Diy Carwash

Hey all just wandering if anyone knows if there are DIY car washes that dont use recycled water, or do they all use it?

Correct, it's a legal requirement.

But i think the "spot free rinse" is not recycled water

so even the car washes where you pay people to wash it for you. Is that water recycled?

If so this would mean its not legally possible to wash your car with clean water ?

water restrictions....where have you been...lol. there was a time when we could use a bucket of water but no more...sigh.

and yes a percentage at the carwash is recycled, its required by law.

unless you use your own tank water. Sounds silly but I've done it plenty of times at my folks place.

It feels a bit strange though, before you can rinse off the car you have to turn on a powerpoint for the pump lol

i've got a tank but the water is slightly silty so im not too keen on using it

Ive got a tank, use the water from it to wash my car. My paint hasnt coroded away yet lol.

Well the water is treated etc etc.

Its probably cleaner than the water that comes outta your tap.

i highly doubt that?? If it was why would everyone be making a big deal about it. Then again i shouldnt say anything as i have no idea

Last night i went to the carwash just to use the high pressure hose to wash some dust off the rear bar and today i noticed residue; kinda like a mineral residue.

Had to use a bucket to wipe it off just before.

Never again will i use it.

did you dry it?

If not, likely exhaust fumes etc because it wasnt dry.

mine is fine everytime i give it a wash @ car washes

I have no issues using the DIY car washes, but the water is filtered through a salt filtration system, so it's best to use the spot free rinse at the end of the wash, to remove any possible salty residue.

poor buggers, so close to so much water you can't use.

I feel your pain.. might have to go wash my car again..
