I find it funny how the title of this thread says these are aussie made, they are made in NZ by link electrosystems, they sell their versions called g4 storm and g4 extreme.

You can download Links software for them here http://www.linkecu.com/support/dlandswupda...ads/PCLinkV4-00

Nice AFR... Not...

Rather heading to the lean side on that mate at a 12.5AFR most of the way through the rev range...

That could be rather damaging on a warm day if it detonates.

I did not look at his graph but 12.5:1 should be fine provided the rest of the tune is up to par. i have tuned plenty of GTR's and RB's for track work that see way harder times than a daily driver.

i have also had some big number daily driver GTR's on my dyno leaner than that... all come from probably the most respected GTR tuning shop in aus.... hardly a concern.

I agree. I have been taking my car to JPC for the pass 3 years and i highly recommend them

Mark and Paul do outstanding work.

I spoke to JPC today and will be going in in a week or 2 to get a Vipec ECU installed and tuned.

I dont see the point in paying $1200 for a second hand Power FC when i can get a brand new ECU that seems to be better for $400 more!

Is there a downside to the Vipec system? Sounds all good to me.

I am pretty sure they are Australian engineering and designed. So, who gives a toss where they are made. Holdens are "Aussie made" and most of the small car range is made overseas.

Anyway, great ECU!!!

I was quoted $1650 plus 4 hours to fit and dyno......i'm now thinking of just getting the standard ecu remaped through dr drift.

Yeah it is tough to beat sams good work. He just did my gtr and I couldn't be happier

Like Trent, I too am interested in purchasing these items through someone other than a direct retail competitior...

I would say they had "input" from Ray hall as this is why they feature very similar fueling strategies to Autronic, but yes they are made in NZ by link.

I have no doubt they are a very good ecu.

Finally got the Vipec installed by Insight motorsports. Overall I am very happy with the results, the car feels a lot more responsive down low and coming onto boost, and more importantly is no longer running lean. Was safely tuned to 355HPawkw @ 17psi, car has N1's, exhaust and dumps and that's about it. All it needs is bigger injectors but will see how this power goes down at the track first.

Can post a dyno sheet if anyone is interested.

Did you go the V44 'plug in' or the Wire-in unit?

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
