haha no pressure. I actually have a friend who just did his first cycle, has a week left and put on about 8kgs. We think he will drop bit of that weight cause he said he put most of it on in a week or two.. was interested in how much Vspec managed to keep.

I cant really risk roids due to having a heart condition called ARVD especially if all I was hoping to gain and manage to keep is like 4-5kg, which is a good gain i realise but the risk to the reward not really there.

Too many downsides to the roids that I could afford haha!

Doing it natural will be far more satisfying in the long term imo

On another note, I did the seated behind the neck press for the first time today. I liked it, managed to push out 5 sets of 8 (only made 7 on the last set) on what I think was 60kg. I think I'll alternate between it and dumbell shoulder press from now on!

Military = standing press, whether behind neck or not, to my knowledge. It's also traditionally done with a barbell. If you're doing it standing, make sure your knees are slightly bent to preserve your back and put one foot forward.

I never do it behind the neck, I have been told by a few trainer it's actually bad for you

Yeah...f**k that. They say the same about lat pulldown. It might be riskier for injury, but I have been doing both exercises behind neck for many years with no adverse results. You do need to have a good technique and build up flexibility to pull off a decent range of motion (i.e. touching neck), though.

I like behind neck because it isolates the delts and you can't really "cheat" by involving your chest.

Good advise Birds, I'll keep that in mind.

What are you guys doing in terms of barbell military press? I'm finishing up on 55kg barbell.

(mind you I'm Asian, 6 ft, 86kg, can't get any stronger.. been plateauing for ages)

Military behind neck and touching it, 40kg x 10 on the first three sets, 50kg x 10 on the last three. 79kg 6'3

What sort of body fat do you estimate Johnny?

I am not too sure to be honest, never really looked into that. I am bigger than all my asian mates, and on a good day can bench 110kg with some spotting.

I find that I can't get any stronger, and if I start eating a tad less I shrink. I'm a tad flabby, like not defined.

Probably 20% body fat?

Oh, so Birds is a guy, cheers Mitch

Sorry about that Birds, odd username

All good brother, had the nickname since I was young and my avatar doesn't help :)

That being said, I know a girl who is about 6'5 and her boyfriend is nearly 7' lol.

I think if you doing any form of resistance training you're going to get gains from it in the long term. But tailoring that program to suit your goal is what will yield the improvements you are most keen to see.

That has been one of the smartest posts i've seen on here.

Crossfit works, cardio works, powerlifting works, weightlifting works, bodybuilding works...it all works. Just depends what YOU need from it.

Does frequent masturbation work?

    • Which is why I didn't mention that hardness testing, and specifically mentioned the bore and deck thickness testing. Yeah, not really. The bore temperature will be a lot more even around the top half inch or so, where the material distribution is dominated by the deck, and which is the only place where the bore surface temperature heating any gas in the cylinder is likely to have any effect on detonation. Think about it. Another inch or so down the bore, you might have a hotter spot. The gas there might get a bit hotter, then the piston rises squeezes that gas away from there at high speed and mixes it with other gas from nearby. Instant dilution of the problem. I'd be surprised if it was an issue at any time other than in racing engines or OEM dev engines being run at the ragged edge of tuning. Say what now?
    • https://dsportmag.com/the-tech/education/engine-tech-material-hardness-testing/ The PRP testing on block hardness I'm not sure how much it actually can be trusted. The thinner cylinder walls on RBs is a bit of a problem vs 2JZ but it really depends on the design goal. Siamesed cylinder bores like a 2JZ cause uneven cylinder wall temps too, which means a bit of distortion induced by that + the hotspot can affect knock margin. Something that actually gives me a bit of pause with the PRP block, whether super thick cylinder walls are going to keep it from being drop-in compatible on an otherwise OEM rebuild.
    • Yeah very valid point. I am waiting for one of the other tuners to come back from vacation so he can help me a bit when the cat is installed again. In the meantime I am going to finish up my polishing and ceramic coating that I have started myself.    N45 Dr Beasley product is highly recommended for a paint primer / polisher. Using this EXO Gtechniq also for the ceramic but next time might use the light serum before hand also. Looks great.
    • Running rich in conditions where it shouldn't probably won't do great things for catalytic converter lifespan. I would fix that sooner than later.
    • Yes, important point. Watch the Motive videos with Herman thickness testing the bores and deck. You do not want to push the unlucky (thin) block as hard as you can push the average block.
