i got my copy now, printed the online bigW price of gta4 n took it into eb n got it for 78 instead of 120 ooo yeh big thanks to the guy who mentioned it for 78 at bigW cheers mate....

, the cars are way to simulator like but i do love the fact of holding the break n poping the tyres so good lol awsome..

also love the way when u car jack some1 they try to hang on to the car n get dragged along the ground

i think the games a lot more of a simulator now its kinda lost its real arcade type feel, but its still mad

so wats other ppls favourite bitz of the game, im up to the level where u go shotting the ppl in the appaerment with the black guy

I think you'll be the first to figure that one out :)

I think it'd work.. Cant see why not. Essentially its the same game with very minor differences..

Yeah hoping it works hey!! Just sitting around and waiting now!!

Apparently my copy will arrive on Wednesday!! Only A week late!! Will be having neutral feedback with the seller on EBAY!!!

at first i played it for a couple hours and thought it wasnt that good. then it changed. lol. i have ended up playing it for like 6 hours at a time, time just flies when your playing this game. better than i thought!! im up to 40 % finished so far...

does anyone know if you can buy houses or anything like that so far??

I think you'll be the first to figure that one out

back in the day when GTA3 came out on PS2...they released it and then took it off the shelves before later releasing the censored version...from memory, saved games on the non censored version didn't work on the censored version..

Damm hey! I'm really getting stuck into the Game and i dont wanna get to far into it cause i'll get over it if i have to start from scratch again!!

Yeah mine froze on the loading screen the other night and kept doing it.. I unplugged the ethernet cable then it worked ok, as someone else said if I lost the saved game i'd prolly get bored of it pretty quick hopefully they do a patch soon

I had a go at multiplayer, funny shit jumping into a car with a mate hanging out the window causing chaos

anyone had problems loading up a saved game

i did yesterday :whistling:

yeh every now and then it wont load for me, so i just quit game, re-open and its fine

if any of you are having trouble with onine "lost connection to one or more players" dw, try hosting your own ga,me and it should work for you. its widespread so fix should be on way.

p.s. anyone notice the R32 gtst wagons ?

Picking up my ebay uncensored version after work from the post office, it is the waiting for me yay.

For those interested i have been informed on other sites that game saves wil work if you started playing a rental or whatever and then got your copy.

I will confirm this tomorrow too.

well this should explain my resolution question. and why mine defaults to 720p. pinched from another forum:

"There are 3 types of HD games on the PS3.

Games that are 720p native (will not run at higher resolutions).

Games that are 1080p native (will run at 720p, 1080i & 1080p).

And games that support 720p & 1080i.

You can't force or "trick" a game to run at 1080p if it doesn't support it. What you are doing is getting it to run at 1080i, then the PS3 is outputting the signal progressive. The reason games that support 720p and 1080i default to 720p is that 720p outputs at 60 frames-per-second, and 1080i is half that (30 fps). Visual detail on a moving image is about the same for both resolutions (1080i is twice as many pixels, half as fast) but the higher frame rate is better for gaming. So when you try and force a game to 1080p you are actually getting a lower frame rate, and no increase in quality.

The reason they put 1080i support in games is that some older HD sets do not have 720p (they are 1080i only for HD), and on those sets a 720 only game ends up running at 480p SD resolution (Sony never enabled full hardware scaling for HD games). The game knows the best resolution to run at, so don't waste your time trying to "trick" it because you can't get 1080p out of a game that doesn't support it. Games that have true 1080p support will run at 1080p. If the game picks something else then that is the best resolution for the game.

NOTE: COD4 is a special case because it does "support" 1080p output, but it is not rendered at 1080p. COD4 has software scaling built-in to the game engine. It is actually rendered at 600p and scaled to whatever resolution your TV requires, so the game is not really a 1080p game."

