Why should it be the other way around???

I'd never used a sequential stick before the DSG and i kept pulling down a gear when i wanted to shift up. It "felt" more natural to pull down when accelerating due to the forces (maybe?). Even currently in the Stagea sequential auto, i still do it sometimes.

I've picked up a mag over here which has the first undisguised pics I've seen. The front is very clean with some very tasteful carbon detailing on the front sides and rear. It actually reminds me a little of the Carbon Burnout Kit I had on my CPV35.

Yes, well I havent broken it yet so its still on the 35 :(

I found an I O U in the glove box of the 35 today, I cant believe i didnt see it it before now! it says "This IOU entitles the new owner of this vehicle 1x Drive & 1x Hotlap in my soon to arrive GTR. Love Jeff"

Will be interesting to see how it holds up against the the 35 blown :)

Nissan are really being tight lipped about info on the new GTR. A good mate of mine Stephen Barnes, who works for northside said there was not extra details / specs he can provide when submitting a offer to purchase.

Stephen you are the second to put their name down, thats brilliant Jash.

BMW use to have their steptronic, UP to go up, DOWN to go down a gear. But reversed it in the new cars and to fall into step with their SMG boxes as they felt keeping it relative to the forces the driver is experiencing is more natural.

Accelerating you're being pushed back in your set, so PULL the gear stick back. Braking is the opposite, so PUSH the gearstick up...

that's what i think the logic was anyway...

not sure if it's been said but the V35 350GT has forward = up, back = down

i can't see nissan changing their mind, although in hte V35 its as simple as changing over 2 plugs to reverse the system if you're that way inclined. i'd say the GTR would offer the same option for those in the electrical know-how

Hahaha no shit aye! I was wondering why my gear changes were the opposite to the logos + & - printed on the shifter surround.

Yes it makes the action more natural this way!

Congrats on the order...

Why not have a box that moves left for down and right for up...like writing..lol......1 2 3 4 5 6

Who are the dumb f3$ks making these decisions?... :laughing-smiley-014:

The only reason the GTR is going to be priced that low is that we have had a surge in the Australian dollar.

My predictions was close to 200K about a year ago..most just laughed...

SO BE GRATEFULL FOR THE OZZY DOLLAR GUYS ;)

Thats what i was getting at. I cant believe they would even consider it the other way..

Anyway good luck to all the blokes lucky enough to have ordered one.

Although GTR_35 if you are taking delivery in 09 what year model will the car be stamped..

I imagine it will be 2009 build if it is a March delivery.

I will be in the first allocation, and this is the earliest ETA given.

Japan is first, then USA then Oz. Japan will start delivery by Christmas.

well you just keep us informed shan of any workshops gearing up for this car ;)

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
