That time of year folks... and for once... i must say ive left the Exhibition Centre in a reasonable state (and hour) :(

The stand setup/design this year is (in my opinion) the BEST SAU-Vic has put on :)

You will see what i mean if you come down and check it out.

For once, i actually understand the theme by looking at the stand lol!

Everyones cars also look bloody sensational too i might add, some cars have scrubbed up extremely well which is good to see members taking pride in thier ride!!!

So come down, support your club and checkout the sensational efforts people have put in.

Everyone will be there through-out the days.

We are located next to the Alpline Stereo business stand, and very close to the Dyno aswell so you cant miss us

Cheers! ;)

Ash

hey i was there earlier on - met and had a great chat with Turbo X too - Gday mate, top bloke~!

SAU stand looks awesome, very nice variety of cars and nice theme also!

Look out for me, i'm in the chasers stand amongst all the *drools* GTR's and EVOS

They've got some good stuff happening this year - drift RC, lots of home entertainment concepts and wicked driving simulators too. Only shit thing is that the DYNO section has been moved to the back corner only allowing one grand stand as a viewing platform. Rumuor is there's a 500kw+ GTR lurking somewhere too

Hope to see many ppl there over the weekend

cheers!

Ended up leaving around 2100 which was a good time to leave. The stand is looking ace and I'm really happy with the way it's turned out.

Thanks to everyone who's put in a big effort to get us to where we are now. All we have to do is make it through the weekend...

RH9 is there again sporting a nice T88-GK rather than the 3542s of previous years. Expecting to see well over 750awkw from that.

just got back from it. i got bored after 45 mins though..

wasn't too bad. got photos of some girlies which was good. lol

Nice meeting you ash and the other boys ( forgot your names.. my bad)

il try n post up some pics when i get the chance.

cheers

finishes at 6 tonight. i was there with R33GOD, stand looked good guys, im hoping to have my baby dolled up and ready for next year in march. If SAU Vic has a stand in march ill be there.

got some nice shots there.

What a weekend, im really stuffed so this will be brief and highly inaccurate no doubt :D

Few points.

- We took a runner up trophy for best club theme (i think)

- Stand looked absolutely brilliant, theme was great

- Everyone helped out, and we were packed up and outta there by 7:15pm, a new SAU record lol!

- Plenty of knackered units today after fun and games of the weekend

- Work pagers/oncall sucks teh donkeh nuts.

- Promo chicks - they rocked!!! No complaining all weekend, simply brilliant

- Some other clubs went ALL out (didnt expect that), so we'll have to step up another gear

- I've already been running over some ideas for '08 (some exceptionally outlandish... but i think we need to go beyond for '08)

- Im really tired, need sleep, wont have much of a voice tomorrow

No doubt the pics will flow over the next 3-4 days and this thread will fast become 56k - NOT friendly ;)

Probably the most entertaining MAS i've attended in a few years.

God Dammit!! I'm a truely busted unit!

SAU-Vic definitely put on it's best show yet. As Ash mentioned, we won a trophy for Best Club Theme (runner up) but given that clubs like Allure put in a truely massive effort, they were well deserved winners.

Thank you so much to our models (Sandra, Kate, Fiona, Kayla, Ang and Lauren (dissappointed by Julie not being able to make it but oh well)) for putting a huge effort in supporting and promoting SAU-Vic. You did us proud! ;)

We hope that everyone who entered had a good weekend and enjoyed their MAS experience.

Next big show will the Australian GP in March so keep your eye out for details. We're definitely going to be representing there as usual and if you think this weekend was fun, you won't know what hit you when the GP comes round! :D

I'll put photos up this week for all to see.

Off to beddy byes now.

Twas a great weekend! My ears are still ringing form the deafening drone of doof doof and scream of external gates! That's what you get when you are positioned near car install stands and the dyno.......

The theme worked great, and the last minute marque was awesome too! Thanks to the guy who bought that? Who was that anyways????

Good to see so many well presented cars. Much interest was raised by the old skool falcon and the flutter wagon. Handbags car snatched (hehehe I said snatched) a runners-up award for something or other, perhaps the fat kit award or something. Pity it had issue on the dyno with it's last run a sobering 215kw.... Just a tad under the 360 it made previously. Hope it's not too bad Newts.

Thanks to all the SAU crew who added the show too. Was an absolute blast. Thanks.

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
