Hey guys

I've recently moved to Melbourne from the Gold Coast for work and even though im still settling in I couldn't resist cruising around anyway during that time.

my reason for this thread was to ask all you fellow VIC SAU'ers of the whereabouts you guys meet and greet or even cruise around.

I had a bit of a drive around Melbourne CBD on Friday night but found nothing that led to a common area you guys meet at.

Even though I spotted a few supras and skylines around, they seemed to be going about their own business.

I'm currently situated in Watsonia.

so if someone wants to send a PM to meet up and possibly show me the g.o with things here that would be great :)

Cheers

Sloane

keep an eye on the event section for cruises ,events , and general catch ups.

as many will tell you, skylines in victoria are the boys in blue most 'liked' car, so just be carefull out there on friday night cruising. :)

Welcome To Victoria Sloane

thanks guys for the responses.

Thats unfortunate to hear about what was mentioned above.

I did meet the owner of the Vic plates (WTF) supra on the gold coast and he did explain how he was pulled over various times back at home but since he has moved to the Gold Coast he wasnt hassled much at all.

Well i'll keep my eyes open for any events posted up.

but yeh if you guys are up for a meet n greet send a pm.

lucky i have GPS cause ill get very lost otherwise.... roads here are alot different lol

Cheers

watsonia... ha ha i live in Greensborough

If you want random meets you need to join NissanSilvia.com because they have random meets every week

but as mentioned above, this is the state to be defected

welcome to Vic... enjoy your stay

Try HERE? for some big cruise events, also beast club is meant to be pretty good, never been but there is some good youtube videos of there cruises.

These are just general car club cruises so the majority of cars are fords and holdens but there are some nice others in there as well.

Welcome. Yeah, our CBD roads are more hectic than in QLD. Love downtown Brissy and the wide multi-lane one-way streets. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I think it makes it more efficient in the end.

Hook turns FTW lol

if by beastclub you mean the group of cars at Krispy Kreams every friday night then not a good idea to take your skyline there.

i've been a few times to grab some midnight donuts and always see bloody hoons flying out of the exits onto the the main road, doing their own donuts in the carpark, just pure hooning.

now that dont account for all the members, but there is always one in the crowd that likes the attention, and as a fellow SAU member on here found out, that hoon got the attention....a few cop cars to block off and inspect cars hanging around ...

i my self have been cought up in a few of there cruis's down princess some nights... every set of lights is a drag race with them.

If you drive normaly and don't anything stupid on the roads cops won't pull you over.

So don't worry too much.

Check events section for cruises.

Hopefully a Beach to Burger Cruise is coming up soon.

Bullshit, i was driving normally when i got pulled over and defected, if you truly believe that cops dont go after skylines then you are fooling your self, all these newbies coming on here asking which bov makes the best noise and which exhaust makes the most noise makes us a target, hence why im selling my skyline and moving onto something just as fast if not faster but the cops dont even know what it is.

hi guys, abit off topic but i just moved up to melbourne to for work i havent moved my car here yet but from sa i dont plan on changing to vic rego and plates or my licence but can the cops still defect a sa car over here? i was told they just give you a fine for each defect?

LMFAO!

My car is stock...

Moving on to 5 years of owning it and been pulled up afew times...

1 defect, thats why the car is now stock (As in stock Cat Back Exhaust is now back on) and about 3 times for licence checks... Nothing major.

Doesnt happen offten.

You know what is legal and illegal, stick to the legal mods for your car, you will be fine.

When i got defect he picked 2 items but i only got one fine, driving an unroadworthy vechile so im guessing you will just get one, if your lucky you wont get any.

As for defect, i would assume that no matter where the car is registered if its not up to local laws they could defect it, dont know how much affect it would have though.

yes but sa road laws are different to vic, like i can have a pod, big fmic in sa there re heaps of different mods we can do legally but in vic you cant? and i got a massive list of mods to my car and we dont have emissions where im from ether. and a defect in vic wont affect the rego in sa because there not linked and wont show up on transport sa system? so really i can just rip if off and say it isnt there as such?

also do you have rally/race rego over here because i can get it quite easy over in sa, an since the car mainly dose race days and the od weekend drive i might be better getting it.

    • The car/ECU will have all the sensor that it needs and expect to have. I think i do not have to explain to you how the Link is way better specialy if you have swapped engine   I just do not want to deal with any "problems" cuz i have only Nistune which i learned is not that great and in my case cant even deal with that speed problem (Link can) And of course it will be way more easier to tune and diagnose and safe. And for the ECU/speed problem...i dont know.
    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