Well ill be damned. Might have to set mine back to 720p then, see if i can notice a difference after playing it on 1080p for so long. Thanks for that man

I found an evo lookalike with bov sounds lol, shoots flames too

its on the third island in the top right hand corner where theres 3 paths, at the end of the middle path behind a garage in the bushes

Hey i my brother has the cut version and ive got the uncut one .. is the only difference in the cuncut version that the hookers have a $20 $50 and $70 services and u see em goin at it ?

Cos if thats the only difference does it realy matter if u have a cut version realy .. i mean it doesnt affect the gameplay at all ..

Im a little disapointed that there are no planes and no car customization ..

But it is pretty mad though .. im lovin it ..

no planes cos they said its in a city, what u need em for. same thing with no tanks or attack choppers (there is a coast guard chopper with mini guns though) cos you dont usually get a military base in a city lol.

as for customization they took heaps out and i hate it !!!

no car mods

theres only 3 clothes shops ?

no tats or hair cuts (could be forgiven if they didnt take so much other stuff out)

i really dont understand why theres only three clothes shops, thats the worst bit ...

yet they still have a stat for your fav one lol

i wish there was optional property to buy like in vice city but again not as big a deal

anyways i finished it yesterday .61% complete. just gotta go kill some pigeons, do some jumps and steal some cars and stuff now lol . . .

Ok heres what ive found to be the differences between the games.

1. Blood, The blood has been toned down in the Aus version. When you kill someone in the uncut version there is a blood pool that comes from under their body.

2. Hookers, In the cut version you only see the rear number plate of the car. Where as in the uncut you have 3 choices on what you want the hooker to do and you can see in the car.

3. Language, It seems the cut version has the language toned down a little.

Thats all ive found so far, Ive been playing the cut version since release and just started the uncut one today, ive continued on from where the cut version left off. So i can confirm that your save will be ok when you switch versions.

    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
    • So, what else.... Power. I don't know what it is making because I haven't done a post tune dyno run yet; I will when I get a chance. It was 240rwkw dead stock. Conclusion from the day....it does not need a single kw more until I sort some other stuff. It comes on so hard that I could hear the twin N1 turbos on the R32 crying, and I just can't use what it has around a tight track with the current setup. Brakes. They are perfect. Hit them hard all day and they never felt like having an issue; you can see in the video we were making ground on much lighter cars on better tyres under brakes. They are standard (red sport) calipers, standard size discs in DBA5000 2 piece, Winmax pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, all from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney. Keeping in mind the car is more powerful than my R32 and weighs 1780, he clearly knows his shit. Suspension. This is one of the first areas I need to change. It has electronically controlled dampers from factory, but everything is just way too soft for track work even on the hardest setting (it is nice when hustling on country roads though). In particular it rolls into oversteer mid corner and pitches too much under hard braking so it becomes unstable eg in the turn 1 kink I need to brake early, turn through the kink then brake again so I don't pirouette like an AE86. I need to get some decent shocks with matched springs and sway bars ASAP, even if it is just a v1 setup until I work out a proper race/rally setup later. Tyres. I am running Yoko A052 in 235/45/18 all round, because that was what I could get in approximately the right height on wheels I had in the shed (Rays/Nismo 18x8 off the old Leaf actually!). As track tyres they are pretty poor; I note GTSBoy recently posted a porker comparo video including them where they were about the same as AD09.....that is nothing like a top line track tyre. I'll start getting that sorted but realistically I should get proper sized wheels first (likely 9.5 +38 front and 11 +55 at the rear, so a custom order, and I can't rotate them like the R32), then work out what the best tyre option is. BTW on that, Targa Tas had gone to road tyres instead of semi slicks now so that is a whole other world of choices to sort. Diff. This is the other thing that urgently needs to be addressed. It left massive 1s out of the fish hook all day, even when I was trying not too (you can also hear it reving on the video, and see the RPM rising too fast compared to speed in the data). It has an open diff that Infiniti optimistically called a B-LSD for "Brake Limited Slip Diff". It does good straight line standing start 11s but it is woeful on the track. Nismo seem to make a 2 way for it.
