One of our crews attended this scene. This is what happened:

The WRX rammed the GTR from behind, the GTR driver waited for someone to get out but thought it odd that no-one did for sometime. The GTR driver got out and LOCKED his car, then 4 armed guys with balaclavas got out, the GTR driver fled but the guys chased him, one of them got back in the WRX and run him down on the footpath, he was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The guys got the GTR keys in the end but couldnt start the GTR thank god cause of the GTR's alarm/immobiliser!!! The WRX WAS STOLEN, this was confirmed as the guy got the plates. Police on scene were saying its becoming very common, they are targetting there cars and following them for awhile first, get patterns and stuff. So think about it, I know im always watching the rear view mirror and never go the same way twice!!!!!!!

I work in the 'Gladesville area' and a dude that works in the wholesaler I go into everyday thought it was me! He knows i've got a GTR and he heard all about this on the radio, even went as far as ringing my boss to find out.

It's a bloody scary thing..

Jono

I heard it was on the corner of Epping Rd and Pittwater Rd, North Ryde.

I also heard on the radio that they had axes and baseball bats.

Talk about epidemic proportions - this sh!t is getting ridiculous.

Out of interest, what model GTR was it? I hope the dude makes a full recovery so he can identify the scum.

    • Unless you're fortunate enough to buy a newer car, getting an older style plate to match your name/car is difficult because they've already been purchased.  Unlike other countries, personalised plates are locked to the country and not region, so there can't be multiple versions of the same plate but with a different area code.  Hope that helps
    • People use the numbers to make it look like letters to spell words/names, which is where the illegal spacing comes in. For example this GR Yaris

    • That's why I said it is a meaningless term. Because there is more than one meaning that people can apply to it. When we said "highflow", that is exactly what we mean, and exactly what is done. In a highflow, they take your housing and machine them out to take bigger wheels, have a better internal profile, etc etc, and fit a new core with the different/better/bigger wheels.
