Hmmmmm decisions, decisions ....

Both 25,000km(ish)

Blue = full leather, TV, front lip, CE28Ns (but not tuff enough offset), full stainless exhaust with titanium tips, stainless intake pipe, thrashed??

Red = half leather, TV, sunroof, cleaner engine bay, stock, not thrashed, $3k cheaper

I can't decide .... damn buying a car is hard work ..... especially after the one I had settled for didn't work out, and there are no more auto black sedans for sale in the country (and I dislike all the other sedan colours).

Opinions?

Personally I'd get the red one, get a good base and mod it your way

if it was me andrew

half leather: at least the lad cant spill any nasty stuff on any leather around him from his booster seat (except the seat in front)

stocker: blank canvas (as said)

red: havent seen a red V35 in adelaide yet

got all my accomodation booked for my holiday in thailand

which part are you heading to n where u staying at???

was there in in November lastyear, awesome place to go, just hope there aint no protest happening at the airport again

Are your comments as to whether they have been thrashed statements or questions? Do you know either way? What mods would you plan to do to the red one if you bought it? If they include a front lip, exhaust, intake pipe then why not have someone else pay for them (ie get the blue one)? Would you use the sunroof? What condition is the leather in for either car?

Going on the very limited info you've given us and if you're not sure I'd wait longer until a black one turned up. Are you opposed to a personal import?

Edit: Just looked at the photos. Blue one has white side indicators and red one has an Infinity badge instead of Nissan. Don't like the wheels on the blue one and from the photos the red duco looks better but that may be purely time of day, better wash, better camera, better photographer etc.

with the time this is taking, you could probably just import one... and it might even be cheaper now with the current state of the $

i could put u in touch with the guy that found my car if you like

im going to Koh Chang (staying at Koh Chang paradise resort), Chiang Mai (@ Bodhi Serene) and Bangkok (i think the place is called Imm Fusion).

i cant wait

The blue one would include brand spanking new full leather seats front and rear. Yes, I would do all those mods anyhow, so yes in many ways the blue makes much more sense. I love the CE28Ns, but they don't have enough dish and offset, so yes would sell them for good $$$ and buy another set of the same style or a different style. No, I don't know the blue one has been thrashed, I just wonder if it has been, given the fact it is modded. Chances are it isn't though. BUT the pics of the red ones engine bay and interior it does look much better looked after. Yes I would use the sunroof a lot - I love them - always have the wife's Accord roof open, especially on nice days.

Yeah thinking of a coupe now Heslo - I like the sedans, but every colour but black just doesn't do it for me, and I can't find one. And I was most sold on the GT8 CVT gearbox (awesome to drive), which I was warned can develop funny problems and be an absolute PITA to fix .... then the one I hadn't even bought yet did that exact thing, and the seller has given up even trying to fix it and is just going to flog the car off at auction for it to be someone else's problem. So then I have to go to a 2005 model for it not to be CVT, and they jump up $5-10k from what I was looking at, so I might as well just grab a coupe. The coupes are MUCH easier to get mod parts for too than the sedan. And the back seats are a pretty good size - I would just have to break my back getting Tyler in and out of the child seat every now and then. Not too bigger deal.

Fishy, believe it or not, since the car market is so incredibly bad in Aus, and so many dealers have had so many V35 sitting around not selling, I would be buying either of these at or below the price I could import one for. I have been speaking with Geoff from Prestige and keeping an eye on auction prices. And I can't be arsed going through the long import process again. Also works out better tax-wise to buy one already here, as I can claim the GST straight back as I will be buying it through m company = effective $3,500 saving. I also get some sort of warranty from buying from a dealer, rather than buying sight unseen.

Just watch out for those Ladyboys, Bezender .... just walking down the nightclub streets and peering in the establishments in Phuket was enough to put me off :puke:

Truly awesome place though. Make sure you go out to "James Bond Island", and the island where they filmed some of the movie "The Island" on a decent modern boat. Awesome fun. Koh Samui is really nice too.

LOL Andrew.....Red goes faster!!

Seriously, I'd go for the one in the best condition and best value for money..........the $3K you save will get you some nice wheels

Full leather is neither here nor there, however, sunroof is where it's at!

I say blue.

If you are going to modify it, the car at the moment isnt heavily modified at all. You can sell the rims the owner has, and put whatever tickles your fancy. The exhaust side, well you will most likely be putting an exhaust on the car anyway, so why go through getting another one!

But dont listen to me, its all your choice.

I've never really understood the appeal of sunroofs in Adelaide. Great in spring, great on a summer night and useless the rest of the time because it's too bloody hot. I've had one on both my 205 GTI (first the red one and then the green one) that I've owned since 1995 and don't use it that often. Maybe that's just me... I am a WHITE man who burns easily and since turning 28 I've been developing my own 'sunroof' that should be finished by the time I'm 38.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
