Hey Russ,

Finally found this thread. The 34 is looking the business.

I got my roll cage finished today and the dry sump has arrived. Thanks for talking me into that. Pretty happy with how it's all shaping up. I gotta start my own build tread for it. seems to be a good way to pick up some good ideas from the other guys.

Cheers

Coop.

Ps. A pic of my cage almost finished with new rear firewall.

hi coop,

cage looks very good. :P I see you have dry sump on the way and a PWR rad with oil heat exchanger like Russ's old one. hey if there is any 32 worth using as a blueprint for a fast reliable track R32 it's mark and russ's one!

oh, I know the answer to this one. yes the 33 was run, but I'll leave it up to russ to give his thoughts on it. all I'll say is that a T51R is a tad different to the nice twin set-ups they are used to.

Okay guys

finally an update!!

thought you might like to see how the r34 is coming along, still lots to do.

but we have done trial body fitting, engine and gearbox are in along with front and rear crossmembers and arms, most of the electric are done.

still needs suspension and engine management , all oil and fuel system etc etc etc

front wheel track will come out another 30 mm yet!

lots and lots of hours gone into this car already and so much more to do.

hope you like.

Oh, we like!

Details on brakes and wheels please mate? 380mm rotors? 18' rims?

Is the motor and turbo setup for this one finished?

hey Steve

The wheels are Advan RS 18 X 10's, the brakes are Alcon V8 supercar stuff, i think 385 mm.

The engine 3ltr with a twin setup :) , and 6 speed sequential holinger box with load sensitive gearshift rpm cut.

engine, box and final drive are in

Ive got rb30 and HKS GTRS's, even untuned its an amazing difference in comparison to twins on a 2.6L, you'll be very happy

Thanks for the info :)

And the big question im sure a lot of guys here are wondering; With so much left to do, do you think you'll have it at superlap?

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
