all i know about them is that they are a wagon version of the galant vr-4

These are on my list of cars which i will be importing next... preferably the Super VR4 though which were limited in number... 800 i believe.

They came with Recaro interior and a nice bodykit etc... not sure on what else... sure a quick google will tell all.

Always loved the look of these since i was in NZ last and saw them everywhere... theres a few nicely moded ones over there and theyre pretty common family cars.

I beleive the gearbox is the same as the evo 4 gearbox. Dad has one over in NZ. They are sweet cars. Really grippy and they accelerate quite well. I wanted to buy one when I was buying a new car, but all the importers I spoke to told me they couldn't bring them in. It seems I have been fibbed to.

i think (and i could be wrong) but it did have AYC from the evo and the automatic gearbox that was put in GTA. so should be a good car.

also look here http://www.clubvr4.com/index.php?page=Specifications

and http://www.clubvr4.com/index.php?page=BuyersGuide

Buy a Stagea.

Parts availability in Australia would be scarce, but you can get heaps off trademe.co.nz.

Also if anything goes wrong, it's not exactly a well known car, or engine in Australia.

Also, the engine is a piece of shit to work on, to change spark plugs on the back 3 cylinders, you need to remove the intake manifold, etc... Maybe the only car worse than a Z32 to work on

Personally i think the stageas look too dull... theres the odd one that pops up every now and then thats not bad with a decent kit and wheels... Not just that but ive seen a few stags around... i havent seen any of these... yet.

Stag is still on my list too but the features in the Super VR4 and the price far out weigh the downsides vs a stag

there are downsides to all cars mate... just pick the one U want

this is the SUPER VR-4....cant find one in manual though...only triptronic (which i aint interested in). Interior in this is leaps and bounds better than the stock ones though...mmm Recaros

this one was a 1998 model an bout $15,00 landed an complied.

Stageas seem to be much bigger and heavier than these? these look to be more like a WRX wagon type size?

main thing that sparked my interest is there a bit different an fairly cheap option. But maintenance an parts supply are my concerns with them.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
