Secondary Oil Filter For Turbo

Is anyone using turbo inline oil filters in 2020? Thoughts?

I brought one with my @hypergear turbo but am unsure if i should use it.  

There's lots of mixed opinions what do you guys think?

I run one, put it this way if your motor lets go and sends bits of metal into your oil system do you also want it to take out your turbo?

Just insurance for the turbo CHRA.

Thanks dose makes sense, I'll run one.

But I'm not to sure how to install it. See pic. There's a filter, female union and a o-ring. ?‍♂️

no need for o ring, not sure why it's even there?

I ran mine between 2x lines

Block -> fitting -> hose -> filter -> hose -> fitting -> turbo

Yeah that's how i would of thought it goes together. But i only have 1 line

So somthing like

Block>fitting>union>filter>line>turbo 

I do not know

Well that will work looking at the pic so long as it fits

Yeah the oil line is fairly long already so with the filter like that seems excessively long.

I know i could cut the line and put it between the two lines with new fittings but that would be a huge pain in the ass.

Yuh, that filter clearly meant to go on the block, assuming that the hose in the photo is both ends of the same hose.

Yes the hose is the same one.

So block>fitting>union>filter>hose>turbo

And does the union need to go a certain way one end is a little longer?

What do you mean "one end is a little longer"? Are you talking about what you can see on the outside, or what the internals look like? Given that the cone end on both the fitting and the filter appear to be the same length, I would expect that the union would need/want to be the same both ends internally. The difference in length in the external hexes is really just to provide the room for the union swivel (I should imagine).

M12x1.25 to engine block => Black Female Female adapter => Inline filter => Straight hose tails of Oil line => Turbo oil feeding adapter => Turbo
