Hopefully there wont be any holdens there with red and blue lights on the roof like last time we met at Monash Uni Carpark.

+1

how easy is it to open a account with SAU, an for ANYONE to PM me? :P

the other meet should of had a '' diffrent '' heading from the one that was posted on SAU... which atracted the poilce

do we get the police tracking our meets for the GOR??? or them waiting out front when we finish DECA?? or when we had OVER 40 CARS at the last east meets west

I THINK it was the heading, as history has proven

..nah...they werent, just public vic events...but I just think we should at least try to keep the cops out of events like this.

I bet if it was any of you who got ass raped like me last time, youd feel the same.

Not just out for myself but for everyone...

It's been raised at committee meetings, and I can see where you're coming from Mat.

It was decided not to go the PM route as like AP said already, its easy for anyone to PM asking for the meet point...Also these meets wouldn't be the same if only the regulars were notified...they'd be a lot smaller.

There's been plenty of meets in the past like these that have gone off without a hitch...the last 1 had some extra attention, and now thats the only meet people seem to remember.

This is just a social gathering. Anyone expecting springnats, or wanting to go for some midnight club togue runs, this is not the meet for you.

lol thats funny, if you that worried about the cops dont own a skyline.... if your going to own a Skyline you just gotta deal with it or not go on meets and cruises...

dont forget it just takes 1 cop to see a bunch of cars and they can get on their CBs anyway so why stress about them reading it on here either way if your car is worthy of a defect then your going to get done anyway sooner or latter??...

i dont think the cops go looking for shit like this as much as u think. after autosalon on sunday as we were leaving there were cops outside waiting but even then they wernt stopping the cars...

Couldnt agree more!

Since 2002, i've only ever had police rock-up to one event i've attended (and it was with the commodore club for a charity event).

A simple chat, and all was well. As long as people are respectful, it works both ways.

And ive organised a lot of open meets, hell for the first two years all the meets were open (no club existed).

Yeah your going to maybe get the odd mr plod who thinks he has a point to prove, but overall, paranoia serves no means for cruises if people are doing nothing wrong.

Ill be @ the meet point out east for a bit, doubt dinner though as ive got other events to attend that night

    • The team at OBD2 Australia are pretty good, shoot them an email and ask them. I've dealt with them before for work stuff. I'd be shocked if it didn't work, so long as Consult can activate the ABS. But you might need to use KLine for it which would be the stopper, as I don't think that piece does KLine comms.
    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
