sorry if its been covered but why the ~200rpm difference in reaching full boost? actually different with e85 or just different ramp rate on the dyno?

interesting results, wish one of the servos would hurry up and start selling some over here, keen to experiment

Exact same ramp rate, the E85 seemed slightly lazier but here is another graph which is more indicative as the two runs i've listed here were within 5mins (the time to swap fuels)

I've never really thought too hard about the cause of this kind of thing when tuning with alcohol but it definitely happens. I'd say at least part of the reason would be the increased (even if just slightly) amount of volume passing through the engine and as such, through the exhaust system.

We got 200rpm better spool when we tuned an RB20DET R32 running a T3/T4 on an E33 mix recently, interestingly we got an extra 40wkw on roughly the same boost level with that conservative a mixture of ethanol - and making big modifications to the fuel system wasn't needed either. I'm quite tempted to do such a tune for my Skyline...

Trent do you know where the cam gear were set? Joey previously indicated they had been adjusted and I am curious where they ended up.

Looking at the results of this thread has got me pretty excited and pretty bummed out at the same time.

Bummed out because I do not have access to any ethanol in this country (if you have kept up with my current adventure you would understand) .. Excited because I can see all the testing and time I have invested in e85 last year is paying off, there seems to be a big e85 trend going on since I stuck my neck out and tested this stuff in my car, Just search for E85 on google.com.au and you will see how many other forums are linked to us here at SAU.

Looking at the results from Trent @ Status Tuning - URAS has backed up everything that I have found on my initial testing of the fuel. I found a 40 - 50 rwkw increase with my setup but I was using a bigger turbo charger so you cannot compare them with this setup 100% but it does show that when you have a experienced tuner working with this fuel you can see major gains with no other modifcations as long as the fuel system is up to the task then you will have gains all across the board.

It is good to see that you guys are still working on this boost juice, without the support of tuners like Trent and enthusiasts like Joe Joe, Nytsky and Now the all famous Dirtgarage (AKA Twoogle and Mark Jacobson @ Godzilla and a few others like Yavus @ Unigroup Engineering and even JEM) it really puts SAU first in line in Australia for for this remarkable race gas in a pump for only 0.99c a litre.

So yeah, I am sure I do not only speak for myself when this warm fuzzy feeling of E85 love gets its share of internet hits... Its because of tuners and and enthusiasts like us who make it happen.

Keep up the good work! Someone needs to try and and push a complete stock RB25DET to as much power as possible with this fuel... are you up for the mission Trent? :D Can anyone say 400rwkw ?

:D

Yup sponsorship drive is on for next year, dont be suprised if its sexyland, AMI, 4SEASONS etc.... AMI's nasal delivery spray budget is huge... how many billboards are around? 1000's. If you look next to it you can see wrigleys and haynes manuals are also listed

no idea! But will be very interested in what you find with the NA engines and E85

well as soon as i can afford an ecu and cams i'll be posting the results in my thread

any idea what kind of gains the holden boys have been seeing?

i really want to try to get it to around 120rwkw n/a

the other idea i was toying with was dedicated gas...

well i have the fuel system & injectors to run e85 as i always planned on running this e85 stuff 1 day - my tuner also recommends it  he told me about an increase of 50-70awkw would be within reach for my setup which equates to approx. 15-20% power increase...looking at joejoe's results this seems about right!

if only i could get this fuel from more than 1 servo in sydney (united in drummoyne) i'd be in @ my knees

oh & congrats joejoe on your results!

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
