Hey Guys

Went to WSID on saturday, chucked some drag radials on and unfortunatly i had to leave my Just Jap G4 coil overs in which are hard as a rock when drag racing.

First run 11.5 @ 129mph

Second Run (turned boost down 6psi less and stuffed the start with 2.4 60 foot) 12.3 @ 126mph

Third run 11.3 @ 130mph.

My best 60 foot was on the third run 1.845.

With some stock suspension i should see a mid 10 hopefully!!

Had my big Skylinesaustralia.com sticker on the back window and was the only jap car i saw there the whole day.

Power level is about 500hp at wheels on 25psi and 20psi on second run was about 420hp.

Anyone got some stock suspension in sydney they can sponsor me with?

Johno, i sent you PM back. cheers :(

Nah boost controll kit did not fit my PFC :( i can mod the plug to fit though i have just been lazy.

Yeah doof with the drag radials it didnt want to spin at all. no traction issues man it just took off...

I just need to get some stock suspension and and go back :)

Some nice numbers there, you certainly have the mph for a good ET. 1.845 60' isnt too bad, if you take 0.2 (1.6) off this and times 2 , you should take a further 0.4 off your ET giving you a high 10.

Yes... i should be able to get a 1.6 60 foot which will see me do a 10. but i need different suspension first

Nice! Is it 2.5 or 3litre? Cams?

3 litre with stock cams and stock rb25 head. DEAD STOCK.

Is this thing normal weight? Thats a pretty sharp time.

Those 60 foots should come down a lot also. How many psi were you running in the tyres? Are they MT ET Radials?

Yes normal weight, had back seats in it and floor mats in it.

I must admit mate

thats some good mph and time

congrats

i take back what i said months ago :)

hope you get your 10, the mph is there for it:D

Lots of people are eating their own words mate.. its all good. i knew what the car had because i was driving it around and was terrified with that power on the street

Congrats, with all the work and effort you've put in over the years, that must have been a sweet result :)

Keep the updates coming!

Oh, and BTW - don't turn down the boost, just turn it up!!!

Cheers mate, its been a long time comming, i just had to wait till everything was right before i took it to the track.

Well Done Mate.

Geez I would be happy with 11s let alone a 10...buuuuutttt......Lets see an RH9 gtst!!! That would surely piss off all the snotty nosed GTR owners around here :D

Yes it would upset them, but i would need a 1.2 60 foot to get a 9 and that is not going to happen... maybe with the water meth injection kit switched on, but i dont need to do a 9.. i just want a 10

Awesome result from the 3ltr Guilt-Toy. And its still meeting emission requirements?? :D

Won't be able to push much more than 500wrhp out of the GT35.... GT40 TIME!!! :(

at the time of the race it still had the emissions tune in it, but it had a screamer pipe and a race pipe (no cat) and the catch can was vented to atmo, 15 mins worth of mods would see it back to emissions compliant.

Remember this car gets over 400ks to a tank of fuel as well :)

So yeah not bad for a car that i did mostly myself (bar the fabrication work)

thanks for the comments guys, il go back down very soon.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
