fark ppl cant be too trusting these days. wen we test drove my mates car the dude was mind bogglingly trusting. two shifty looking curry guys rocking up with hoodies up and smokes and shit and he just handed over the keys. we were gone for bout 20min (was night and we took it to a servo down the road to look it over). coulda easily not gone back. not that we'd do so of course

sorry to hear buddy.. with that many s15's out there and esp. being stock it'll be pretty hard to find. Im sure the plates wouldve defintely been taken off or swapped, but like someone else said chances are it might've been taken just for a joy ride. I saw on ACA recently with someone in the same situation as you and "just cars insurance" refused to pay him out. Hope you don't have the same problem. All the best anyhows..

i understand what your saying, and i feel sorry for that bloke if that was the case.... however what this guy did to me is straight out THEFT! and from talking to other people who have had their s15's taken recently... sounds to me like im lucky i didnt have a weapon pulled on me!

im thankful to be alright! thats my first main priority.... we'll wait and see what happens with the car, it will either turn up or it wont

its just a matter of playing the waiting game!

however i have full comp insurance and theft is obviously covered! and theft is exactly what has occured! i DIDN'T say to him "sure thing mate, just take it... i dont care!"

i was still half in the car when he took off

i had one foot in and one foot out of the car.... he took off hard.. stopped to let the door slam shut then continued on his way with my car :)

Put it this way; when you get your payout you can buy a skyline!

serz though; your covered i read the justcar booklet about a month ago cos i was thinking of ramming a civic into someone i didnt like

another skyline eh... interesting theory... that would be my third... kinda greedy if you ask me

Not good to hear Mark! Been happening a lot in Syd and more-so now Vic too :D

Insurance saves the day at least even if its a ripe pain in the ass.

I'd have a guess the car would already have a new build plate and so on from a wreck :P

if the guy is out to steal a car do you think he is going to hand you his correct licence?

of course not!!! the only thing if he was going to use his real licence, it might have been avoided as he would have gotten scared

but if he was planning to steal it, then he would have fake ID and plently of fake stuff to go

Nah see thats the thing... They test drive maybe 20 cars a day. Aim for stock ones as its easier to sort out/rebirth etc.

Sometimes they will get a winning combination... like no details, small deposit, no license taking, right chance to drive off etc etc

So relatively its a good opportunity and low risk to them for getting caught, stopped etc.

If you do take the license + deposit + keys to his car... you've instantly created a deterrent and they probably will avoid the test drive and just say nah its all good and you'll never see em again.

The prints will be on his keys, car and license (when its handed too you).

Sucks to hear about your missing car :D

At least you werent injured in the incident.

Who know what weapons he may have had and how desperate he was to take it.

Like the yellow s15 owner who was tazered before his car was stolen..

I reckon even if the thief would hand over any ID or key's, he'd probably demand them back by force somehow.

If you get a drivers license, i reckon SMS the number to a friend so if they do take the license back and your phone, least your friend has the number? lol

Went off a bit, but yeah, ill keep an eye out for your car :P

leave his licence at home/with a mate. then they have to come back with you to get it

He could argue that he needs license to test drive the car but.

I guess just have 3 friends with you when selling car, that way if there is someone at the back as you step out they cant really take off with the car hehe

what?! your a lucky flamin mongrel lol full insurance.. they'll pay yo more then the cars worth.. lmfao @ how they stole it but. lebo flamin mongrels lmfao. thank god ur insured.. but dude your actin like your not insured :P get a skyline and be happieee LOL

mate, sorry to hear your car got stolen. but it's common sense to always get a photo copy of or just hold onto the guys licence before you go anywhere. do not get out of the car at any time when the keys are in the ignition. so if you are going to let him drive, hop out taking the keys with you, then hop back in the passenger side and give him the keys. don't get out again to swap back until you have the keys again. always have another friend with you when you meet the guy. and just use some character judgement. I know you weren't expecting it but there were plenty of set-up clues. meet up where he didn't have a car, private number, bumbag and gold chain, no licence shown... this guy is screaming "i'm going to steal your car".

You forgot to mention keywords "LEH" when they're talking :)

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
