Lol turn 1 and the last turn at PI definitely is a highlight :D ...but I'd have to rate the corner going over Lukie heights as a bit of a fav.....left hander over a crest. As you go over the crest you feel the whole car unweight and it just drifts over to the right....you have to steer back onto the left hand side of the road and break hard for the 2nd gear tight right hander.

over the crest on the long wang! haha (Vic guys will know what I'm on about)... so much fun

seriously tho, turn 1 at PI scared me, but but turn 2 is far more technical and harder to perfect... turn 1 is more like dab the brakes, grow some balls, tip it in and hold on... turn 2 and a couple of the others I'm not sure where to apex so I find much harder to go fast through

long wang is always fun, I like the short wang though when you come out of the left hander, get on the gas, get a bit taily and up that "jump/hump" part!! awesome!!

The texi at sutton road with the big dipper and going over the little jump and having your stomach go from normal to up in your throat is awesome!! lol

flip flop at OP is pretty good. you know you have done the last 2 corners well if you are going fast enough that you want to lift off. plus there is so much road there now. track/ripple strip/concrete/more concrete/dirt. the only part you really dont want tyres on is the ripple strip. other than that just pick a line, hold the throttle flat and enjoy. it hammers the underside and suspension a bit though. :D

love coming off the bridge too. lots of track there to use also, but it's very dirty if you get too wide too early. apart from that it's a great corner.

4 and 5 at eastern creek is pretty good. you come down into 4 off the hill and it's one of those corners that can actually be taken pretty rapidly. then you need to be instantly back on the right side to turn in for 5.

turn 1 at eastern creek is good for the odd brown moment too but so many people I know have stuck it into the wall there with nasty results that kind of takes the fun out a bit. wish they would move that inside wall as it's very close to the track and claims many a fine car.

at wakefield I quite like the turn coming onto the back straight. can be tricky to time just right and is pretty important for a run down the back straight towards the last turn onto the front straight.

I going to assume you are refering to PS games.

More like watching F1 and Champcar, but when I posted it I didn't quite read through teh thread...

So yeah.. +1 for teh n00b...

Hayshed at PI scares me since I can't do it flat anymore. But getting through that and coming over the top of Lukies is super.

3-5 at Wakefield is heaps of fun - so is the esses into sweeper at Barbagallo.

And coming over the hill at DECA is crazy in my car - especially if there is no chicane there!

And finally - the time we got to do the Thunderdome @ Calder as part of the GP Circuit was completely crazy.

I can't make up my mid;

Kink before the chase on Conrod at 275+ kph, flat out, no lift off, that's exhilarating

OR

McPhillamy, it's blind. so you turn in from memory

Cheers

Gary

Fish hook in the wet is "fun" :(

What times were you doing Brad?

Going to the SSCC sprint march 2? Its my bday so I doubt I'll make it :D

South circuit was consiatanly doing 47's on sunday with a borrowed timer, but its got alot more in it once I sort out the suspension issue. Straight line speed was phenominal. Just felt like a drift car through a couple of turns.

Yeah im taking it back to oran park on sunday this week for a GP day to get suspension hopefully sorted.

Back on dyno the week after for some more boost.

Then wakefield on the 23rd for our circuit day

And with any luck ill have everything iorned out for the begining of the series in march.

flip flop at OP is pretty good. you know you have done the last 2 corners well if you are going fast enough that you want to lift off.

Totally agree. you question yourself and think should I shouldnt I then change your mind twice before holding it down hard!

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
