agree with the above posts. if you want to drive the 35 a lot and on freeways then you may as well call past the local police station on your way out and cut up your licence in advance to save the officer the hassle... they really are built for stupid speed and get there in a hurry.

also, agree with martin, i've seen the nissan dealer guys on track, and the journos too at the private press track release and they were not punting very hard at all. so it's no surprise they didn't crack any decent temps. but anyone having a decent go even on the street will get both box and engine over 110 in a hurry, and on the track the box will hit 130 after 3 or 4 good laps.

they are such a capable car. just crazy fast. I've driven some pretty hot euros and other supercars lately and the GTR makes them all feel a bit lacking in torque and acceleration and grip too. such a sweet car. they are the car bargain of the century!

+1....... :(

Geez - we were told not to worry about "running it in". I mean the damn things are run in on an engine dyno and then track tested before they are shipped so where's the logic in putting around for 2,000kms before giving it some (I've never been a fan of doing that even with rebuilt RB engines either. I think the logic is flawed myself).

My car hasn't done many km's yet (only 500odd as well) but a number of those I have done have been angry! :(

It's booked in for the 1st service for next Thursday (as I'm off to Tassie in it next Friday) so I better get some km's on it between now and then (although they didn't seem too worried if I hadn't done 2,000kms by then).

500 k's already...and only took delivery yesterday....I refuse to leave the cockpit.... :(

:P And with all those hidden speed cameras...congrats...that is commitment.

I can top it! 1000kms in 1 day. :P although admittedly half of that was in NSW and only half in VIC.

I took it for a 1 hour drive at 1 am the other night just so as to spend quality time with it (north of Brisbane where I had the road to myself). Manual mode and restricting to 4k rpm would be enough to give my old man a coronary.

Went down to the shop...501 k's Now.....

weekend's comin up, go up and down chapel st a few times... you'll fit right in and you'll be doing your car a favour.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
