my S1 has a big wing i think its a GTR wing i am like wtf if going on Also do all S1 have air bags cause i don't think mine does

is there a way of Telling if i have LSD on silvia u pull back seat out and there a sticker

hey the wing is a gtr style wing

air bag was an option until 1995, in 1995 drivers airbag became standard, and series 2 skylines (very late 1995-onwards) all have dual airbags standard

all gts-ts have LSDs standard (i told u this in another thread!)

Sunroofs were an option, at least with S1. Mine was optioned :headspin:

And thinking of I don't think I have seen any S2's with them, at least not as from the factory.......................

']What about sunroofs? where they available in all of them? s1 and s2?? anyone got a series 2 with sunroof?

i cant seem to find a s2 with a sunroof... what would you choice... the upgraded s2... or the s1... with SUNROOF!! :jump:

sunroof was most definetly offered in series two from the factory i have seen a few of them.

Differences also include the 40th annv stitching in the seats lol if you've got one..

nismo front bar, rear sway bar in boot, gtr rear wing, sunroof, hicas..

i'm sure these cross into SI and SII - depends on what the original owner got factory..

also what about HICAS - do SI have hicas?

I just bought an R33 which appears to be a S2, its a january 1996 model. What concerns me is that it may not be a real S2 because it has no ABS or sunroof. Does anyone if the very early S2 come without ABS ?

Another trivial but important tip for buyers of secondhand parts.

I tried a series 1 aerial on my series 2 and it's different, the aerial plug is different, the S1 tube is fatter, thusly the screw on crome bit too and the angle of the grommets is heaps less. I mangled the S2 for the arial plug and fitted it, but the angle grommets FMU and it didnt two stage anymore. (notice that the plug surround on the S2 is yellow) With the slimmer tube they made the black outer grommet go through the panel to eliminate earthing / potential rust spot?

so can anyone list the HARD AND FAST FACTS that a buyer can use to tell between a series 1, 2 and 1.5 if they are a different model between 1 and 2?

do ALL R33 GTS-T's come with an LSD, or is it an option?

is there anyway to tell the model of an R33 by any identification numbers etc?

The definative way to check the model is using the FAST software from this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...++nissan++check

But simply, the Series 1 v Series 2 differences are in this thread, a series 1.5 looks like series 1 but has the series 2 motor (ie no ignitor pack)

What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
