WTF? i have appoligised for using that term, whats the problem? i said i will use the proper term next time, and i don't get on here and bag ppl for how they use certain terms. Get over it and talk about cars, i think thats wat this forum is about?

your apology included "what is the problem with the word......"

perhaps this is why a few people have a problem with it?

wow it looks like a pretty handy device.. considering the reaction to this topic i wonder why its relatively unheard of / why so many s2's didnt come with a remote when imported :domokun:

Edited by Brycey

I have a S2 but cant see any special "magic" button near the accelerator. There are a whole heap of wires to the right of the accelerator - possibly the thing has been hidden or disabled? Or was it just a factory option?

Had me thinking, how many "magic" buttons can a car have? So many little tricks with our awesome wagons :domokun:

Those are all fine, it was a word that is mainly used as a racial derogitory expression of the japanese race.

ANYWAY, Back on topic, my S1 doesnt have it, and I should know, I took my whole freaken dash off!

Im under the impression it is illegal to have one in ur car?

Or is it okay as long as you have a failsafe making sure your car is in neutral (or park)?

I know friends who have them on their motorbikes due to having dry sumps etc.... but are you allowed to have them under ADR?

PS Bloody hope mine has one...

Guess its like the xenons. If i buy a car and it turns out its got em, i figure ive paid for them and i want the choice of using them. Its a risk i'd happily take. Not that it is cold enough here in sunny QLD to warrant needing to warm ur car up. Getting ur air con running for a few minutes before u get in, maybe...?

Do the stageas with this remote start come with a failsafe fitted?

You can start the car remotely (from up to 300m away), but the park brake must be on and be in park. But as soon as you open the door, the engine shuts down.

Stagecoach, if your car in fact does have one, you will need to have the fob (see various pics in thread) & the ppl who fit the mandatory immobiliser for compliance will no doubt make it inoperable (whether intentional or not) So chances are pretty thin.

Good luck anyways!

Is an immobiliser fitment mandatory??? In all states??? Would like to find out b4 my car is ready to come home!!! I asked the shop in Brissie and they said there was no immob fitted and that it would have to be fitted after compliance was approved and car was picked up... know any sites which list what cars, or even S2 Stageas have to have done during compliance. They don't even change the oil anymore!!!

Its funny what you find in the cars you buy.

I have an R30 with a neat little fuelump cut out switch, hidden away under the carpet.

Also my S1 came with a piece of wire hanging off the fuse behind the coin tray. Who knows what that was for.

On the subject of racial slurs, I'm a Pommie Bastard and you can call me anything, but dont call me late for breakfast. LO F#^%#L

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!

    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
