The factory quoted weight for the NA 2.5L is 1320kg from memory.

ditto

that's how mine's registered, whether it's the truth, well i haven't had it weighted but i have to take the skyline NA on this issue... i was in the process of buying a car just recently and i only bought the skyline coz it just felt faster and smoother on the road than the silvia's... (also the r33 just happens to be my favourite looking car(maybe slight bias here))

gatty: true, in this instance you where probably a way better driver than the guy in the auto ca. :D

hahaha sorry i'm joking.. :D

Of course it has a lot to do with the driver, how the car is tuned etc.

Some people also dont know much about their cars powerband, when the perfect time to change gears is, and others are just plain retarded.

I'm sure the NA r33 wins the looks competition hands down, theres some damn bastard ugly looking silvias out there.

Infact I know a guy who has an N/A r33 and has dressed it up as a GTR.. pulls the ladies for only 15 grand! bargain.

I tend to agree with the guys who say a turbo silvia will beat a NA skyline. But when you have N/A silvia vs N/A skyline there's not much in it.

Have a look here compare a few times and you just might change your mind.

we are comparing NON TURBO silvias and skylines!

both the silvias i drove are non turbo, i thought that was obvious since we were comparing n/a silvia and n/a skyline. the skyline beats the n/a silvia in every possible way except handling.

and whats this about me driving a kitted up n/a to make it look like a gtr? i don't have a single aftermarket panel or badge on my car so :D

im gonna go against the trend and say i reckon the silvia would win.

sr20 vs rb25de i reckon the sr20 would win. im talking s13 sr20 the later series s13

in non turbo form i reckon the sr20 would. its a 4cyclinder, it revs harder and its lighter than the r33 n/a

a turbo sr20 would beat a non turrbo rb25de, well it bloodly well should, the driver must be very average

N/A silvia is the worst car i ever had.

mates first gen integra(pop up light) beat me EASILY

hi Ace will beat it

even those real shit box race me, i found a hard time to win

i am regret to buy a N/A silvia but not a civic SI as my first car!

  • 5 months later...

i own r33 gts25 with pod filter and 3inch cat-back(too big? kicks ass on top end).

past drags:

ca18det 180 with exhaust and intercooler. 1st and 2nd gear was head to head, third gear i blew him away. and i dare swear on my family's grave. But i can blame it on the driver too.

s14 sr20det. same day i got my car i dragged with my friends 200sx. i got ahead but he caught up and stayed 1 car length ahead of me. i was a noob tho. didn't know i had to rev out my engine. never retried.

n15 pulsar SSS with extractors exhaust filter and suspension mods. i can say he killed me. hehe i will never underestimate that car again!!!!

in my opinion. gts25t's are crap. i dragged a few. some i beat and some i lose to. i dont know why but they don't impress me. i expected more of a turbo version of my car.

i had a NA silvia (auto) and now i have an NA skyline (manual) and my line EATS NA silvias. IT seriously no contest. Off them mark, they can probably hold you for abt 30 metres, then u'll pull away. Ive come up against heaps of Q's with exhausts, T-wings, Rims and rice stickers (wether or not there valid...???) from here to jamaica and they wont go me.

Theres a reason why a NA skyline costs 2-3 times more then a NA silvia....

hay i drive a r33de and i beat na silvia's all the time yes i have the normal mods pod, exhorst, extractors and they are my friends and they drive very well so thats what i have experenced so thats my 2 cents

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
