have to say at current i haven't had any trouble with cops... besides once about 'Undue Smoke and Noise' which was caused when i hit the breaks and they locked up (r32 gts-t...).

But talking about copping the wrong end of the stick..... :(

It sucks like most of the laws....but..they all(Authorities) want to make $$$$$$..the more charges the more mulla.

I see lots of people driving this way everyday...and they are doing the speed limit... >_<

Some people drive this way all the time...they have no idea what is going on around them...luckily

we look for them and stay clear.

It is when two of these people come together on the same street they have an accident.

Why don't the authorities take some action when they see an old man/women or dum driver doing 25 in a 60 Zone...thats dangerous.

And what about the people who brake first(hard) then indicate.

Sorry dude.......your in for some fines...court apperances and more fines, not to mention your legal(lawyer) costs.

This is so they can advertise more to say we are cutting the road toal.

Has any one ever been charged with this??

yeah, road block and all [thought I'd driven into WWIII], but it was so long ago I don't reckon it will count. it was night time and the lights were pretty!!!

PS Never got done for speeding, it was a D's car and they had no radar and by the time I got to the road block I had slowed down. Also D's get crappy cars, he couldn't catch me...........lol I left him for dead, but you can't beat radio waves.

Guessing you are the one who got done street racing?

Look up the rta website and see where you stand. Better yet, you might need a lawer.

With all these new laws and tough rules, it might be hard to get out of it..

gdluck tho..

    • And now to the front.  No pics of the 3 nuts holding the front struts on, they are easy to spot. Undo 2 and leave the closest one on loosely. Underneath we have to deal with the wiring again, but this time its worse because the plug is behind the guard liner. You'll have to decide how much of the guard liner to remove, I undid the lower liner's top, inside and lower clips, but didn't pull it full off the guard. Same issue undoing the plug as at the rear, you need to firmly push the release clip from below while equally firmly gripping the plug body and pulling it out of  the socket. I used my fancy electrical disconnect pliers to get in there There is also one clip for the wiring, unlike at the rear I could not get behind it so just had to lever it up and out.....not in great condition to re-use in future.
    • Onto the rear lower shock mount. It's worth starting with a decent degrease to remove 10+ years of road grime, and perhaps also spray a penetrating oil on the shock lower nut. Don't forget to include the shock wiring and plug in the clean.... Deal with the wiring first; you need to release 2 clips where the wiring goes into the bracket (use long nose pliers behind the bracket to compress the clip so you can reuse it), and the rubber mount slides out, then release the plug.  I found it very hard to unplug, from underneath you can compress the tab with a screwdriver or similar, and gently but firmly pull the plug out of the socket (regular pliers may help but don't put too much pressure on the plastic. The lower mount is straightforward, 17mm nut and you can pull the shock out. As I wasn't putting a standard shock back in, I gave the car side wiring socket a generous gob of dialectric grease to keep crap out in the future. Putting the new shock in is straightforward, feed it into at least 1 of the bolt holes at the top and reach around to put a nut on it to hold it up. Then put on the other 2 top nuts loosely and put the shock onto the lower mounting bolt (you may need to lift the hub a little if the new shock is shorter). Tighten the lower nut and 3 upper nuts and you are done.
    • You will now be able to lift the parcel shelf trim enough to get to the shock cover bolts; if you need to full remove the parcel shelf trim for some reason you also remove the escutcheons around the rear seat release and you will have to unplug the high stop light wiring from the boot. Next up is removal of the bracket; 6 nuts and a bolt Good news, you've finally got to the strut top! Remove the dust cover and the 3 shock mount nuts (perhaps leave 1 on lightly for now....) Same on the other side, but easier now you've done it all before
    • OK, so a bunch of trim needs to come off to get to the rear shock top mounts. Once the seat is out of the way, the plastic trim needs to come off. Remove 2 clips at the top then slide the trim towards the centre of the car to clear the lower clip Next you need to be able to lift the parcel shelf, which means you need to remove the mid dark trim around the door, and then the upper light trim above the parcel shelf. The mid trim has a clip in the middle to remove first, then lift the lowest trim off the top of the mid trim (unclips). At the top there is a hidden clip on the inner side to release first by pulling inwards, then the main clip releases by pulling the top towards the front of the car. The door seal comes off with the trim, just put them aside. The the lighter upper trim, this is easy to break to top clips so take it carefully. There is a hidden clip towards the bottom and another in the middle to release first by pulling inwards. Once they are out, there are 3 clips along the rear windscreen side of the panel that are hard to get under. This is what the rear of the panel looks like to assist:
    • Yes. Autos typically work from the speed sensor on the pinion shaft of the diff. I also think that even if you have a proper speed sensor for the bog manual in the manual box, that the signal it outputs is not compatible with the auto dash anyway. You should consult that manual (the book, not the gearbox).
